  1. I solved the problem...I had initially opened the Multiplayer instance when I actually wanted the DCS instance. I then opened the DCS instance without realising the multiplayer instance was still open!....'Embarrassed!':)
  2. I recently updated DCSWorld followed by on 20th Dec buying the Blackshark 2 which ran O.K. Now after returning to the game after short absence when I try to start either the paid for modules, A10 or KA they will not run and I get a "Sorry only one instance allowed". Any guidance on sorting this out will be much appreciated as I really want to fly!:( Thanks in advance.
  3. MSFS Has been doing that since I think FS2004, why not DCS?
  4. Not sure if you eventually sorted your problem but after weeks of fiddling I've sorted out my one with same error code. I found some of the Forum help good but the official ticket pathetic.. Go to my thread below and follow from there. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=115598
  5. Mojoe, Agreed, should be more on the solution to this, instead of one having to find out by a round about, time consuming route. I barely have time to fly let alone this endless fiddling. Surely all these ongoing updates should function to prevent such issues. DCS Officially has done little to help and their FAQ has little in it on this error. I had in fact given up but ongoing encouragement from you guys dragged me back and thanks to your link to Sancho I would have abandoned DCS altogether and gone over to the Falcon 4 Mod. (may still look at it if I ever get the time.) I have put up another thread regarding the solution if it will help.
  6. Guys after weeks of frustration & fiddling (but NO flying) I finally got to fix the non start of DCS 0007b issue I was having.. I felt I should post this as separate thread to help others in same fix. Today I got referred by MOJOE to SANCHO's thread - link below. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87510&page=2 After using Sancho's Dependency Walker program and downloading a file he had posted, finally DCS is up and running! Seems that the D3DX9_43 I had in my Windows Sytem32 was a 32, and not a 64 bit file. Such a simple solution to such a, (for me), major problem. They say these PC's only have the intelligence of a cockroach. A child can see this but not an old cluttered brain like mine! Thanks again for sticking with me and your patience and help. Skatezilla, eXpert, Alisia, Mojoe, Sancho and other's I may have missed. Much appreciated. Hope to (eventually) see you in the skies someday. (Now to get the A10C wound up - The Falcon BMS? Maybe another day:)
  7. SUCCESS AT LAST!!! (Have made new thread on this) Today I got referred by MOJOE to SANCHO's thread - link below. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87510&page=2 After using Sancho's Dependency Walker program and downloading a file he had posted, finally DCS is up and running! 8. Sancho, After weeks of frustration & fiddling (but no flying) I got referred to your thread on this 0007b issue, downloaded your Dependency Walker and sorted out the exact same problem with your DX9my THANKYOU so much for solving a problem I had given up on!!! D3DX9_43.dll from C:\Windows\System32 Before changing it backup your original files.
  9. I tried the Dependency Walker as recommended by Mojoe (thanks - looks useful prog) and got this result on DCS.exe. If you 'techno/geek' guys can help with this will appreciate. All a bit above my head! For all these following Files was the message in red: Error opening file. The system cannot find the file specified (2) API-MS-WIN-CORE-COM-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-SHCORE-SCALING-L1-1-0.DLL DCOMP.DLL IESHIMS.DLL and D3DX9_43.DLL has in the CPU column a x86 in Red. All others x64 Finally these messages at the end. Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module. Error: Modules with different CPU types were found. Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found. Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
  10. Thanks Skatezilaa, Alisa, Mojoe, Expert, et al who have again given me a glimmer of fresh hope...DCS for me it seems, is what I am really looking for in a Modern Air Combat sim and am prepared to spend many $$$ on it, but it must run! Will take yet another look when I get more time and energy. In meanwhile now I have extra cap, have downloaded the free Falcon BMS and still to install. Maybe play around with that for a while. (Looks a huge challenge however) Skatezilla...maybe a hardware issue? But then ROF, and all my other stuff works perfectly? Am however looking at a possible new system as my boy keen on this one for LAN... maybe then? Another thing I was thinking...maybe once some of my other programs have been re-installed...just maybe... they will 'reset things'? (e.g. Silent Hunter5, Nap Total War, FSX, Panzer General 2, CS, etc etc etc.) These were already in when I originally installed DCS. OR.... maybe this is all trying to tell a 63yr old guy to no longer be messing with all this stuff but instead go and "potter about in the garden???:) BTW My complaint about support received was NOT aimed at you guys but at the 1 line, days later, "help sentence" from my ticket telling me to download from site, which did nothing anyway.
  11. skc Can't start Sim I am beginning to wonder if this "Starforce" DRM has something to do with all these game glitches. I for one have given up on the ...007b non-start issue I am having. Great game and I was planning to spend $$$ on add-on's but have become very disapointed in the game as well as the support I've received.
  12. With my new router, 1.2.6. download has got just 6 hours to go!!! Now to see if it actually will start. If not I may just take an axe to the PC!!!
  13. Thanks Expert. My 13 year old Router told me what the problem was by packing up this morning, (I think working the last 3 days was too much for it!) & I think this was why so slow. I went out and got a new one and there is a huge difference. (from <5 kb/s to 90+kb/sec!) My DCS is now due in about 16 hours instead of 10+ weeks! I installed and am using uTorrent as well. Regarding the A10C module. Must I re-download (version same as game) and install or do I just update from the game (IF DCS installs this time!) and reinsert the licence key somewhere?
  14. Don't worry re: advice on the Torrent...I've given up on that...just tooo slooow! (If I'm lucky it seems I'd only get the game in about 8 weeks!) I see downloading directly, the individual files is much faster, so should be ready to install by weeks end or earlier.
