  2. What will you do if two guys hit the same record with the same plane and noone bests them? I propose that it is taken the better one, in that case, is the one who spent less time to achieve the speed. You can see it on the demanded track, or people can turn on their counter in-game.

They do mate, but fixing things to be more realistic is a hard work and we all understand they need time for it so I believe everyone would be glad if they got the playability fix first, and then improvements to a WORKING sim next week (we have had few updates in a short notice). Instead - they seem to forget to fix some things selectively. But fixing something that worked in 1.2.3 and was accidentaly broken in 1.2.4 should be easy to revert back. And I've seen numerous people here warning about the fact that Su25T is practically useless since most big servers rely on them to carry out the key goals in a mission. That makes most of the current missions on those servers not possible to finish for one or both sides - and that has killed the point. It's all about sorting out the priorities - and playability and replayability had always been an important factor for those who want to stay on the market. And, frankly, your argument is "passe". We are not talking about past, it is a fact that ED has done great work, or I would be on IL2 forums tonight - we are talking about the fact that they're avoiding to fix a little piece of code - while they surely have the old version (what programmer deletes easily). What is the reason for 2x promising a fix and 2x not giving it to us? If someone explained that it is hard to fix it and why - that would be fair (as they explain many other things to community). What is the reason for not reverting a piece of code that they MUST have in a previous - working condition? If this continues - I will start to doubt they don't want to fix the free module in purpose......... Anyone with a brain should wonder why are they avoiding so persistently to revert code that worked like a charm from a new - broken version. We are not talking about creating a game engine, or changing few parameters to make the sim more balanced or realistic for an inch. We are talking about not reacting to an error that had rendered at least half of missions that roll on big servers - useless. It's nice to have a BVR fights, dogfights - but where is planning, where is tactics now? Nowhere. Because it's useless at the moment. And that makes ED's product not functional. I frankly don't believe anyone should treat it's own product that way. Improving is one thing - but fixing errors is something other. You can improve some parts as much as you want - but if you stay def at the fact that community is begging for a small fix in weeks and weeks - that is just not good for ED in the first place. We can all go out and give ourselves a good match of flying around and shooting around for fun. But does ED want this to be a shooter game or a tactical combat simulator? EDIT: Let me rephrase - Does ED want new people to come and treat DCS as a shooter game or as a tactical aerial combat simulator?
  4. Yeah, fire up the negative ratings just because I believe it's not needed to explain something that IS in the manual. And for your record, Sir, he was talking about G forces, without understanding that angle of attack is over limit. I gave the guy two terms he should learn and search about and you give me a negative rating?! What would this place look like if everybody came to ask basic questions THAT ARE IN the manual? OK, let's take it like this: ADMINS Please make a thread for rookies that are too lazy to read the manual AND search the forum so that people can waste time in explaining them what are the basic things - that someone spent probably over 100 hours to put in a fair and quality manual. It's not about his problem, neither your negative rating, it's about people that treat this sim as it is arcade and want to be good at it without lifting a finger.
  5. This forum is all about jumping into conclusions. Remember how most of the communitu got fired up for DCS:F15 and DCS:Su27 and then they decided to say - it's FC level aircrafts, so we break the bond with LOMAC and give you something to play with until we raise them to DCS Level? Remember?! I didn't see him saying "EDGE" anywhere. So didn't you rest. Stop making a fuss every time those people say something and stop creating the atmosphere where people expect mirracles. The truth is they need 5 more years to make this sim deserve grade 8 out of 10 on a technical field of interest. Now it's, really, just 7. Maybe 7.5. No wonder people get sucked dry...when they're constructing and acting like we've all already bought 12 complete DCS modules. Promises, promises, promises... What happened to casual fix of smaller bugs easier to fix? Those that don't need making a miles of a new code? SEAD Missiles, Explosions,........ they need to be FIXED and not written from scratch. FIX THAT FIRST so we can have something to play while you give us endless promises.

  7. Install: Latest drivers for your GPU Latest DirectX After that, get all options in Catalyst Control Panel to default. Try to play then. Tell us did it help. If that doesn't solve the problem - install the sim into another path and try then. Your machine does not render some textures either because it's missing, or your GPU drivers and/or settings prevent the game from loading it. Take note of the fact that if your texture files are corrupted and you reinstall the game in the same path again - they might stay and not be overwritten by the new installation.
