I purchased the AJ37 on Heatblur. How would I activate it on my account with the module manager to download it tomorrow so it says on the website that I have purchased it?
-
I'm all for this and it may pull a few from the other sims, I would be happy for them to fly circuits.
ED should do the AC-130 / AC-130 Spectre Gunship first. Spectre together with A-10C, perfect match for CAS missions. Multi Crew Spectre how much fun would that be!
1st AC-130 cargo missions
AC-130 Spectre CAS
Then the KC-135
This would be amazing!
I still like the aspect of having a person controlling a tanker. :)
To much money at the risk of the governments multi-million dollar plane making contact with an AI.
-
I know this sounds stupid but for those who would like to do this in the future or just want to see how they do it. A fully functional KC-135 would be an amazing thing to experience in the sim. Of course hours of just sitting but could be very useful and maybe better than just the old AI. It would be fully modeled and detailed from the front to the rear. You could have it multi-crewed for a person to refuel aircraft with the boom and control the boom. Maybe have them insert voice communication by frequency and intercom when boom is connected. All while maintaining a fuel balance. Even after you may branch it out with a E-3 for AWACS. It's all great thoughts that could work with time.

There will only be one dev capable of doing the F-4 over the "short term"... Leatherneck... and only after successfully completing the F-14A. The key being the development of reasonably good/realistic/immersive AI for a RIO/WSO in the back seat, preferably with the option to support a 2nd player as the guy in back.
Alternatively, the buttons/switches available to the RIO/WSO that are unavailable to the pilot would have to be operated by the pilot via mapped keys/joystick buttons. I have the Simworks Studios F-4B for FSX and can reasonably operate the radar without having to switch to a backseat view to the point of searching, tracking, and killing a target with an AIM-7 Sparrow.
Given the existence of the MiG-21bis, it makes so much sense to provide an F-4E to create another historically important dueling pair, much like the MiG-15/F-86, Fw190/P-51, and Su-27/F-15.
I believe the F-4E would be nice because of the gun and upgraded systems. However the F-4G would be nice for SEAD since previously said it was used until the 90's for the USAF. The F-16 has since taken over that role. I am thinking of perhaps a dev making a base model F-4. Then making expansions to that model. Say you want to make a F-4C and then a D and an E and later the G. Maybe even the F-4B and then J and S. Since they're the same aircraft it might be easy to develop expansions. Maybe that's just the way I have seen it but it would be a major money maker for devs and a huge enjoyment for the consumer.

F-4 is needed with incoming Vietnam era aircraft!
Multiple Vietnam era aircraft are being developed and the F-4 in general just needs to be developed because you can't think of Nam without the F-4. I would pay for it multiple times over just to support the people who made such an iconic aircraft. I don't care which model.(preferably the C, D, or E, or even the G that was used in the 90's) We need more 3rd party devs so our banks aren't full of cash waiting on the next aircraft!:music_whistling:

Would anyone please be willing to send me the default trackir 5 templates? They have been missing ever since I have reinstalled everything on my computer and I need them.
"TemplatesIf you wish to save a curve that you have created as a template for use with other curves or profiles, click the “+” next to the Templates dropdown. This will add the curve template to the list. To change the template name, type a new name in the field and then press “enter.” Remove a template by pressing the “Delete” button (minus sign). Stock Templates include One:One, Deadzone, Smooth, Fast, and Slow.
One:One
Adapted from the One:One default profile, this template is completely unscaled, giving an exact 1:1 ratio between actual and in-game head movement.
Deadzone
Inspired by the Default profile, this template has moderate speed of motion with a large dead zone. When head movement is relatively stationary, in-game view will not move. Movement will slow when crossing the mid-point of axes.
Smooth
Inspired by the Smooth profile, this template has moderate speed of motion with a very slight dead zone. Actual head movement must be more stationary to keep in-game view still than with a dead zone, but movement will be smoother when moving across all axes.
Fast
Adapted from the Smooth template, this template has aggressive motion with a very slight dead zone. In-game view control will require less actual head movement, but actual head movement must be very stationary to keep in-game view still. Movement will be smooth when moving across all axes.
Slow
Adapted from the Smooth template, this template has gentle motion with a very slight dead zone. In-game view control will require more actual head movement, but actual head movement does not need to be as stationary to keep in-game view still. Movement will be smooth when moving across all axes. "
If someone would wrap these up for me that would be amazing!
Thank you again,

