DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Lt.Seahawk replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I can already see me as a RIO looking over my pilots shoulder while approaching an aircraft carrier on a rainy and windy day assisting him with calling out the airspeed and altitude. Can't wait! -

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015
Lt.Seahawk replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Already have that one, can highly recommend it! -
mvsgas got this completely right, as a aircraft mechanic in the military I can just confirm what he posted before. Arming, preparing and dropping MK-82s for example is a lot more than just loading up a bomb on whatever station and dropping it wherever you want to have it. There are safety and arming wires for example that need to be hung into the loading station to ensure that it arms itself while releasing it from that before mentioned station. There are also settings that need to be configured by the arming crews on the ground before taking it into the sky and towards the range. Not every plane can adjust its LD/HD times for example during flight, this needs to be done on the ground on the detonator itself. Also did you knew that there are fixed configurations on how to set it up on a mass deployment? If you drop multiple bombs f.e there is a chance that they will collide into each other while dropping them, to ensure that they don't detonate while colliding the arming delay time is set longer than on a single drop. Hell I can write a whole book about this, I hope I made this a little clearer though, there are way more settings you can make on guided and unguided bombs, I guess it's just not implemented due to classification reasons. If there are more questions just let me know.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
Lt.Seahawk replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Don't bother him, probably another aviation geek that is annoyed of waiting and didn't realized that this month has more than 19 days. :joystick: -
can we have a February Monthly update :)
Lt.Seahawk replied to plehmann's topic in Heatblur Simulations
How about reading through the rest of the forum before posting? It was already mentioned by Cobra that there will be a Monthly Update in February. Patience is the key. -
I don't know if any of you guys ever had the experience with a real fighter going into a ditch or a field but I can assure you that once you hit the grass with just one wheel the airplane will start to sink into the ground due to its weight and it's almost impossible to get it back out by it's own. I've seen a few fighters getting stuck (f.e a pilots cellphone fell down into the pedal area during taxing, he instantly tried to pick it back up and didn't watched where he was going which ended in the result of being stuck in the field right next to the shelter, now explain that to your CO!).

HOTAS Warthog Problem (Stick related!)
Lt.Seahawk posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have a Problem Guys I hope someone can help me. I ordered a new Stick since I sold my old one like a half a year ago. I connected it to the Computer and the Throttle and Stick showed up in the Device Manager as successfull installed. Also the HOTAS Warthog Driver didnt threw out anything suspicous during the installation. In DCS and the TARGET Manager I only see the Throttle and not the Stick! I deinstalled the Driver and disconnected/connected it to the PC again and still have the same problem. Also rebooted, still no working Stick in the Game. Is there anything else I can do? Im getting frustrated here... Thanks in advance. -
I will try my luck with this simple Post while being on R&R over the holidays, before heading back to my military aircraft mechanic academy in January again :). Good luck yall and happy holidays!

Hey Guys I hope someone can help me here, I tried to get this Tornado working: https://elite-pilots.net/index.php?page=DatabaseItem&id=24 I did it exactly the way it is described there but all of a sudden I cant overwrite anything, there is no Tornado.Zip in the mentioned folder. Even If I place it in there Its not flyable at all. Is there anything Im doing wrong, or has anything been changed with the latest patches? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the heads up, I really love to fly on the 104th server as a hog driver, is there a way to add some more stuff for us A-10 pilots such as JTACs and a slower flying tanker, would be awesome. Regards Seahawk aka Hipshot

Wow looks fantastic, really realistic. Keep it up!

Washington State custom map project
Lt.Seahawk replied to Uriah's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Look at this guy, 15 Forum posts and already has a good looking map  I like ya. Is it hard to import the mesh data into 3DSMax? I was thinking about fort rucker as a map. -
I want to implement a sound when a medic call comes in, does anybody know how to do that? I opened the .lua but cant find something similar.
-
I think it's not a huge difference if you get shot at with or without doors, the metal is so thin it'll make the projectile flying wild in different directions inside the chopper anyways. I would love to see all doors removed, pilot, copilot and the two sliding side doors.
-
Oh I got it, yeah the Huey in DCS doesn't simulate the earplugs or hradphones/helmet you are wearing, I've been flying with it in real for quite some time and never experienced it that loud with a helmet on.
-
I took a ride on a Huey back when I was Infantry a few years ago, I was sitting next to the door and it was open. It wasnt THAT loud and the sound is just awesome, cant get enough of it.
-
Well I hope that Belsimtek will make us a lighter Huey Version then, someday.
-
Hope they did so, I would love to see one without doors.
