No, things do not get backported to the old versions.

What about a restricted Open Alpha release before Beta?
gerd replied to beppe_goodoldrebel's topic in Chit-Chat
Which means the time between releases would be longer (time needed for testing and fixing) and that goes against the crowd shouting if there is no new release every week. Remember the days of 1.x when we would get a new patch about every quarter? Those were quite stable... -
Could it be that LCD/TN panels in VR headsets are brighter than IPS / VA screens most people have in their monitors?

How will the Super Carrier be used in existing Missions?
gerd replied to speed-of-heat's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Well, unless you intend to play as a carrier (LSO, airboss station), there won’t be much change for you as a pilot - only the launch will be slightly more immersive with the crew and later in development the possibility of crashing into the barricade. -
CPU upgrade, is it worth it?
gerd replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
BitMaster, do you think it would be possible to cross-test the new GPU in the old computer vs the full-new setup? I have one generation older CPU than your buddy, but have a feeling upgrading GPU should bring the most boost and upgrading CPU (no overclocking involved) would be just minor gain for our sims. -
Page 224 / Figure 128: the L&S and DT2 labels are swapped (DT2 points to the star, L&S points to the diamond - should be the other way around).

Let me join the queue and add my thanks to Heatblur for this trial weekend. Although I did not have as much time as I wanted (had I known about this in advance, I would have sent wife and the kids elsewhere) and did not fire a single weapon, it was a great taste of the flight model and Jester AI, which was a big unknown to me. Now I know F-14 will be the next module in my stable (although not right now). Cheers

Hi Bruce, as a matter of fact I was flying this exact mission earlier today and I had the same issue. I recommend to go on and fly the real qualification - at least for me it seemed to be programmed more correctly so I was able to finish it. I have noticed couple of times in this campaign that the practice missions behave differently to the real check rides (and I am not talking about the additional info they are giving you, but the flight parameter issues.)

Why shutdown within 2 minutes?
gerd replied to Griefhard's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Hi, do you plan to release the update as a a new campaign, or as a free update for the existing owners? I’d like to get this one to finally dive into a10 seriously, but I do not want to end up like with Enemy Within when literaly month after I got it a new payed version was released... -
So I tried the default air refuel mission with f/a-18 behind s3. When I approached behind the tanker’s left wing, my hornet started to roll right violently. Is this it? (I somehow thought wake turbulence would be a “bumpy” air).

Is that specific to VR, or would we see some speed improvement also with standard monitors? Unless this refers to double-rendering the screen for both eyes or some other VR-specific thing, I hope it will help the rest of us as well.

...bump? I was pleased to see updated manual mentioned in 2019-02-13 update release notes, but randomly checking few of the things listed above, nothing changed...

Flight Control System (FCS) Page (page 67) describes what we can see in the picture (Fig 29), but displayed values are different (e.g. description: LEF 1° down vs. picture: 0°, etc.).

I'm reading through the updated manual and noticed couple of issues: Section HUD Control Panel (page 31/32 in my copy) 2. HUD Symbology Brightness Selector Knob - description of the knob is the same as the switch in 4. HUD Symbology Brightness Selector Section Spin Recovery (page 38 in my copy) on several occasions there are some weird characters indicated by boxed question mark, e.g. 33° ?}1° Section Left Vertical Panel (page 41 in my copy) 1. Canopy Jettison Handle - for consistency with the description of subsequent switches the formatting should be changed from the list to the nice blue heading.

Ob, bummer, I do not have luck with this campaign. I downloaded the first version while it was free, but before I got to play it, my hard drive crashed. After reinstallation to ssd, the campaign was not available anymore. All the praise of this campaign mame me buy the second version of it, but that was during DCS 2.0 times, so I waited for proper merged DCS 2.5, but then the deferred shading made the A10 cockpit look ugly and the new caucasus map put more strain on my hardware. ED announced the cockpit would be upgraded, so I waited a bit more. And here we are with third version on the horizon and I still did not even had a taste of the campaign... :-D Do you think ED would exchange me version 3 for version 2? They can check the starforce servers that my 2.0 copy was not even installed yet.

I would not say there is no glass in the cockpit - depending on the lighting conditions you can see shadows casted on the glass... The truth is that in the past the glass had some dirt specks, while now it is completely clean (as the muddy-glass-whiners wanted?).

Might I chime in with a question about trimming the Hornet? In my game Hornet always trims for 1G automatically, so if I point the TVW somewhere on the HUD, it simply stays there... Therefore I do not understand the advices about trimming - could anyone enlighten me please?
-
What other modules do you already have? I would say the performance of Hornet is similar to A-10C or any other full-fidelity module (FC3 planes are less demanding).

I would like to know too when this is pushed to the stable channel. We have not seen an update for couple of months...
