Kinda want to upgrade, but in my country all PC prices went crazy high.. waiting to drop a bit (some more white hair will appear for sure by that).
Not using overclock at all, afraid of this old rig to not enjoy some extra party, furthermore I'm zero capable to do such thing.
Virtual memory is something mystical for me.. some missions gave me some crash to desktop issues, and I adventured in this area increasing virtual memory, which in fact resolved that issue somehow.
But I don't really understand that. In terms of performance/stutters, it didn't really matter if virtual memmory is 4GB or 16GB, the performance is the same.
(yeah, don't know, technically saying, what's going under the hood, just like to mess around with settings).
DCS is stored in D : driver (print attached).. "JOGOS" = "Games" in portuguese language.
Sorry, but didn't undestand "I would bump it up to 32,768 at least.", on what this would help... reserve some memory to system?
My driver is HDD, 27% free (500GB in total)... almost all reserved for DCS modules. Thinking carefully which next module would be.
That % of space could result in lower performance? Hum... not thought of that...
I did notice huge drop performance when choosing "high/low" terrain textures, even though not visually see that much difference. I spent hours testing that, on different terrains and variables, and Syria indeed is the most demanding so far (I know, early acces and so)... my 12G rig cries when I intend to load that terrain.
Don't worry with questions, I like to learn with others experiences, and to share mine.