Maybe one of the ED guys could look at the coding and see if the GPU(ATI 5450) is working with the new engine and such. Don't know how it all works but I would like to get flying with him again in DCS. :):helpsmilie::thumbup::pilotfly::joystick:
-
I do not know code so I can not comment.
Trying to run DCS on a HD 5450 with 1GB DDR3 is asking a little to much of the card.
Just my opinion, but he may need an upgrade.
I don't either. I was just curious with it. He was able to run 1.2 well with his GPU. I was able to run it but with 1.5 I am getting a 50-80% better FPS with my ASUS AMD 7770 2gb. My thinking is if DCS ran without crashing on start like the original person who posted then his 5450 he would get better performance.
-
My friend is having exactly the same problem. He has the exact same card. The 5450 is supposed to be compatible with DX11 which the DCS engine runs on now. He updated his drivers and everything and is still having the exact same issue. I wonder if it could be a coding issue with the new DCS engine or a GPU structure issue? Any help is greatly useful for my friend. He's been trying to get this running for about 4 months now.
As always
Thanks,

Just refueling now since the lights work on the tanker! :joystick::thumbup:

F-4 Phantom???
If Cobra has a black sheep on his avatar?
A phantom is dark, and the goat is dark and black.
The F-4 is named the phantom.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAM!!!!:) F-4 phantom is a possibility!
MiG-21's were like killing baby sheep compared to the Phantom.
They're already working on getting shared cockpit for the F-14.
Phantom has two people.

Illuminati Confirmed
well then, lets decrypt his pic...IF you google cobra-goat you get pictures of cobras strangling goats...
you know what else strangles goats!?!?!
vipers...
DCS F-16 Confirmed! :P
I have just been told that the F-16's wing is triangle shaped.
I believe this has been done by the Illuminati...................................... If this is a thing, I am very excited!!!! :):):):)

As per the post, Put it in here:
"This can be put into the MiG-21\keyboard\default.lua and can be used to toggle the mirrors on and off like in the other modules."
Then you should see it in you options menu key mapping.. Judging from the script " m" will be the default on/off
Is this done through the user\(users profile)\saved games\DCS? where would I edit this into the lua? Does it not matter or should I put it at the bottom.
-
Mirror script/always off
A manual way to add this functionality:{combos={{key="M"}},down = iCommandToggleMirrors, name = _('Toggle mirrors'), category = _('General')},This can be put into the MiG-21\keyboard\default.lua and can be used to toggle the mirrors on and off like in the other modules.
Where someone linked me to. I had tried to put the script in but I have no clue where to put it in. Not to mention I have no clue where to select so the mirrors are always on. I have found in videos that the mirror in this is actually pretty much needed to see if there is a bogey on your tail. If someone could give a pretty good detailed description of what I need to do then that would be very helpful!

Grom kill against F-15
I was chasing a F-15 from behind and I had two special missiles on me. My name since then has been changed to theAMERICANeagle for now on.

On this picture you can see a secondary explosion of the F-15! :)

-
Would someone be able to help me out on how to put the command line into the lua file? I don't even know where the folder is to be honest with you guys.
-
I was just posting this to mess around with the guys here, but only because almost all Russian aircraft are not complete until they have a working fan. :)
-
I believe many would be gladly paying a extra for upgrade to modern version. So it could be like Mig-21Bison to Mig-21Bis as Black Shark 2 was for Black Shark.
So it would require the Bis to be bought, and this way offer a low price for upgrade like 15-20.
Think about upgrading a plane as multiple variations? You would always need the older one too.
I believe this they should actually instead of making everyone update to a rather newer version, but to rather make a free update for the backers and then have a 5-15 dollar upgrade for people who have the older cold war era MiG-21. That way people can choose rather to fly the old one or the updated one through whatever era the mission is taking place in.:)

Hello,
Recently, I seem to have encountered a problem with the cockpit of the MI-8. Although running through the checklists thoroughly and looking through all the switches in the cockpit, I have failed to find a cockpit fan switch. Even with the autostart, I have found that the fan does not turn on and refuses to work. I believe it must be a bug as the MI-8 must have a fan, no? If you could resolve this issue for me I would be much obliged. :) The MI-8 doesn't have something that all Russian aircraft have... it's something called the FAN. If it only had this I would say it is a superb aircraft but it does not so I guess you can say it's half way there. It would be amazing if you guys could do this. :book::pilotfly::pilotfly:

Does anyone know the key command for the mirror up top and what the command is called fully on the options and controls for setting your controls in the MiG-21 is?
-
Ok, rename the folder back to DCS. What about your anti virus application, was that active when installing/repairing DCS? Disable your anti virus application all together and repair.
I got it working. I had to delete the faulty module with the link up above with combined arms and repair it again.
-
Try to rename your "saved games\dcs" folder to "saved games\dcs.backup" and start singleplayer and then select multiplayer.
That did not work. Is there anything else I can do?
-
Hello,
My multiplayer for dcs ever since the recent update has crashed on start up everytime I try and run it, but I can run singleplayer perfectly fine. I've repaired it multiple times.
