  1. Hello again everyone. I tried unchecking the FF option under Miscellaneous settings, and indeed the autopilot works. But I'm left with an unsprung joystick that makes it very weird to fly with. Is there any hope I can to some fine trickery to get my FF stick to work, or at least trick the Sidewinder 2 to give me a spring force while having FF turned off in game?
  2. Bingo, unplugged the joystick and autopilot works. Now moving forward, my Microsoft Sidewinder 2 stick is not defective, I've used it with other sims just fine. I don't want to go out and get a different stick just for DCS. Are there any steps I can take to make this joystick work with the sim? I already have deadzone and sensitivity curve settings.
  3. Hello, I don't know if you have a Force Feedback stick, but in case you don't let me describe something: With my FF stick, trimming "nose down" actually moves the "spring force" forward so that the stick's center is much forward vs a non-FF stick. If I didn't trim up the Su-27 would be trying to climb at 45 degree climb. The manual says there can't be more than 20% stick input to engage the autopilot. Is this causing an issue? However, the manual says I can have more than 20% stick and engage the flying level and straight mode, ALT+3. That mode isn't working either. What I can do is try unplugging my joystick and see if AP works without it.
  4. Hello, I have more tracks for your review. I have 5% dead zone and 25% curvature on both axis. First is the Su-27. I take off and accelerate, retrack flaps and gear, trim nose down, press A and.... nothing. I then tried the same in the Su-33 and all works normal. 5. Thanks for reviewing my track. I recently did a calibration on my stick; the FF spring seems to not be perfectly centered, so it's a hair off. I have added enough dead zone to counter for it. I also added a curve to the sensitivity. I will try taking control of the track at full throttle and see what happens. I only throttled back so we could see the autopilot lights, I'm not sure if there's another way to check them.
  6. Hello everyone, I have attached a track of the Su-27 autopilot issue. I take off, retract gear and flaps. I trim nose down, throttle back so you can see the autopilot lights. I press A and it engaged. I do not touch anything else and it disengages on its own seconds later. I try engaging Alt+3 again and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated. I deleted all my keyboard/joystick assignments and was back to default mapping. Autopilotnotworking.trk
  7. Is there a way to reset DCS to factory defaults by deleting some config file? Maybe I messed something up during setup.
  8. Alright, here is what I have discovered: In the Su-33 the autopilot works as programmed. I actually don't get the lights in the buttons, but when I press "A" I can see the buttons being "pressed down". In the Su-27 I can also see the buttons being pressed down, but nothing happens. I have tried accelerating to over 800Kph, have it trimmed for level flight, then try A or Alt+3 and while I see the button animation work, the autopilot is not working. Any help is appreciated.
  9. I will need to check the lights, but yes, I trim before I engage the autopilot. I only want to use the autopilot to maintain course and altitude while I fiddle with the radar.
  10. PS: I did do a search and read the whole thread about the Su-27 autopilot issues; I'm not sure I'm having an oscillation problem, I can't get it to do anything, but I will try again at a low altitude and high rate of speed.
  11. Hello everyone. I recently purchased DCS and FC3 on Steam. Everything is going well as I'm relearning the simulator, I used to have the first FC. Currently I have an issue with the Su-27 and the autopilot. Basically, I can't get it to work; pressing A seems to barely do anything, and trying to use the straight and level feature does nothing as well (Alt+3). The funny thing is that the features work perfectly in the Su-33. I haven't touched the default key assignments for it, I can still go to Controls/Su-27/Autopilot and see all the default autopilot commands, which I have not mapped to my MS Sidewinder 2 stick. I am trying to use Autopilot in the SIM difficulty setting, on instant missions and create fast mission. I have everything on realistic except the English HUD. I welcome any suggestions.