  15. You so right. 5 days 4 hours to go...sigh! (But then maybe all my peers/trackers or whatever you call them, may be gone to bed?) Any tips on speeding up this Torrent? Am using Bittorrent...have set download speed to Unlimited and reduced upload speed, and given torrent full priority. BTW: Was trying to wifi some DCS manuals to my kindle, (using wifi explorer which works in the PC browser), when I inadvertently clicked on a shortcut in my hobbies folder. Wifi explorer, showed DCS as been in \Program Files(x86) and not \Program Files as it is now. I thought ah! ha! However using Windows explorer I see it is not in (x86) on my old or new HD and is still in Program Files. Anyway I tried copying both old & new DCS folder to Program Files(x86) and after renaming one or the other, tried to start but no success. I am wondering...the final collapse of my old HD happened immediately after I had defraqgged using Ultimate Defrag...maybe it somehow screwed up some file placement and the error somehow copied across to my new HD when I copied across the old updated DCS folder. But then why would the problem still show in the "newly installed" DCS folder as well? A real detective story of (for me:) huge proportions!
  16. In darkest Afrika! Can get more and faster but it costs even more $$$!
  17. eXpert tried disabling Windows Defender as well as Avast but no change. Still must try the USB option you mentioned. One thing I've noticed is that my Kindle Fire EReader no longer USB's to the PC but think that's some Amazon trick to keep control but then maybe part of problem? (I may just root that device into a Android tablet sometime...) I have currently 'bitten the bullet' and going the route you suggested in post #28 (and as suggested by my support ticket) and am downloading via Torrent, the entire DCS game. Luckily my service provider, as a promotion this month, has added 5gb to my monthly 5, so can, (with possibly buying a little more), survive for October. It will take some time (day or two?) to get in so will look at any other (fast diminishing options) and generally get on with my life! If it still does the same thing after all that then I may just give up on DCS altogether!!! (& concentrate on ROF, Sturmovik, FSX, RTW, NTW) etc Still to re-install NTW & FSX...maybe they will put file into the system that will get DCS to work? They were already installed when I had DCS on old HD) You mentioned A10C 1.2.6. So I need to get the version that applies to the DCS game version installed? Last time I, unknowingly, downloaded the incorrect A10C version and then was guided to update the A10C from within the game itself with the correct one. I guess I then have to put in licence key once I want to use the A10c module. Thanks for your concern and help. I guess if one does not treat this all as an interesting challenge/hobby one would go mad! (I would really just like to fly!!!)
  18. It does not extract at all. All I get on clicking the icon is message that "it is not a valid Win32 application" even when I run as administrator and it does nothing else. Am I stupid here or is there something I am missing or is the download corrupt?
  19. Downloaded and tried to install the DX9 Standalone and it will not install. All I get is that "it is not a valid Win32 application"
  20. Checked in Windows\sysWOW64\ and d3d9.dll is there as is d3d8.dll, d3d10.dll, d3d11.dll , there also numerous d3dx9.dll's etc so that not problem. (wish it was!) Anyway if I want to replace with another copy of DX9 how do I bypass the 'refuse to instal' over newer copy Dx message?
  21. I wish I had made an error in the renaming giving us the simple solution we looking for but it is not. I renamed the newly installed DCS World folder to DCS World New and then copied over the DCS World from the old HD and ran the sim from that. Whatever I've run from is the correctly named folder. I even tried copying DCS World Folder to c:\ but still no luck. I must say I was told some time back recommendation to only install Sturmovik and RTW with their mods in C:\ and not Program Files or Program Filex86 so maybe some merit in what eXpert says. Still has not worked yet with sorting this DCS issue out.
  22. eXpert, Thanks for your "glimmer of light on the horizon?" I will have to check finances, remaining bandwidth etc but out of desperation have been toying with going that route. I may look at uncapped as messing about with 5gb a month is no longer working with all this modern stuff. I originally installed DCS World from a PC Pilot magazine cd and purchased the A10 key from site and updated it. May give it a go once I get time and bandwidth sorted. Will let you know how it goes and also look at tweaking once things are finally running.
  23. Tharos, It does not work even if I try to run from the newly installed folder. (i.e. change new renamed DCS folder and then rename the copied one) Re: DX9 I try to install that but I just get a message telling me that I have a later version of DirectX and it will not install. Must I try and force install DX9 or is the later version DX10/11 adequate? and ... how do I force install DX9?
  24. Thanks A1 for adding your brain power. I am desperate to try anything! Will give it a go when I get a gap. I'm not sure if it was HD or Virus or something else that caused the initial HD problem. Most likely software related as old HD works perfectly now. One thing that has been niggling me is that someone on this list told me in order to save bandwidth for updating I must do the following which I did: (1) Install DCS from the CD onto new HD (2) Change the name of DCS folder. (3) Copy across entire updated DCS folder from old HD to same location. (which I still had). (4) Run DCS from there. This I did and updated now the error. (which occurs even if I try running from the installed DCS) I just wondered maybe this could have caused the issue, having 2 folders of DCS, even though one had different name??? Most frustrating. All my other games such as ROF etc running well including a number of old one's such as modded Sturmovik, RTW etc etc working well. (which I also just copied across)With all these updates why can there not be a patch to sort this out. Only DCS has this issue.
  25. Skatezilla Can you post as suggested? (Ie I can ZIP/RAR Them and Post them for 64-Bit Systems) Do you do it here or do you need my email?
