  1. Hello I have the same CPU as yours, and also had these kind of lag/freezes for a couple of months, starting as soon as the main screen appears. Not sure of the freezing that you are experiencing is the same as mine. I tried almost everything that other folks suggested in this forum (disable GPU acceleration, add DCS folder in Windows Defender exclusion, delete FXO/Metashader folders etc etc). The only thing that actually worked was de-flag the CPU 0 in the DCS's processor afinity (attached). The freezes (that can take up to 8 seconds) go away as soon as that box is de-flagged. I am no computer expert, I have no idea how that workded, but well, I have experienced zero lags/freezes so far. Hope that helps you as well.
  2. Thanks! I'll try that. Yeah, adding a SSD sure is a 'cheap' step to get a better experience.
  3. Kinda want to upgrade, but in my country all PC prices went crazy high.. waiting to drop a bit (some more white hair will appear for sure by that). Not using overclock at all, afraid of this old rig to not enjoy some extra party, furthermore I'm zero capable to do such thing. Virtual memory is something mystical for me.. some missions gave me some crash to desktop issues, and I adventured in this area increasing virtual memory, which in fact resolved that issue somehow. But I don't really understand that. In terms of performance/stutters, it didn't really matter if virtual memmory is 4GB or 16GB, the performance is the same. (yeah, don't know, technically saying, what's going under the hood, just like to mess around with settings). DCS is stored in D : driver (print attached).. "JOGOS" = "Games" in portuguese language. Sorry, but didn't undestand "I would bump it up to 32,768 at least.", on what this would help... reserve some memory to system? My driver is HDD, 27% free (500GB in total)... almost all reserved for DCS modules. Thinking carefully which next module would be. That % of space could result in lower performance? Hum... not thought of that... I did notice huge drop performance when choosing "high/low" terrain textures, even though not visually see that much difference. I spent hours testing that, on different terrains and variables, and Syria indeed is the most demanding so far (I know, early acces and so)... my 12G rig cries when I intend to load that terrain. Don't worry with questions, I like to learn with others experiences, and to share mine.
  4. i5 2500 + 12GB ram + gtx970 senior rig.. Despite that, it still give fair potential and joy, not too fancy with the settings though..
  5. Hey @rayrayblues, noticed you use "fast" as vertical sync in NVCP, and in my case I see stutters everywhere with that. Have you tried to use "on" for instance, as baseline for smooth playing? Did you see any stutter, btw? Yeah, I'm the one "low rig crazy" that sit at the end of day and spend hours playing with the settings..
  6. Hey segax, I feel your pain. I have a 'similar' system (i5 2500 + 12GB RAM + GTX970) and played a lot with the different graphic options. Some tips for you to test before buying any PC part: - Make sure you have Power Management mode set as "Performance" on NVIDIA Control Panel (screenshot below); - Set Cutter/Grass to zero (DCS option); - Set Terrain Object Shadows set to Off (DCS option). For me it resolved some stutter/low FPS when taxing or flying low in choppers. Cheers!
  7. Just sharing my silly experience with this as well. I too faced that FPS drop when upgrading to 2.7, and did almost everything already said before (clean DCS install, roll back nvidia driver to older one, clean FXO and metashaders etc etc..). All without a major improvement, so I started to downgrade graphics and at some point I got left Alt + Enter (instead of Alt + Tab) and... Taaa daaaaaa!!! Just like magic, another game. Started to raise the settings again to the point I'm quite happy, running at 60 FPS basically (settings attached). TL;DR Give left Alt + Enter a try My senior rig: i2500K / 12GB RAM / GTX 970 Have vsync active in nvidia control
  8. + 1 On my end, even on first reboot or internet disconnected this issue persists. After a few tries I can get game running (don't know yet what could trigger it to run though)..
  9. Hello! Sorry being a little offtopic here. I recently bought a new x52 Pro and found an issue with X axis. The axis will go full with half pull of the joystick. Already tried to move all directions, trying to recalibrate, but issue persists. Drivers are up to date: 7.0.53.6, using W10 64 bits. Any of you guys have experienced this? Thanks!