  8. Do you want me to hop into cocpit instead of him? I told him because he didn't knew that his angle of attack is the problem besides G. I've told him what to search for and what is causing him problems. Me and anyone else would need to sit and write 1000+ lines of text here to explain G Forces, Angle of Attack, basic flight physics, and energy management - which is all that he needs to read, explore and get to understand - regarding his question. And still - he will find better explanations online - if he tries. Helping a person when he asks a complex question is giving him where to look for knowledge. If it would be given to him easily and with no effort, he'd learn nothing. When I was starting to fly ED products, nobody sat and gave me long lessons about basic stuff, likewise - it goes for most of us. They gave me few links and keywords, and when I started to read and learn - those people would help me to understand better what I've learned. ED Provides a complex and very good manual with their products. One of biggest humanity's problems it that it wants everything served on a plate, with no effort made to get it. His way of asking and the way most people will answer him will make him think: "Oh, ok, no sharp turns. That is it. I have the knowledge." thus - he will never try to learn myriad of other things thinking he has what it takes to fly. And he will get pounded and pounded.

  10. good idea woud be toi make a lua script that runs when you run the game and does what you have to do manually. basically - make a macro in lua or c++ and your problem is solved.
  11. Interesting how so many people are aware that jamming is badly done and still someone comes with ED tags and has the guts to say we need to learn something. You tell us what is better or worst? I will take sorbytsia for example again: It is perfectly known what does it do, secret is how does it do it. Do we ask ED to make a realistic program for usage in real aircraft? No. We ask them to make us jamming that does what is publicly known for those pods. False targets etc etc etc. It is absolutely unfair to act as if we're all dumb and clueless like someone did in this page, signed with ED Tester tag. Let me tell you again, before you ban me because I you won't listen to anybody. WE DON'T want you to recreate realistic software solution for jamming. We want you to create and model the effects of jamming that are publicly available to learn. Start with false targets. I won't fall for your "you need to learn" provocations. And i will not tell you more that I know than> FALSE TARGETS. None of you explains or answers any strong facts.
  12. 1. Set the desired ext. view 2. Unlock camera with LeftAlt+F2 3. While camera unlocked - look down 4. Use zoom in command to move the unlocked camera in space 5. Press LeftAlt+F2 to lock the camera 6. Turn your look into the desired/designated object/direction. You have moved negative value in Y axis. Problem? I don't know how to make it do that by default instead of setting it up every time you start a new session.

It's there from previous versions... There was mods in FC2 that unlocked camera so it could even go below ground level... So - everything is possible and it can be done.
  14. Wrong again. When using any static camera (F2, F4, LCtrl+F4, F5, LCtrl+F5...) press LeftAlt+F2 and you will unlock the camera from it's default position in space, thus allowing translation of camera position away from default center position - Look in the direction you want to move away and press zoom-in command. Pressing LeftAlt+F2 again will lock the camera into current position. To reset the camera to the default position, unlock it and press Num5, then lock it if needed, or move it as you wish again. Only problem is that I don't know how to make it do it "by default" when you start the game, instead of setting it up with every new session. There was mods in FC2 that unlocked camera so it could even go below ground level... So - everything is possible and it can be done. If you need a video tutorial, let me know - I will make you one.
  15. Left Control + F4 gives you a floating camera docked to the rear side of the plane. But if you really want to learn this sim and to learn how to enjoy fully in it - learn to play exclusively in cocpit, learn the instruments and you will find your self immersed fully. As much as ArmA jets feel like crap now, and you're astonished, if you listen to this advice, you will find even more enjoyment in flying ED simulations. Welcome to our world :)

  17. And yet you just confirmed (regarding your last sentence) that they've modeled all devices to work under one rule. Which is unrealistic. It's well modeled / noise jamming? Good. Now "well model" jamming for other devices. This is A SIMULATOR, so don't give me " It would be great to have all the other myriad types of jamming (like Range gate pull off, swept spot, Deception, False target generation etc) available but we dont." WE DON'T because they choose to act as if they did a good job but in fact they did not and they ignore communities yields to fix it. There is enough data out there to make ECM better. With the existing logic - it would be perfectly fine to fit any capability onto any device. THat is not a simulator. Anyway I said I won't argue about ECM anymore because they don't give a twat to use bunch of data available to make it CLOSER to realistic. They just don't care. This is still a game. I hope it will grow into a simulator one day.
