All this physics discussion is fascinating, but i'd really like some help with my issue :D Is the F15 supposed to use the Gsh 301 sound?
-
Suggestion; if Mig-15 is too much, try Su-25.
Milano replied to SimFreak's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Yes, SU25 is a fun match: In a low to medium speed turning fight it'll easily beat you, and it packs serious firepower. You can get him in the vertical, so energy management is key. -
I've noticed that the F15C uses the GSh 301 sound instead of the included M61 one, at least in my computer. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there any way to fix this other than swapping files?
-
I'd happily pay 5$ extra for a dark grey cockpit skin. Damn russians and your trippy colours.
-
The weird thing is that the module DOES include the correct gun sounds, it's just not using them. You can find them in Mods\aircrafts\F-86\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\F-86\Cockpit.
-
Is anybody else getting this?
-
My Sabre is using the Gsh23 gun sound instead of the .50 cals ones included with the module. Is this a bug or a problem on my end?

Why not ask for a cure for cancer while we're at it.

Locking onto different targets in TWS can be hard if they're flying close together. Is it possible to implement an "EXP" mode (like the one in Falcon 4) to expand a portion of the display and be able to better differentiate targets? * Duh, wrong forum. Could a mod move this please? Thanks!

This is true in theory, but not in practice. Since the selling point of DCS is offering an integrated combat environment, the main development goal should be to expand on that integration (IE modules that have synergy with each other, think A10C and F15C) to create a more valuable product in the end. Products like the Mustang, while being fantastic modules on their own, simply don't integrate well with the rest of the game, and in the end don't add enough value to the whole package. Even if you manage to attract a customer solely interested in WWII dogfighting, he'll end up with a very limited game, which dilutes the value of the brand.

Information from 3rd party forums is a mess.

Couldn't agree more. Seems to me that a forum is a very bad way of posting continuous updates on a project (specially in an open discussion). -

FC3 is turning out to have extremely good value. At 30$ is practically a steal. -
Should I buy Flaming Cliffs 3 or wait for the modules?
Milano replied to izt_is's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
30$ For FC3 + AFM is practically a steal. Buy it! -
I would never pay more than $50 for a DCS module, and that's only for the most popular ones (read A-10C in the present, F-18 in the future). For me at least, the Huey ain't worth $50, nor the Mustang $40. And I bitch about it the best way there is: Not buying them.
-
Price should be based on consumer valuation, never, ever, on costs. The Huey for instance probably cost a fraction of the A10 to produce, but can get away with charging that price since it's such a flying legend and people deeply value it. I personally don't value AFM by itself in more than 10$. We should see what does the average player think.
-
Same price as the A10 with only a fraction of the content. Seems too steep, if they do end up charging that i don't think it'll sell too well.

Need A-G attack advices for Su27 and Mig29 please.
Milano replied to Stratos's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There's not much to it really: Put the thing on the thing and pull the trigger. SU-27s and MiG-29s just aren't made for A-G attack, so there's very little you can do other than get in real fast, drop your ordinance and bugger off before you get hit by AA fire. -
I'm rooting for the success of dcs , become a major producer

We all root for DCS and ED. Not like we have many choices though! -
Yawn.

Automatic flight correction/Trim problems
Milano replied to King Chubbles's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Increasing your airspeed increases the lift provided by your wings, thus straightening the plane on descent. The opposite is true when climbing. You gain speed faster when descending than lose it when climbing, so the effect is more evident when heading downwards. To compensate for this we use the trim, which lets you move the control surfaces and fix them in place so you don't have to rustle the controls. If that doesn't help, post a track file :). -
F/A-18c, carrier ops, updated navies: Black Sea naval warfare. Yes please.
-
Great! but now FC3 feels a bit pointless.
-
It's not just the F-16C; Had the same problem with an F-5, haven't tried it with other planes yet though. Happens with all Russian missiles, I have seen it at least 20 times. Here's an example. AAM.trk
