  1. Hi all, As a backer, I've been able to download the modules for the other aircraft I nominated on the backers page, yet I've had no luck with the Dora. I don't have the option to download it in the module manager, and it doesn't come up in the list of aircraft I can buy. Any idea how I can get into this bird? Thanks very much!
  2. Hoping this isn't directed at me bud, I've tried to remain completely non-hostile during this explanation of my thoughts on the situation, and would hate to think I was being taken as a rager, I just wanted to voice my opinion. I'm not sure if your post was just a general outline of some thoughts of yours, or they were directed at the current discussion. I understand you're happy and think you're still getting a great deal, and I'm truly happy that you're satisfied broheim. I'm not so satisfied, as I outlined. edit: Anyway, it appears to be true that giving voice to thoughts helps relieve one of their burden, as I'm now over this topic, and will probably end up going ahead and buying that 6th plane at some point. Thanks everyone for your thoughts!
  3. lol. Thanks for the mine analogy Wolf, that was a wild ride that I enjoyed from start to finish :) Whilst I appreciate the KS is a gamble and all of that (as mentioned previously in my post), ED were always going to be involved to some degree, as they'd put their name to it when they agreed to make this project part of the DCS franchise. Neither ED (nor any of their customers) want to see a DCS labelled project tanking; that doesn't look good for anyone. So they pull Ilya's whacky offering from the fire, and rebuild it to a more manageable level. They also say 'hey we can't possibly make this thing viable with the current scheme, so we have to change the rewards offered'. I get that completely. My point is that now there are customers such as myself, who whilst completely stoked that ED have picked up the shattered remnants of this train wreck and put it back on the rails, still feel somewhat bitter as I don't see it costing ED any more to agree to the original digital rewards. They're basically betting on the fact that those of us that were stung, will go ahead and buy the extra plane or two, which I don't think I'd be willing to do at this stage.
  4. While that's all well and good, I don't pay for computer games very often cause I can't afford them currently. I still think that if the 100 dollar reward level is X, then why not give everyone X + $12 in DCS credit to buy the plane they've already committed to. In this situation I now have to pay $132 for 6 airframes. That's more than 20 dollars each. I apologise for this seeming to be picking peanuts out of poo, but as mentioned in the original post it just makes me feel a bit bitter. What bonus?
  5. To be fair, I don't believe ED were completely extant from the original KS. This project was always going to be called "DCS: WWII". Whilst I realise ED are doing good by the people to come up with something, and I'm happy to take the hit on the physical rewards to help ensure they can make this thing viable, I still believe they should honour the original digital rewards scheme. Yeah, you must have missed them. You also must have skipped over the first few responses to get to your flaming kittens. The first five or so in the original july update are all "Awesome, thanks!" type posts, and that was just the briefest of looks to reply to this post.
  6. I don't want to feel bitter... but I kinda do. At the $112 level, it was a big investment for my family, as we don't have much money, but I really wanted this to succeed, so we muscled up and purchased at a level where I'd get access to all the aircraft in game, plus shipping for the other crap. To now be told I'll only get 5 aircraft, and I can't pitch in the extra 8 bucks to get me over the new level, seems kinda rough to me. I know kickstarter is a gamble and all that stuff, but ED have decided to back it, and giving me my 6th plane doesn't cost them anymore than them giving me 5, so I'm a bit confused why the digital rewards aren't being kept the same. Granted I didn't read the 35 pages of each thread to see if there were others in the same boat, there was too much 'we love you ED' crap to wade through, so perhaps I missed any comment on this exact situation, if so, I apologise for the redundancy of my thread. Cheers, Sean
  7. Thanks very much for the replies lads. I've just finished downloading CloD once more, so I will definitely be having a crack at that, along with the TF patches. I think the best thing to do might be to wait out and see if there's any more direction from Wags and Co regarding rewards. Thanks again guys.
  8. Sup all! So anyway, pretty much a newbie to these forums. I signed up to this without too much thought, I was like f@#k yeah, cool WWII sim with modern graphics by the same guys that made IL2, nuff said! So all the recent chat about Luthier etc is pretty disheartening, as it's completely changed the potential outcome for me personally. As such, I have a few questions. I should mention that I've just completely read the June update thread, and appreciate completely what ED are doing. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with DCS. That said, my questions are thus: Will there be much of a single player campaign under this new direction? I really like the idea of starting as a fledgling pilot, and working my way up through the system. From installing the base DCS game, it seems as though emphasis is based on the multiplayer aspects, and not much consideration is given to single player campaigning. (I could be completely wrong about this, it's just a first impression). With all the recent chat about rewards, I was considering changing two of my printed manual rewards to digital DCS World copies of the FW-109 and the P-51. Why would I do this? In a game populated with F-15's etc, is there any reason I'd want to fly WWII era planes? I'm itching to fly them, but to me it seems I'd be better off waiting for them to be released as part of WWII, instead of downloading them now. If I were to download them now, are there single player campaigns I can run to not only get used to them, but to enjoy offline? As someone who is going to be spending a large portion of the next year offline, I'd really like to know if this is a viable option, or it's simply going to be never ending combat against waves of ai spawns. Thanks very much for any insight, I really appreciate any comments. Cheers, Sean
  9. I'd take DCS store credit as an alternative to my 3 printed manuals, if we were able to get the pdfs.
  10. Just curious what everyone is choosing? I'm considering the strategy manual and a couple of plane manuals myself, no idea which though, what about everyone else?
  11. Hi all, This is my first post, as I've only just discovered the DCS series (thanks to Ilya's Kickstarter for WWII: Europe). I wanted to purchase the FC3 title, but I can't seem to figure out how I go about it. I apparently need a copy of Lock On (which, incidentally I purchased years ago, and has long since been misplaced). I looked on the site: http://lockon.co.uk/en/shop/ But they only seem to offer a disc copy. Do I really need a disc copy in this day and age? If so I noticed a post on the steam forums suggesting that a bloke purchased such a copy, only to find he also needed Flaming Cliffs installed in order for FC3 to recognise the content, as it didn't identify his copy of Lock On. Is purchasing this product really so difficult? Thanks for any clarification.
