A little more data might be found in this Grim Reapers video:

You might take a look at the following video. Hopefully I attached the lua files which may be of use to you. FULL DISCLOSURE: I really haven't used these files to see if they work as I do not use DCS at the present time. F5E_Joystick.diff.lua F5E_Keyboard.diff.lua F5E_Rudder.diff.lua F5E_Throttle.diff.lua

I really don't know exactly what you Fliers are taking about, but...……… Can you pause the simulation, do a [shift] Print Screen to "photo" the tutorial wording, then do an Alt Tab to get to a Word document and dump the "photo" there for later review. Then resume the sim. to the next tutorial text and do the same???? Just an idea, albeit tedious.

Well I enjoyed that video! Were any Yak52's harmed in its production? I liked your way of conserving gas on the take-offs, but can rely on engine reliability? :) This reminded me of STOL light weight aircraft out in rough country. A somewhat comparison can be see by YouTube searching "Wild West Aircraft SuperSTOL landing short", Where did you get the weathered skin?????

FC3 Total Flle Size? Sorry for the basic question - What is the file size for FC 3. I'm running low on my C drive and need to evaluate what FC3 install would take up. An associated question would be once downloaded can I simply cut and past FC3 to another drive such as my 1TB D drive or a thumb SSD as a temporary solution???? Thanks.

Am hoping to pick up this module during the 1/2 sale. Can I be assured it will run on my stable-only version of DCS World since the description doesn't include "early access" like the Hornet and now Tomcat, etc.??? Thanks

Which gives the better tracking without glitching; the clip pro or the three point hat "assembly"? Or it it solely dependent on the software settings and elimination of outside light sources?
-
This looks like an alternative to using a helicopter when just flying and exploring the terrain modules, slow and slow. Bonus: don't have to learn how to fly a helicopter!:smartass:

Thanks for the detailed answer, DaveRinder, It doesn't sound like it would be that great.
-
Dave, have you tried the mod linked below and if so is it a valid flying plane for the current DCS 2.5??? Thanks https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/600266/?sphrase_id=9759609

How many times have you tried to DL Nevada? If more than once you might have more than one copy lying around in your hard drive/SSD eating up space? Also look in your DSC folder titled "downloads" for a duplicate. Your main Nevada should be in the Terrains folder.

So just a cut and past doesn't mess with anything in the Windows registry? And the removed DCS and be brought back and it is recognized without any further jacking around?.

Is the OP able to transfer (cut/paste) unwanted modules to another detached SSD and still have them easily moved back into active status and be playable, probably after respective updates??

Sometimes you can snag a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog on Ebay that is new or nearly so for a good price, or at least lower than most outlets. There are other premium HOTAS's, but Warthog is the most widely used and there are most likely set-ups available for your aircraft module. You would probably be well satisfied with this higher priced product when in DCS. Also, you can resell a Warthog more easily than the more basic set-ups when the time comes. Just my .02.....

A remote computer support person via Team Viewer commented "nice looking simulator!" This was when we started it up NTTR to test the repair of a scrambled 2.5 installation.

What do you experienced simmers recommend we newbie's study until a manual update is completed? Which threads/forums are worthwhile reading? Thanks

Hoping Jeff gets the situation resolved! I successfully downloaded 2.5 using Torrent, but at a very slow pace = 11 hours +/-. I decided to use Torrent and it worked. My prior 1.5 and 2.2 DLs were using HTTP, so I guess in my case both may work. Now to DL the F-5 and Nevada. (temporarily disregard my signature below re. DLed products.)
-
Good luck and hope it all works for you. I'll start my process in about a day (night) or too.
-
Jeff, By "hard time" are you just referring the LONG process?? Does Comcast "throttle" you somehow? I typically down load overnight over a DSL with speeds of about .6 maximum. Daytime, the line traffic is much worse. Takes 10 hours (with the HTTPS:// setting, not torrent. I DO LEAVE my antivirus on which DCS does not recommend due to the slowing effect. That's 10 hours for each item: DCS World......Nevada........and then my F-5. ......Sigh.....

After 3 attempts to upgrade to 2.5 Release, I have decided to delete all files and start over. I do have my "keys" for two purchased products (NTTR and F-5). Is there anything I need to watch out for in this process. I am surprised to encounter this brick wall after an easy time downloading and running 2.2.0, 1.5.8.12823, NTTR, and the F-5.
-
I really hate to add to the clutter, but I need advice upgrading to 2.5 stable. My first attempt stalled. Presently DCS World 2.2.0 Open Alpha with F-5 and Nevada terrain are installed and working. In addition DCS World 1.5.8.12823 is also installed and tested. Both are in a main Eagle Dynamics folder, C drive. After 10 hours of DL my computer was in the DIRECT X SETUP step with a “unable to find dsetup.dll” message appeared. An additional message stated: can’t run C:\\Windows\System32\bin/DCS.exe(2) The system cannot find the file specified. What am I doing wrong? Are there two different Updater programs? I think I was using 2.6.26.41. Is this something I go to user support and create a trouble ticket. Or is that action inappropriate in this case? Thanks for any input!!

Google Translate can get tedious if a lot of copy/pasting is required
