  1. Hello all, any computer wiz here? I really need some help getting LO to function correctly on my PC... I have an HP Pavilion dv9207us notebook PC... running on Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Here are my specs: Core Duo 1.73GHz 2GB PC5300 GeForce Go 7600 256mb My graphics is a total mess... everytime I look away from the center of the cockpit, the graphic messes up and nothing can be seen... (white spots, transparent cockpit, etc). I have the latest drivers for my graphics card and also all other PC hardware. I also have the 1.12b patch for LO:FC. I know it's not any hardware problems because I run other games fun... such as COD4 demo, and Far Cry. Any help is greatly appreciated... thanks in advance! Raptor
  2. Voice hosting server hosted a "lottery" sort of deal... all customers who were paying for voice servers qualified... I thought to myself "what the heck, I'd go for it" and BAM I won the 100 slot vent for a year. Smoooooth move I admit
  3. Nice to see some potential "customers" hehhah! except it's no pay... unless you really feel that thankful... then it's up to you:music_whistling:
  4. Landing is fun and easy once you are used to it... especially in LOMAC hehehehe
  5. Must be my lucky day... I just got a FREE subscription to a 100 slot Ventrilo server for 1 year... hard to believe, I know... :D (server ends April 22, 2008). I guess I can do some of you a favor, if your squadron or future squadron don't have a voice server yet you guys are always welcome to use mine. I can easily create channels for your squadron, hand out some admin, etc. I'm trying to make this server as public as possible, for different games and clans and squadrons, etc. Feel free to spread the word, 100 slots IS quite a bit!! First come first serve. I do however have some strict rules on the server against spamming, flaming, or anything that can make the server a bad environment. Can't type them all out now, if you're interested just connect to the server and read the welcome message. IP: 66.207.167.30 PORT: 9845 Location: Dallas, Texas One year is quite a long time, for those future users on the server who enjoy it, paypal donations are gladly accepted and appreciated. Who knows, I might even lengthen the subscription life of the server if I get enough income through my job and some side donations! Thanks for your precious time reading this advertisement :P
  6. I meant to say that most of the NEW Russian birds could possibly defeat the Raptor at low alt. low speed dogfights. Of course... I'm not saying that the Raptor is lacking in slow speed maneuvering, I'm just saying that the Russian birds are better designed to engage in low speed low altitude dogfights, since it's what they are mainly designed for. The F-15 wasn't built specifically for dogfights, more of BVR engagement, and yet it still performed outstandingly in dogfights. Raptors were designed with top of the line BVR abilities... fire and forget, before enemies even realize they are under attack, that's what's so superior about it, no blip on radar, and BAM you're gone and don't know what the heck hit ya :P
  7. Personally I think that there's no such thing as the "best fighter jet" in the world... it all depends on the situation, weapons used, altitude, etc etc... And that snapshot of the Super Hornet on the Raptor is not really impressive nor surprising... I mean... just because the Raptor is "supposedly" the best fighter in the world doesn't mean that it is invincible! Once an experienced pilot is on your six, chances of your escape is very low, regardless what plane you're in. In fact, I think most planes could probably outmaneuver the Raptor at low altitude low speed dogfights, especially Russian birds, since the Raptor is not really designed for that type of combat, similar to the F-15, and yet it doesn't slack at all.
  8. I don't think the game supports the resolution of my monitor... it is widescreen at 1440 X 900. Unless I can get the game to support widescreen, I don't think Lock On will be very friendly to me everytime I exit:doh:
  9. I have respected the Blue Angels... saw their talents at multiple airshows, never thought this would happen, they were legendary... God bless, RIP.
  10. Agreed, one of the best joysticks ever made. No clue why Microsoft stopped making them (Microsoft is weird in many ways)... oh well. About a day more until auction ends... last chance to those who want it!
  11. Red trigger is an updated version of the silver trigger. I don't know exactly the differences but the red trigger is definitely better. The silver trigger works fine though, everything is fully functional, etc. Really nice force feedback.:joystick:
  12. I can definitely consider for BVR training and formation flying, those are my two weak spots. My weekends are rather full since I work, but in the evenings I may try to find some time to squeeze in.