  18. Sorbytsia (Станция активных помех Л005-С. Активный ретранслятор.) is an active jammer. One of it's abilities is to decoy and give false targets to radars that are searching for it. That is not what you're all talking about. And I have only one more thing to say that will crush your theory of ECM being modeled properly in DCS: You really believe that all those different jamming devices have the same effect? And that they all work and manifest the same way - as it is set in sim? "IMO basic Noise jamming is pretty well represented in DCS." - yeah, but it is set to devices that do some other things. I think you will agree that is unrealistic. For those who are willing to go and explore - they will search and find out. After that, find someone to make you a translation of this. Разветвитель-переключатель предназначен для параллельной передачи принимаемых сигналов на все входы 37 канального смесителя и выбора формирования помех луча по входу. Смеситель + Гетеродин предназначены для получения сигналов промежуточной частоты. Временной различитель предназначен для повышения разрешающей способности станции по направлению и блокирования сигналов, принимаемых по боковым лепесткам ДНА. Определитель вида излучения предназначен для селекции сигналов всех видов излучения, принимаемых по рабочим каналам. Определитель вырабатывает сигналы на разветвитель-переключатель и устройство управления лучами для коммутации выбранных каналов. Канал ретрансляции Предназначен для формирования помеховых сигналов типа ДШ и ЛЦ БЛ. Помеха ДШ вырабатывается путем частотной модуляции ретранслированного сигнала узкополосным доплеровским шумом. Ширина спектра помехи 5КГц. Система определения и воспроизведения частоты Решаемые задачи: - замена принимаемых импульсных и квазинепрерывных сигналов непрерывным сигналом той же несущей частоты. - формирование сигналов, сопряженных по спектру с сигналами облучающих РЭС. Эти задачи решаются на промежуточной частоте 38-62Мгц. Понижение частоты входных сигналов производится с помощью смесителя и гетеродина. На выходе гетеродина вырабатывается сигнал разностной частоты fпр = fис – fг. Для получения заданного значения fпр производится поиск по частоте гетеродина. Поиск по частоте производиться в два этапа: грубый (шаг 200 МГц) и точный (шаг 2-3 МГц). Формирователь сигналов. Схема преобразования входных импульсных сигналов в непрерывные представляет собой фазовой автоподстройки. В измерителе мгновенной разности фаз с тактом Uтз определяется мгновенная разность фаз в виде двоичного кода. Значение разности фаз запоминается в ЗУ и считываются преобразователем «вход-напряжение», входными сигналами которого осуществляется фазовая модуляция. В результате импульсный сигнал «превращается» в непрерывный. Измерение мгновенной разности фаз прекращается при пропадании входного импульса, но считывание из ЗУ продолжается и в паузах между ними, так достигается непрерывность фазовой автоподстройки – ФАП. В смесителе непрерывный сигнал восстанавливается до высокой частоты uвс. Передающее устройство UВЧШ, помеха типа высокочастотный шум; UПЧС, прицельная по частоте сканирования; U0, огибающая потока входных сигналов облучающих РЭС. ВЧШ вырабатывается путем амплитудной модуляции сигнала высокой частоты с шириной спектра 1,5МГц. Негативная модуляция снижает вероятность наведения на самолет ракет , наводящихся на источник излучения. ПЧС вырабатывается в результате негативной модуляции сигналов РЭС с коническим сканированием антенного луча. Помеховые сигналы в ПРД усиливаются по мощности в усилителе мощности до 100Вт. Устройство управления лучами подключает вход усилителя мощности к излучателю передающей антенны с номером, совпадающим с номером канала приемного устройства, по которому принимаются сигналы РЭС подлежащие подавлению. В ПРД антенне отсутствуют компенсационные облучатели. Stop being so childish and go out, search for facts instead of trying to be friendly with ED. They are perfectly aware of the fact that this is not realistic at all. Puting a realistic effect of a device "A" as a realistic effect of some other device "B" is not realism. I am tired of talking to people that stuck their heads in the sand and keep saying the same all over again.
