  1. For some reason this plane is plagued with unresolved problems for a good while now, problems NOT present in 1.5.5 In 1.5.6-8 ADF was not working, now that we have 2.5 is right wheel (random bug), bombs not dropping (random bug) and range knob for the radar (consistent bug present every time). It is a very fun plane to fly but I am forced to leave it aside because of these experience breaking bugs. Can you tell us what the issue is, that we have a worse plane in 2.5 then we did in 1.5.5? ps: I know that ADF was working in 2.1, I didn't check it again in 2.5, I will just assume it works, but again with F5 you never know
  2. Same here. I didn't noticed a pattern but I also had issue with right landing wheel not coming down.

    Warthog HOTAS

it is not about the grip but the base. TM bas was the best but now there are better products out there. If TM can't provide a base that is better then the competition AND compatible with TM warthog grip, why not get a VirPil base that is 100% compatible with the Warthog gri? And since I get the base why not also the grip that works really well with L39 and Mig21? Does the T-50 base match the Warthog in accuracy, or I need to sacrifice some accuracy for build quality and better movement?

    Warthog HOTAS

TM Warthog was the way to go for many if not most pilots and as they said last E3 they will "try to catch lightning in a bottle for the 2nd time with F/A-18 H.O.T.A.S.". VKB or VirPil manage to raise the standards for the build quality and fot TM is ether keep up with high end fly sticks or bail out. Since they already got a a good market share of the high end fly sticks, I don't think they are ready to give up on this market just yet.

    Warthog HOTAS

May I ask why is that important? Just like most of us you will do your initial setup and then proceed to tweak it as you learn and become more experienced. I am more interested in the Thrustmaster Joystick: they first announced it, then showcased the grip on a Warthog base at E3, but now a year later when the F18 is nearly out, there is complete silence. My uneducated guess AND hope is that they took a good hard look at the quality of products from competitors like VKB or VirPil and dropped the initial plan to release a new grip with the same base, and now they are working at something to match the new products on the market.
  6. True, and Mig-21 LanceRs would make the most sense. First it is the most advance Mig21 and it can provide the most reasons for a player to buy it since it is so different and 2nd It was modified to use western weapons and systems (including lightning pod
  7. I would advise you to stay as far as you can from T.A.R.G.E.T. and any calibration software. I nearly turned my Tm Warthog in a 3kg of metal junk. Nothing was working anymore, not even official drivers and tools. What saved me was a very old PC with Widows XP and USB 2.0, and I let windows to update the drivers from windows update (imagine thet Windows Update actually being useful for once ). Everything works just fine but the lesson is don't play the firmware lottery unless you afford to lose 400 Euros.
  8. +1 Please ED make it happen
  9. how should I or 99.99% of the virtual pilots know if it is "feasible"? Sure I will by it at pre-order if it is done by a team that already proved their skill, and 100% buy it if it will be done really well regardless of the development team. The question is there are enough info out there about the plane in question for the developers to work with, and that is not a question that 99.99% of the players can answer, but if it wil lbe at the M2000 lv of quality, I will get it. PS I already got F/A-18
  10. I didn't see anything about a campaign, but I am ready to bet that we will get som SP mission beside training, and I am also ready to bet that we will get 3rd party campaign later on. And yes you are not alone, from all DCS pilots, only 29% are in to pvp.
  11. I am well aware this is a pre-order and that is not out yet. I am also aware that most if not all modules are first release in DCS beta before going live on stable version. My question is if anyone know if 1.5.x will be updated to 2.5 and we will have the plane first on current 2.2, or they will just update 2.2 to 2.5 and we will need DCS Beta? I am running 1.5 and 2.2 and just wanted to know If I need a 3rd version to play it on release. Thank you
  12. The pre-order is the best deal you will get for F/A-18 for a while (1-1.5 year from release), to get an even lower price then this you will have to wait about 2 years from release. The question you need to ask is if you plan to fly the plane in the next 2 years or not. Because if you do, you may as well pre-order. I am not that hyped about this plane to be honest but I pre-order it anyway. first I wanted to support the developers of the best military fly sim, 2nd I want this particularly plane to be a big hit because it is the reason some new systems are implemented in DCS, and I want them to be implemented very well because the future F16 that is on hold for the moment, will make a very good use of those systems.

    R-73 missile?