  12. Hello, I'm trying to back up the control assignments (joystick button assignments) So I don't have to reenter them for a reinstall. There's many files that look like they could be the ones, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure the file that holds that info? Thanks
  13. I found the answer: Q: How can I change a volume of force feedback effects? A: check /Config/Contactor.cfg file. TrimmerGain = 1.0; - a volume of force effect of triming ShakeGain = 0.5; - a volume of force effect of shaking\getting hits\gun shooting\explosives etc
  14. Hello, I have reinstalled LO FC 1.12a and I have forgotten how I was that I dissabled the "stick shaker" force feedback effect when pulling too many Gs. I still want the control surface feedback, just not the rumbling. Could someone please remind me?
  15. Hello everyone. I'm new to using this program, I installed this but I have the following problem: see how my Mods Installer screen looks like. It seems the screen doesn't fit entirely; I can't see the edges, can't even see the "exit" button. I'm not running any kind of akward monitor setup, just a plain old monitor at 1024X768, with DPI set at high (larger text so I can read better). I tried setting DPI to normal but it made no difference. Any help? --------------- Never mind, I see resolution has to be higher than 1024X768, that's a little bit different...
  16. Yay! After 2:30 hours of playing, I got 7 kills at the =RAF= server! That's better than I expected... I did notice one thing. My system can give me very good FPS offline, and it was giving me great FPS online for a long while, but the last half hour of playing the FPS started getting very choppy. Is this some kind of memory leak issue, or is that caused by people joining with slow connections? Anyways... lots of fun!
  17. Oh and about the internet, yeah, it's slightly steep, but the cheaper more competitive service is not available in my area. It does perform well though, I did the speedtest.net and got 4500 down and 500 up.
  18. Details? Errmmm, there was no mission goals anywhere that I could see, so I took off and then AWACS said directions for bandits. Radar on and then I saw the jammer signal, which makes it easy to spot them :D As I was approaching I saw on the radar he had an enemy more or less to his side, medium distance. Maybe he had a missile coming to him I don't know. As soon as radar broke the jamming signal, R27 away, I turn to the side to not close in too fast, I saw his direction change (probably trying to beam it) then another R27, several seconds later, R77, then, off the radar he goes, kill #1 for me. It was a lucky strike!
  19. Last week I FINALLY dished out the cash for high speed internet. I had been using dialup for years, and since I moved to a new place I went ahead and got me the fastest internet service I could get, 3000kbps for $50/month. I installed hyperlobby today and tried joining my first mp game. After flying around some I was able to get a retrating F-15 who I think was running away or evading someone else. I didn't have much time to try different flights and servers, but I'll try again this afternoon. I hope to learn how to play in a more organized fashion, with set goals etc, not just furballs. Thanks to the guys responsible for building/maintaining the Hyperlobby
  20. Very easy question. On the the Su-27, I mostly use the HUD for payload information, but I know right beneath it is a row of green and yellow lights representing hard points. I understand green means active or selected missile type. What are the yellow lights above representing? I knew if but I forgot, can't find it in the manual.
  21. If you're an avid FS2004 user, and like russian planes, check this out: http://an24.uw.hu/doc/index.htm It's a very, very detailed An-24 that simulates several russian systems; it's kind of complex, and a challange for non-russian readers since the panel labels are all in russian. However the plane does include an 80 page manual (linked above). The project is still ongoing and the current release version is 2.1 Here is the forum that has the links for release 2.0 and patch 2.1 http://www.avsim.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=23543 Also, go here: http://an24.uw.hu/eng/ Go the the Beta tab, and download and install the latest flight model (5.0.92) and the latest payload configurator (although the characters in the program don't load well for me...) I've been trying to register to Avsim.ru for days, but it doesn't send me the comfirmation email. I've emailed the administrator and still no reply. I want to ask 1 or 2 questions to the developers but I can't yet. I'm also trying to see what the latest developments on the plane are, but it's tedious having to copy and paste text into a translator that works only half the time. I'm hoping some one you that can read russian can tell us about what they've been working on for the project. Hope you guys like it!
  22. Saludos a voz! como ustedes dicen :D Seguramente estaran en Cruzex 2007 o 2008, sera bueno... Nos vemos!
