  1. Hey Kurtz, thanks for the reply. Sure an interresting find. Though I ment its implementation in game. When I last used it a long time ago there were reports that the jammer pod wasn't jamming. It just dispensed countermeasures but none of the electronic jamming modes functioned in any way. Not even the basic jammer that every ECM capable AC in DCS uses. Is this still the case that anyone knows of? Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  2. Hello peeps, I'm sure the matter has been discussed before, though I couldn't really find the answer. Since before I went away the Jammer Pod was about as usefull as a paperweight. It had extra chaff/flares for you to use, but the jammer didn't seem to work, making it a non-choice for any MiG21 pilot. I am wondering, since many months, does this unit work as intended or is it fixed? And if not is itnon the to do list for the upcomming update runs? Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  3. The jammer in DCS is just a screamer. It hides your distance to target, but little else. Imagine it like someone standing in a crowded room and suddenly he starts screaming at the top of his voice. You know he is there and in what direction, only how far away is the question. Long story short: the jammer hides range information, but announces your presance to everyone remotely looking in your direction on radar. And if you are close enough to go guns, or heater for that matter, the enemy radar will be so close it can easilly burn through your jamming with raw power, rendering ECM pretty much useless. 4. Hello people, I am working on a little vietnam style mission in which a flight of F100's (F86 standins), protect a group of soldiers on the ground which are assaulted by infantry. What I would like is a few planes make a few passes and salvo/ripple fire a few rockets at a time. It seems the sabres only fire their HVAR's in pairs. Is there a way to make them fire 4 or more at once? This would certainly help make my mission more like it is supposed to be. Thanks in advance for any insight in this issue.

    gun fire

There is a gun safety switch near the left knee, close to the landing gear indicators. Just watch the labels on the knobs as you hover over them. You'll find it soon enough. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  6. We already have one. Though i think it cant shoot Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  7. You could try the 'Guardians Of The Caucassus' dynami campaign. No voice acting but random intercept missions in a 80's scenario. The way the mig was intended to be used. Also fin to do with friends Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  8. Keep in mind that the MiG 21 radar suffers from ground clutter when flying low (below 1500m iirc). There are filters to reduce this but the effect stays. If you plan on using your radar be aware of this. Also the radar only looks a few degrees below and about 20/30 degrees (not sure here) upwards. So you only see what is in front and above you. Never fly the same course for longer than 10 seconds I'd say. Listen to what AWACS has to say and keep your head on a swivel Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  9. It all looks cool and well done mate (especially for a mod). For the sake of fun I pitted 3 f15's against one PakFa (all excellent AI) in bvr. The PakFa won with ease. Very much fun to see the plane in action. Too bad I cant see the weapons bays open and close when the plane fires its missiles. Are you planning to implement this? (Sorry if this has been mentioned before. Didn't read the entire thread) Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  10. I remember flying with him when I barely knew how to work the A-10C. He showed me the ropes and I learned a great deal from him. Thanks for the many great hours flying ol'chap. Rest in peace.
  11. Happy new year and my best wishes to all! Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A310F met Tapatalk
  12. Then you clearly have never flown the Su27 default campaign. When on cap you have to patrol the border with an enemy SAM site on the other side. Let me tell you, when your RWR is screaming bloody murder lock tone at you for 15 minutes straight you will change your statement :megalol:. Volume knob, all for it! Unless it is similar to an F15 TEWS RWR, then I don't mind.
  13. I think it highly unlikely for any developer to create a game that can only effectively (read visibility for units) be played with a big TV screen as monitor. Not everyone has the luxury or funds for that. If they did the budget players would've thrown DCS out the window for that so to speak. Besides a laptop screen should be more than enough to play. And your point is right. Make the model setting fixed in the game and not optional in multiplayer, but in such a way that everyone benefits from it. Ps: My 15.6" screen has a 1080p resolution so that shouldn't be any issue. And my laptop can run the new DCS on High settings with ease. Just saying.
  14. Wolf what you say may be true to a degree. My experience in DCS 1.2.xxxxxxx is that I can barely see planes in WVR if they are flying straight in front of me. The moment I see them is when I am about 2 km away from them in the best of cases. If they fly anywhere below me I can barely see them, if I even manage that. In 1.5 I could actually see an enemy WVR without needing radar to tell and guide me to them. I get that we don't need big red blobs screaming "Here I Am!" but some help is needed. I hate to draw a comparison here, but in an older game, IL-2 1946, I could see aircraft and ground units that got within about 5-10 kilometers of me. It was not that clear, you could still hide in the ground and you were not highlighted so people could see you across the map. Overall is was not that easy to spot anything, but it was managable. In DCS I feel almost blind without spamming radar and WVR lock buttons. Now I am flying on a 15 inch laptop screen so I see less per standard. I don't have the luxury of a big screen, which may or may not help out. Till this is fixed I am stuck with flying with labels, which I tend to avoid.
  15. I agree with the guys in this thread. Leatherneck, you have produced one of the best simplanes that I know of. When I first heard of the MiG21 I saw it as an obsolete rustbucket, but after a short while it grew on me. Before long I was itching for the release of the module to finally fly the old gal. She is hard to fly, but if you treat her right she will fly beautifully. She is now my favorite plane in general. Thanks Leatherneck (and ED) for making this possible and for your continuous support towards us. Please forgive our occasional complaining and whining, we love you guys :smilewink:!
