  1. Whew!.........I like DCS, but everything requires/demands a learning curve.

  3. PBC Pitching Deck video's I don’t think these two 10-minute videos have been posted yet. I ran through this thread’s 20 pages and didn’t see them (also searched on “Pitching Deck” and the associated URL’s to also search. Anyway, Part 1 almost made me seasick and started to give me the “willies” as the landings just weren’t coming off! Part 2 is really nerve racking when the darkness closed in and there was one BOLTING F-18 after another. And the carrier was adding to the crowd by the need to launch other F-18’s to refuel those attempting to land. The slamming Hornets and trailing spark showers can give you shivers. I wonder if the carrier module that should eventually accompany the F-18 module will have a pitching deck option? 4. Are there any youtubes showing F-5's success verses AI?
  5. Thanks for the input and giving me some ideas!
  6. I would think it would be awfully loud in that tunnel!! Is there room for oncoming traffic??? Good stick control.
  7. My OLD Microsoft Optical Mouse 3000 is getting tiresome to use and requires my fingers to slam down hard to register an input. So, new mouse time. What should I get for DCS and just general use??? I do require a wired version (not wireless). Are gaming Mouses with programmable buttons useful in DCS? Otherwise, I do have a Thrustmaster HOTAS set, pedals, and TrackIR5. Thankx............
  8. Agree about the needed spec"s. Also mission load should drag some on any computer performance. I've got everything on max, but haven't "loaded a mission" because I need to set up HOTAS and TrackIR first.
  9. The new 2.5 blows me away with the scenery improvements. But the ground effects could stand some improvement. If DCS resources and time are limited I would like the aerial environment to take priority. Anyways, to compare 2.5 to what could be developed on the ground first see how the military vehicle interacts with the water at the 3:30 point as vehicle enters the water: Then compare the above to this off-road simulation tank’s splashing and surging in deep water at the 7:15 point. Backing up to the 1:20 point shows the strong impact on bushes and small trees. The 4:15 point shows interaction with mud. Lastly here is an example of a heavy truck chassis creating tracks and ruts in rather deep snow in this same off-road simulation.
  10. Over a week ago I contacted Thrustmaster on their website regarding their plans for a new HOTAS specifically for the DCA F/A-18C. They came back with some indication of this new product being under development. As it will be "a while" I will temporarily need some input stick in order to get off the ground with my F-5 "trainer". Any suggestions? Below is my discussion with Thrustmaster: Garyss: Eagle Dynamics is now taking pre-release orders for their F/A-18C fighter/bomber module which they expect to release mid-2018. Can Thrustmaster categorically state that you will also be marketing a F/A-18 HOTAS specific joystick-throttle similar to your HOTAS Warthog product near that timeframe??? Thanks….. Thrustmaster: Dear Garyss, Unfortunately, we have no information on the releases of a new high end joystick other than the press release (summer 2017). Our R&D department is making sure the new joystick will be just as reliable and feature packed as the current Warthog, if not even more so. This model is still underdevelopment at this point. 11. I'd rather have a Extra 330sc or possibly a Zivko Edge 540 than a biplane. Seems like a monoplane would be a better "trainer" for DCS jets than a bipe.
  12. This AM I inquired directly to Thrustmaster on their website regarding their plans to market a F/A-18 specific HOTAS (similar to Warthog). Will report if they respond.
