I made a copy with CloneCD and with K3B and got no errors during the copy process but got the same error with the copies when I tried to start the game. What I am wondering is if the copies are good but Starforce binds the install to the CD you installed the game with some how but cannot find an answer.

I have never gotten a copy to work using CloneCD v4 It would suck if you cannot make a copy

At one time you could send back to Saitek and the would refurbish it. I do not know if this is still true but it may be cheaper then buying new.
