Question regarding ALL DCS products Is there a "lock on mode" that doesn't force you to use the entire cockpit and can play like in FC2-3 aka with for example start engines = Shift+home not make it retardedivley difficult (i realise that the cockpits full interaction is the selling point but id like to fly the huey and shark without any of the DCS stuff forced into the experience id like to fly them like i fly FC2) If i need to clarify anything let me know.
  2. Ok, but whats the coin about this. My current HOTAS is a Mad Catz F.L.Y 5 is the X52 better in regards to precision, less mechanical deadzone and mechanical ofcentering because thats what im currently getting bugged by. btw going for the X52 Pro not standard

So yeha im thinking of getting a Saitek X52 but I've heard so much bad stuff about it (buttons going awol, hyperbugs, Axises going awol and the like) and I'm wondering (from people with experience aka own a X52) have you had any these problems or any problems for that fact because i want to just hook it up, configure and go play FC2 and not have any trouble after that.
  4. Ok thaniks, but updating a waypoint position based on a units current position should be possible, i mean some campagins do this i belive.

  6. Which (free) program(s) should i use if i want these functionalities in LO:FC2. 1. Radar 2. Maverick screen 3. Data (ECM on/off, Flaps positiion, ligths mode, gear position etc) 4. F10 View 5. Notepad 6. Checklists Any suggestions are appreciieated
  7. For example at the moment you cant hold S24 rockets on the SU33s fuselage pylons, is there a way to get around that? (Is there like a mod that "breaks"/"bypasses" this?) Also if it works could you add the SU25T's gunpods to the SU33 eventough "Progr" mode and depression wont work? Just to clarify i wont be playing online with this.
  8. Hi, I'm making a Ground attack mission here and i have a few questions. (I'm using FC2 So please refer to stuff that works in FC2) I've searched around and havn't gotten anything that is for FC2 1. I want to make it so that when the player ejects a smoke marker is added at his landing spot and a helicopter flies to his position and lands near his position (30m's tops) and when the player gets within 5 meters of the helo he will be recovered (aka trigger RCVR without him doing it/ being able to manually) after that the helo should return to its starting position and get ready to redo the procedure. 2. What does the Begin and End loop waypoints do? 3. How do i make a unit patrol/cycle inbetween 2 waypoints? (aka make 2 waypoints and have him move to one and the the other infinitely) 4. Do ground units and helicopters have infinte ammo? and if not how do i provide them with that? 5. I want to make an improvised runway that provides Refuel, Rearm and Repair and if possible allows AI to land there aswell (aka i want to make an airbase on a road) 6. How do i make units move to another unit when a condition is met (The unit will be moving so i want it to be able to update the position and move there) 7. How do i make an AI Rearm, Repair and Refuel at an airbase using the editor? 8. How do i make Infantry spawn around a vehicle when that vehicle fills a conditiion (is destroyed, reeached a waypoint etc) 9. How do i add respawning AI? ( i found a few but i cant comprehend how to use them :helpsmilie:) 10. How do i make AI preform section starts and landings with me as the Flight leader (i know runway start allows for section starts but how do iset this up from a ramp start?)? Any help is really aprreciated.

I bought it instead of FC3 for several reasons but the largest one is that I had watched so many FC2 videos and tutorials that It would be more convenient for me to get FC2 eventhough almost all things carry over. Scan Zone Yes I do know what the scan zone indicators mean, the ones along the vertical axis show diffrent altidudes that the radar scans at during its Low, Mid and High passes and the horizontal one indicates the width of scan along the horizontal plane and to clarify i do let the radar make the sweeps before setting a diffrent altitude to scan. ( I'm like 99% sure that I've got this part covered, but hey maybe I'm wrong c: ) SEAD About the SEAD Scenario lets say that im going up against an OSA+BUK battery by the coastline in a layer of Tunguska cover along with the occational ZSU truck here and there (so basicly how would i go about to kill the OSA and BUKs while not being killed by Tunguskas when i unmask to attack them with mavs) Notching I just searched for notching and i seem to find alot of people discussing this but none of them actually say how preform this "notch", seems like im the only bloke here who hasn't got a clue how to preform this other than terrain masking (if this is even considered notching) or doppler blending (90% sure this isn't modeled in FC2 but most likely is in FC3, so Im kinda U2O here) Some threads say notching is supposed to put you in a position where the emiter (if Semi-Active it will be the opposing aircraft and if Active the missile itself) is looking down att you in a way that forces the emmiter to look att ground if it wants to look at you and this will supposedly break the Radar lock?) Some threads say it is turning to make the missile/emmiter to your 3 or 6 o'clock (so you beam it?) while moving away from the opposing emmiter (esentially applying motion camoflauge, but this would be ridicoulouslly difficult) (I'm really lost here please clarify and explain) Cranking Is apparently Placing the target aircraft att the edge of your SARH Ring (allowing you to still transmit data to said missile while increasing the amount of energy the opponents missile will have to use to hit you) Missile Evasion within the RTR (Range Turn and Run) / NEZ (No Escape Zone) So yeah how would i go about avoiding missiles in the RTR/NEZ? I mean CM and ECM is out of the game atm because hes most likely also within MESD so ... is it possible even, it has to be but im just unable to do it. Walking Yeah only one problem, BMP-3's and Anything else that is able to fire a gun wont give you that luxury and will somehow always hit(and to do severe damage) before i can get my bombs of, doesn't matter wheter im in a dive or how hard that dive is or what my speed is this always happens.:badmood: Damage Yeah i thought so, damn so there's like no handy tips or what not (certain button mappings that really help in some situations except the trim and Jettisons?)
  10. Hi, I've now gotten my hands on FC2 and have some rookie questions. (I've searched the forums and i haven't found the answers, chill) 1. How do i repair an aircraft without using RCVR (you actually repair and not thrash the one im in and get a new) 2. How do i add a custom loadout that the ground crews can load because by just making one in the PL does not work. 3. How do i get something on my radar even when I've used Scan zone up/down and went through all ranges? are there any steps i could take to increase my chances of getting a bogey on the scope? 4. Do SUU-25 LUU-2's (Para-Flare dispensers) have any effect on IR missiels or are they 100% for illum or do they have other uses? 5. Can i get my Maverick screen not to jump of my last target when i fire? (remember FC2) 6. Missile Avoidance, I've searched like crazy on this and have found nothing of use can someone explain the steps i need to tkae to defeat a missile except doing what im currently doing (throwing the plane into turn-spins from hell) (also i know about flanker training but the MA one didn't help me understand any of the factors of MA) 7. How do i survive unscaved from SEAD missions? (i get Fk'ed HARD here) 8. How do i view my own skins ingame aka how do i install them? 9. Can missiles be defeated att any range? (again missiles that target me is almost 100% hits even with counter meassures and manouvering) 10. How do i go about increasing my accuarcy during bombing, currently i release with the CCIP pipper right over the target and it misses and doesn't take him out, am i missing some factors here or what? 11. what tips can you give me on flying damaged aircraft back to base in general, i know each situation is diffrent but in general. (i try to trim out the diffrence already but anything else?)
