This is a bug. At high altitudes and low speeds (rpm) you shouldnt be able to light on afterburner because air don't have enough oxygen. Normally computers will not allow you to lose the thrust in such situation. Max you can have is intermediate power (without afterburner) Situation will change when you will fly fast enough at high altitude. Bigger air flow will give you more oxygen + intakes will additionaly compress the air and that = more thrust
