  1. Hi all, I'm in the process of altering my setup at home. As a consequence I'm going to be selling my flight seat. If anyone in th UK is interested please drop me a message. Fly safe! Dave
  2. Poor guy. no, really. I feel his pain. My special edition version of DCS A-10c came from Amazon with this really hot girl attached...she did the install and activated the software for me. She started up the program and sat me down and ran the tutorial for me. She even brought me a beer. She then sat with my wife and explained that for the foreseeable future, I might not be helping her with the shopping/ironing/cleaning or indeed getting into bed early enough to have a "meaningful relationship." So, I do, really feel for this poor poor guy. Give him a break hey? He may not yet even had to explain his lack of "Airtime." With girls, so some frustration is totally understandable.... I understand SPI and SOI but what is a serial number? Hot chick sorted that.. Sounds to me that if he ever gets into the game and starts to use it, we may have to open a sticky thread for his rantings!!!! :) I've not played for 8 days as I'm on vacation and I want to go home. Withdrawal sucks. Damnfoolman
  3. Hi all, Minor update.. I took the joystick off, and rotated it 20 or 30deg. It was uncomfortable sitting straight at me. I've made no change in TARGET. It seems more natural now. Certainly more ergonomic. Otherwise I'm loving it! D
  4. Thanks for the advice. I plan on doing that very thing. D
  5. Well it's sorted.....kinda. Tried the setup on an older laptop with XP and another with Vista. No go on any. So I called Maplins, hoping for a return to TM for fixing. They did not offer that option, and they have none in stock, so I boxed everything up and got a no quibble no effort refund in the local store. Great customer service. I tried to find a retail outlet, but there seem to be none stocking the TMHW here in the UK. So I have a new one inbound from another online store for delivery on Tuesday. Same cost too which is a huge bonus. Lets hope this one works for longer than 5 weeks..... D
  6. TM Hotas Warthog... Latest drivers from the TM site. Latest Firmware loads into the Throttle but not the Joystick. The pc is an i7 with loads of ram etc etc 1gb graphics thing, and importantly it was all working just fine. Ive tried all 6 USB slots on my pc MB and a powered hub too. The throttle shows in the game controller and I can see axis buttons working etc and it works in the game, the joystick will not. But it does show as an HID device and on the device manager, drivers say they are working and the most up too date. I've uninstalled reinstalled using various techniques suggested in the many threads on several forums. There are a number of threads, many great suggestions, sometimes it suddenly works after several reinstalls sometimes not. I guess mine is a not! Thanks for the reply. Dave
  7. Hi all Well it's struck early here. WH only 7 weeks old. Joystick just failed to respond in the A10 with no warning... Joystick will not update firmware, and although it's showing as an installed device, working, yeah right, but not showing in game controllers, and of course not working in my A10. Gutted. Spent hours today doing all of the things helpful members have already posted about. The bulk the normal the USB slots, the flashing.....:smilewink: Hold down these buttons put in the USB dont tick this......AAaRRgGgG Diddly. So I've sent TM a message, lets see what they say. I'm guessing Maplins will have to have it back for repair or better still replacement. Throttle is fine.....so far. So I get my seat and screen etc all set in perfect order and this happens....not one mission flown and I'm in withdrawal. I am less than pleased as I was just getting the hang of the various short this, long that, soi here, etc etc. Anyhow. I guess I'm stuffed for a little while. Dave
  8. Hi, Sorry I should have been clearer on the cost! 40 Euro for the delivery and 480 Euro for the seat. It says on the site that you pay extra for the right side shelf, but it came with mine at no additional cost. The monitor is an LG 42" Worst thing is that after installing everything my PC took a BIOS Flash and stopped working. It's in the shop being fixed under warranty. I took a laptop home from work but it's so awfully slow I've given up trying to run A10. Should be fixed and back in time for a weekend of flying. Hope I've not forgotten everything I've managed to learn.... Thanks for the comments guy's Dave
  9. Hi all, OK so, I ordered the Flight seat from Speedmaster in Germany, and paid online. It took 5 day's from order to delivery which for €40 is very good indeed. The seat came in two boxes, one with the seat itself, and the other (Heavy) box with the frames and surfaces. The pieces fitted together very well, although I did need to make an adjustment for the seat and centre joystick mount, just needed to drill out the panel as it was around 3mm too narrow to align with the seat/bolt fixing. The seat itself is firm and sturdy on the base. It also has a slider built into it so you can adjust distance from the pedals/consoles. This also makes getting in and out easier. I took my Warthog Stick off of the base by removing the 4 screws. Using the base as a template I drilled holes into the plate which sits under the seat. I did need to go and buy 4 longer screws to attach the stick as the original screws are about 5mm too short. These cost very little indeed and were in the first hardware store I visited. I already had a basic stand from my original cockpit, and amazingly it works with the Speedmaster! Perfect height and distance for the screen to sit. Just plain luck. I attached all of the controls, which fit extremely well. I thought the MFD's might be a problem sitting near the screen, but they don't obstruct the view much at all. I have to say I'm very pleased with the seat. It is extremely functional, and comfortable too. I'm 1.9m tall and 90kgs so 6ft 2" and 14Stn And I fit in very easily. To keep the review honest and impartial I have to put the good and bad out there. I did recieve some damaged parts, but it was not a problem for me as I'm not that worried. But if you were a perfectionist it might bother you. A scratched foot plate, and some damage to the keyboard section, which had been badly repaired...again not a big issue for me. You cannot see the scratches on the footplate as it's covered by the pedals, and the corner is so dark as to be almost invisible unless you really look for it. So in conclusion. If you are looking for a good compact seat, this is perfect. Especially for the Thrustmaster Warthog controls. My customer experience with Speedmaster was second to none, good communications and I was provided with tracking information for the delivery. Purchasing online through Paypal is simplicity itself, and allows great security too. Think about how you will set up your screen, they do also sell a screen mount too. I can say I'm very satisfied with the product. I hope someone finds this review to be helpful. Dave.
  10. Hi all, This is my 1st post as I only just bought the A10C Software. Been doing the tutorials....and enjoying them too. Complicated at first, with all the abbreviations and modes etc etc. I've been enjoying this game so much that I've completely rearranged my 'pit setup from a projector and Saitek controller to a 42" LED Screen, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and Dual MFD. I ordered a Speedmaster Flight seat online last Friday, and it arrived this morning, which is amazing service. Only €40.00 Shipping from Germany to the UK. Planning to set it all up on Monday as I have to work all weekend..... I'll put up a review of how it all fit's together! DFM
