  1. Spot on, BigNewy - Kudos, mate! O.K. - translation: Updated 2.05 to 2.1 'successfully'. DCS won't start. Removed Bell-47 from ...\Mods\Aircraft and DCS starts - editor etc works. Problem solved. Cheers - Dai. 8)
  2. Finally sorted the rar extract (with WinRAR) and am back in M*A*S*H - terrific. Many, many Thanks, Upuaut! Cheers - Dai.
  3. Thanks for the image, Eight Ball (French Touch - nice mission) but did you need to re-locate the helipad object by trial and error or did it place correctly first time? That's why I asked about in-game placement viewing. And thanks for your comments, DarkFire - be useful if the mission editor had this facility (Q2). Cheers - Dai.
  4. Thanks, Grimes - so, I can place a helipad (structure) on an existing building's flat roof, I guess? Which leads to the next question (!)... Is there any way to 'see' where you've placed an object in game without actually flying the mission to that location? Like an object placer view in mission editor, or similar? This would help in setting the desired location and orientation of the new object. Onwards and upwards, eh?!? Cheers - Dai.
  5. Still very new to missions, so a Noob question: Can you set the altitude of an object placed in a mission, or are objects always at ground/terrain surface level? Can the altitude be set as "Do Script"? Many thanks - Dai.
  6. First off - great mission, MBot - flew SP with Huey. Like MadDog, I picked up from the aft deck and got 11 men back to base. Not gone further - yet, still practicing. Can I ask a Noob question: does setting trigger.action.explosion events on the frigate automatically modify the visible model to show damage? I've noticed that crashing the Huey on the aft deck pad produces charring on the deck surface after the smoke has cleared. As you can tell, I'm quite new to the functionality of DCS! Cheers - Dai.
  7. Thanks, E - I'll try that. Cheers - Dai. Edit Well, I beached the carrier... Not really 100%, but at least it works in principle as a go round, I guess... Wonder what the issue is with lake water in NTTR?
  8. I have followed the instructions in the video (thanks!) and made a short UH-1H mission with a trigger zone in Lake Meade for the aircraft carrier. I seem to have the same problem as Endmonster, as you can see: I'm absolutely new to scripting, so it could be finger trouble, but the carrier is in the right spot/orientation, but below lake water level. Quite impressed by the view of the deck through the water - cool. However, has something changed with the new version of NTTR? I'm using 2.0.5.1648.165 or 2.0.5.913 installed 11Feb17. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Cheers - Dai.
  9. Many thanks, cichlidfan and Buzzles, I guess that's the safest option. Cheers - Dai. 8)
  10. Installed 2.0.4 yesterday. NTTR perfect and UH-1H and Mi-8 available for flying. But my 1.5.5 install is no longer executable. Have looked at folders and found that all 1.5.5 folders are still there - but not in the main ...Eagle Dynamics\DCS World where 2.0.4 is now installed. Instead, the 1.5.5 folders are in a separate folder (the "DCS_updater_64bit.exe" folder) - not sure why, but it's likely my error. Only the "bin" folder is missing, so when I try the old run.exe 'start up' nothing happens. Not sure whether the 1.5.5 can be revived by downloading the missing bin folder (and any others) - perhaps I can use the Repair function to help with this? Or should I cut my losses and download 1.5.5 from scratch after uninstalling any/all of the old 1.5.5 folders. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Cheers - Dai. 8)
  11. Thanks for the lua explanation, Joey! Cheers - Dai.
  12. Thanks, Home Fries - followed your advice (page 1 post), downloaded and installed your USN HAL-3 Seawolves skin into c:\users\xxxxx\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\uh-1h\USN HAL-3 Seawolves. Then fired up DCS and went to Mission Editor, selected the Huey in the mission and the new skin appeared in the Load tab. Just like you said! Cheers - Dai.
  13. First post so a Big Hi to All! I've been trying out the Huey for a couple of weeks and think it's really quite good (understatement!). Like any new helicopter (to me, at least) there's a lot to learn - coupled with this being my first inroad into DCS World - some might say a baptism of fire? Well, here's a short video on my first impressions of landing the Huey. It is definitely Not a tutorial - more a collection of thoughts. Hope you enjoy... https://vimeo.com/76439920 Any comments and suggestions welcome. Cheers - Dai. 8)