  19. You inspired me to support you and ED. I dunno what's the big deal. Let those people have their way of gameplay. Those who say things like "It's far faster and easier for them to engage, thus putting us rest to disadvantage" - you should thing how much serious planning and tactics those people use? They usualy end up as "live fast, die young, be a nice hole in the runway". And then they either quit, or start learning, get interested, buy DCS level modules. That gives ED more money to develop DCS modules, gives us more people to play with (and kill them occasionaly - in sim)... When DCS fix the network/server problems, when it fully transfers to x64, when all the problems that prevent servers from having 40-ish players are solved - who will play? 100 of us on 30 servers?
  20. Since I see that staff/testers are not answering the single posts, then I presume this is an aggregate thread for all of us made to make their job easier. So, this is what I have to report... SUM UP: 1. Su25T HUD is displaced in a manner that when you put your target designator far-left-bottom or far-right-bottom it's invisible. Alpha chanells displaced probably. 2. In Su25T when you turn on your TV device, and your Laser Designator - when you turn off the TV device, Laser Designator gets reset. That was never like that, and since these are two independent devices - I report it as a bug. 3. Since I finally found a person, a real life pilot, to confirm this logical idea that I had, I will make a following request: In real life - engaging your ECM will jam your own radar and electronic devices that are subject to the ECM frequencies. It will also jam your wingman if he is in the efective field of ECM operation. So, if you want to jam and your wingman to engage - he must take appropriate combat position so that your ECM does not affect his systems. But - that will make sense to implement only if you make the effects of ECM a bit more realistic, starting from how it's displayed on HUD up to the point that the planes in the effective range (longitudinal and directional and all relevant aspects) are affected in a manner that they can not succesfully engage enemy using electronic devices that may be subject to the ECM frequencies. So, sum up: 1. ECM must jam all those in effective range 2. ECM denies you from using your own equipment that is influenced by ECM 3. ECM graphical display on HUD and MFDs must be fixed at last so that it does not show clearly the source (bearing) from where ECM is emmited. As it is - ECM has the use of showing the direction where your enemy is - thus obliterating the meaning of ECM. 4. Fix the autoscrolling on the multiplayer server list. You've done a good job in FC2 - just repeat the good job :) I am sick and tired of game changing my selection because it scrolled. At least make it so that when it adds newly discovered servers - it does not mess up your selection on the list. 5. Occasionaly, in-game messages that are displayed in top-left corner get bugged for unknown reason and dont dissapear when should. It comes to the point that sometimes it uses up to half of the screen or more. Occasionally it happens that kill messages or chat messages stay for too long. Simple solution: add the "clear on-screen messages/history" command via code to be used from console. 6. Su25T and all other planes functionality issue: It is about time to start work on adding the emergency release/lock of the landing gear command when your hydraulic oil is spilled. Most of the planes have that. In some (like Su25T) you even have the pull-knob made that does that. So: If Hydro damaged - use emergency mechanical gear drop/lock, then game checks if it is stuck (by means of being hit or struck - that is modelled at least for Su25T), if it is not - landing gear is deployed by means of physics affected by mechanical solutions implemented in the landing gear and the gravity.   21. If it is a feature of the airplane - then ED is the ones who must provide us with tools to acomplish it's usability via mission editor. I appreciate your effort, but they are the ones who must fix this.
  22. When you turn on your TV device, and afterward your Laser Designator - if you turn off your TV device, Laser Designator resets. It should not reset. Those are two independent devices.

Temporary way of solving it: (example) Enfield - designate as fighter planes Then add subcategories by following the principle: If you have 4 groups counting 3 fighters each they are Enfield 1, Enfield 2, Enfield 3 and Enfield 4. Now let's take the group 1 - "Enfield 1". There are three planes there, and they are designated as: Enfield 1-1, Enfield 1-2 and Enfield 1-3. Springfield - Designate as in Enfield example. What do you get by that? You get that when on voice comms someone says "Enfield 1-1 to Springfield 2-1 >message<" everyone on the frequency knows that it is a leader of fighter group 1 (that has it's combat assignments briefed to all, so everyone knows what is their zone of operation, as for everyone else) talking to a leader of striker group 2. This is much more easier system to use in tactical engagement of enemy then pushing as much as possible terms into communication. It is absolutely unnecessary to give every group of planes different callsign. Maybe ED is doing it right, but we lack of organizing ourselves and giving attention to tactical aspect of simulation...