 +1 This is a sim, witch is short for SIMULATION, and indicates that it simulates reality. Please don't turn this sim in WarThunder or Battlefield.
  14. ADF is not working since 1.5.7. Try to find 1.5.6 version if you want to use ADF in your mission. Thnx God it is working in the new version because we can really use ADF on Normandy
  15. wow such a great member of community. Lying and misleading, yea great thinking man. Great game but community is 0.
  16. I do understand that the plane is not really finished, and it will take some time and work to put different systems in place. It is cool, I think we can all wait, but I really think you took a step back in 2 key aspects, and I do not expect any improvement in these areas: 1st compared with M2000 and there is no visual feedback on the Hotas when you press a hat-key or button. It is like I am in BMS again, trying to map stuff blindly... really bad experience. 2nd When M2000 was released I said that all other developers should take note on how you support pilots hardware, by allowing them to easily map switches. Now 1 module later, you went beck and said that there is no need to show the same attention to overall experience that players have with your plane. I am sorry, but I am really disappointed by how you start reduce the quality of your products. the module is 70$ and some say it is a little on the expensive side, I got it and I would have payed even more. Simulators are an expensive hobby, so no body really wants something cheap or question the financial aspect, but you are showing that you are less interested in player's experience then before.
  17. you need to wat for 1.5.8 release to have it in 1.5

  19. As many pilots it took me a while to get everything.., good hotas, good pedals, head-tracking, PC... got around 65%-70% of the modules just to see that I still can't play the game. My specs are in my signature if you want to check them out, but the problem is I have insanely bad FPS in CQC. I am in a 3 Mig 23 v 4 F5 clash in SP, no scripts, and I only get 15-20 fps while my card had 5-7% usage. I play in full HD at Medium-High settings. I crushed in to the water, and as soon as I died , both fps and card usage went to 60 fps at 50% usage. I have no idea what to do, is this a bug that will be address, this is how DCS is? Please help me because at this point I see no other exit then just quit. This is a an extremely bad experience and not really what I was looking for when getting my gear. Thank you very much P.s. my video card runs just fine, in games like Arma I get 60-70 fps, maxout with 95% usage, while in Warframe I get around 280 FPS with 75-80% usage
  20. it was working fine in 1.5.6, still have it mapped, when I push it in the Option control DCS will select it, is not working in the game anymore. I am really disappointed, months after 1.5.7 update to be forced to roll back to 1.5.6 for the second time.
  21. To put it short: Nvidia decided that you don't get good frame rate no matter what. You can have 2k or 4k and will have decent fps, but if you try to run 1080p, your card will just chill. I tested it in ArmA 3, and I manage to make it work at 100% usage, but I had to push 150% FHD with max-out settings. at 100% I got 10 fps more and videocard had 50% usage. Back to DCS my gtx 1080 was outperformed by far (about 90 fps at exact same settings) by a RX480. I am surprised no one reported it before since this is an abuse by Nvidia but you buy resolution and you don't get to decide how to use the power of your video-card you payed for. After I fixed the windows power balance, and make sure there is no bottleneck, this is what you you get if you buy GTX 1080 for good FPS: https://photos.app.goo.gl/t9YBcFrOJKEo9x6t2
  22. 2484 on service
  23. I just got a GTX 1080 (NON TI)... compared to my 5 year old 7970 (little improvement) 20-50 FPS on the ramp, no other units, just one plane on the map jump in to cockpit. settings are on high, 1080p (no texture mod), but there is no difference between low and high. (I don't use DCS 2.1). Don't even bother for DCS. Clearly we are yet to see a good videocard that can actual run modern games in 1080p
  24. Something is wrong there. I have 7970 and it is the exact same card as RX 285 and better in every way then GTX 580. I play the game in full hd, low-medium settings and I get as low as 15 FPS if things get down and dirty (max about 77 fps) . I am looking for an upgrade and I could see that in 2k a GTX 1080 runs a little above medium for a 60 fps min. target, witch is consistent with 1080ti 1080p tests. I have no idea what it is, but my personal experience and other players tests that you can check on youtube, you need a 1080ti to max-out the game in 1080p and get minimum 40+ fps
  25. You are right it not a competition, but I also hope for a full module. Other team developing variants of this plane clearly stated that they will not do it as a full module, so a part of DCS community (including me) have hope from you. As far as we care, you could all work together and make a full module. What we are really hopping is to get a really accurate version of the plane. We are grateful for every team's work, and we also want to repay you by buying it. You get payed, we get a better product, everyone is happy
