  1. I'm reading Vipers in The Storm by Keith Rosenkranz (great book BTW). He was a Viper driver at Al Minhad during Operation Desert Shield. According to him around the base they were flying around monstrous sand dunes sometimes as high as 800 feet. In DCS in Persian Gulf map whole desert is pretty flat and boring... Could we have such features? It doesn't seem too hard to implement.
  2. Yes, because when you are in this situation, you have already lost your airspeed and the bandit can easily take advantage on that. I would like to see some additional feedback for 3, 4, 5, ... Gs. The sound of the wind passing canopy increasing with airspeed would be also nice, as you also get this in real.
  3. Hello, Since there is no fly-by-wire to save us from overstressing the aircraft from high G pulls, woudn't be nice if we had more G-feedback? Now, I need to watch airspeed and G indicator all the time during the dogfight. It is pretty dificult since they are in 2 separate places. In the real aircraft pilots are used to feel the Gs and release the stick if they are pulling too hard. I think it would be great if we had some option to see if we are pulling more Gs with some graphical/sound effects. Without this it is very hard for me to keep the corner speed in turns... What do you think?
  4. Yes, the rotation is very slow. Yo will finally change it, but it takes lots of time. Try pressing SHIFT and then rotating. I have already filed a bug for this.
  5. Hi, Some gauges are very hard to read in VR, and not because they are small. Even leaning forward doesn't help. It is because of low contrast between color of digits and their background. For example - two first digits of barometric altitude indicator, remaining fuel, Bingo Fuel. The another issue comes with the counter that shows how many rounds are remaining for a gun. I did try several times, with different lightning, but I cannot read it in VR. The glass cover is just too weathered. Thanks for checking.
  6. Hi, I am using mouse wheel to rotate Bingo Fuel Knob at it takes forever just to change it for another 100 pounds. It is imposible to set desired value with current state. Thanks for checking.
  7. Thank you for your responses. I tried your suggstions to correct head position and now everything seems fine. Hence the cockpit size is alright, just the head position is wrong.
  8. That is good workaround, but I don't want to change IPD everytime I switch to different aircraft. F14's cockpit seems to me as tight as P51's, which doesn't seem right. Even with laser scanning, II assume there should be some parameter, just like IPD that scales everything in VR.
  9. Hello, First of all - congratulations of your work. F14 looks truly like a product of love and I am already missing flying it while I am at work! However, I feel that cockpit in VR is just too small. I have heard stories of real world F14 pilots and RIOs that said that there was pretty lots of space comparing to the other aircraft. Thanks for checking. UPDATE: I have tried to lean forward and recenter and now it looks fine. The cockpit size is OK, but please fix the head position.
  10. Hi all, I have one issue after recent update. For some reason I cannot move my throttles above MIL power. Even though I am moving my physical throttles full forward, 'in game' throttles stop at MIL point. My HOTAS is calibrated correctly. Is there any 'lock/unlock' switch for that now? Thanks

    IFF?

... is a must for you. Not for everyone.
  12. Thank you for your comments. I was suspecting this might be a 'special case', but I was able to repeat this take off for a second time, so it felt too easy. Probably, the reason is that in the real life the exact same variable set (carrier speed, wind, turbulences, plane config) needed for such successful take off wouldn't repeat so easily, while in DCS it is as easy as to reload the whole scenario.
  13. Hello, I am not sure if it is a bug, but it seems likely. It is possible to take off with full afterburner and flaps. Video is here: This is a Persian Gulf, Case I Landing instant action. Track is in attachment. Thanks for this amazing module. carrier_take_off.trk
  14. Take A10C and you won't regret it. But be ready for a steep learning curve, if you haven't been using such complicated avionics before. If you want something really fun and totally different, take Mig-21. It looks complicated, but in the end it is pretty simple to fly. Cockpit is extremely immersive, specially in VR. It doesn't have fancy targeting systems, but with some training, you are able to take out whole convoy with one, high speed pass. And it makes you scream like a little girl when you fly supersonic, just over tree tops and trying to dodge incoming tracers.