  13. Just got a red trigger MS Force Feedback 2 joystick from a friend, how nice... therefore I am selling my current silver trigger joystick. I have it listed on eBay for a very great price, any eBayers here are welcome to buy/bid/look and consider!! Peace out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330110932882&rd=1&rd=1 Raptor22
  14. For my vid card, I'm using the normal updated drivers from NVIDIA.com... I use Windows XP Professional. Weird thing is, this hasn't happened before I got my new monitor (just today). Odd. Other games don't have this issue too.
  15. Hi, whenever I exit out of my Lock On application, the screen would be total blackness, and just a mouse. The game has already shut down and the CPU has already loaded back to desktop, but it shows a blank screen. I have to CTRL ALT DEL everytime to get back to desktop. Nothing unresponsive though, I believe it may be video issues etc. I have a widescreen 19 inch LCD and a GeForce7950GT w/ 512 mb. Any suggestions?
  16. Here is my setup... my desk is rather old... had it since I was 8 years old (more than 10 years ago). The monitor is also old... about 6 years old... 19 inch flat screen coming soon! :smilewink:
  17. I don't know much about best altitude of firing position, so I assume that the higher altitude missile will hit its target easier since it's falling with gravity instead of fighting it. For the missile timing part... firing two close-apart semi-actives don't usually work that well, because when the bandit banks away and sprays out chaff, BOTH the missiles tend to get confused and lose its target. Active missiles closely apart will sometimes work because the first one is always the one your enemy dodges... (RWR indicates its range), but many people tend to get careless after the first because they are busily celebrating it LOL! :P If you are in a Russian bird, I recommend firing off an R27ET first before you fire your semi or active, or you can do it the other way around, so they will never see it coming (unless there are contrails). The beeping and alarms of approaching homing missiles get some people off track of potential heatseekers (I'm one of them )... so you can either do it that way or just time your radar missiles according to his position and awareness... etc. I find firing a semi after an active pretty useful sometimes because they always expect another active but don't see it on RWR... (I fall for that too )... these are just tips... I am no professional at missiles and timing myself anyways... :smartass:
  18. You should make sure that your X52 is properly calibrated from your Windows properties... and then go according to how the game does it... (Deadzones, etc.) Do multiple tests and you will finally get the setting you like. I had to do that when I had my old Saitek ST290 Pro.
  19. I think that this is something that also needs to be fixed in BS... F-15s aren't good at low altitude low speed turns, while on the contrary the Mig, Su33, and Flankers are extremely good at handling this situation. The Mig will eventually almost "stop" turning when forced into high AoA sometimes... causing any other plane to catch up to it from behind. A Russian made game depicting its own aircrafts like that?? Kind of awkward... I must say :noexpression:
  20. If you are a gamer... here's my tip: NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER buy or upgrade to Vista... use Windows XP... Vista for gamers will just make them bald from pulling their hair out.
  21. Shooting an AI player down with guns is not hard at all. Evading the heatseekers just takes sharp vision to see its contrails, then you pop the flares while banking away with your throttles down. After merge, tagging him with your vulcan cannon is a piece of cake (even excellent skill level AI), they don't maneuver their planes the way they should. Plus the fact it's an F4E and you're in a what... F-15C Eagle!!?? GOOD GAME! :P
  22. Looks like something from Digitalblasphemy, if you don't know it, it's a darn good site for digital beauty wallpapers! http://www.digitalblasphemy.com :D
  23. Here's my desktop, plain and simple ;)
  24. The ECM blinking technique never seems to work for me... no matter how slow or fast I flash my ECM. The enemy always seems to be able to lock me and fire a semi-active. I've even tested this out before, I was going against a friend and told him to fire semi-active missiles at me... then I flashed my ECM but he always said he had a solid lock on me, and the missiles eventually reached me and killed me. I also have the same problems with other pilots flashing ECM, naturally I am not able to lock them. By the time we get close enough I already have an R27ET in my face . So I guess this is my mini rant about this topic so far
