Okay sorry for the audio i accidentally left my mic on, that being said even in silent it should be obvious that the peak G's are extremely high and it took 21G's for the wings to snap.

Im not really sure whats going on then, ive been watching another cat pilot pull up to 22 and not break the wings... it took him pulling up to 32g's before it snapped them off. In my track that i posted i went to 19G's and nothing happened.

As a quick Comment to the black smoke it seems only the normal S-8s have black smoke. "Basic variant. 350 mm versus RHA. Velocity 692 m/s. N-26A fuze. BIK-2D motor powder. Im getting P-51 sounds for the -30 (early) and -40 from Start up to shutdown, this problem does not seem to effect the regular -30. Ive attached a track starting up all 3 airplanes. first the -30 with normal P-47 sounds, then the -30 (early) with P-51 sounds, and then -40 with P-51 sounds Thanks, Enzo Bug report P-47D.trk

Interesting im gonna dig through the manuals not sure why youd want booster coils on a radial. Especially if you have no one around to pull the prop through.

A Merlin is a Merlin, It doesnt matter if its a boat or not, Its not a question of the "Procedure" or "Configuration". Its a Question of will the Merlin ignite with only the booster coil. which i read as no because its hooked to the Distributor. no mags on no volts to the distributor. Drag boat guys were stupidly notorious for blowing Merlin's up left right and center so id say they have a pretty intimate relationship with the motor. I have also sent the Question to a real P-51 pilot Scott Yolk of Quick Silver.

"Ignition: Ignition is by two high-tension rotating magnet magnetos mounted on each side of the wheelcase. The "A" bank magneto serves the intake spark plugs and the "B" side magneto serves the exhaust spark plugs. The magneto has an integral coil and breaker points operating off a four pole cam, each magneto is driven by a serrated coupling shaft turning at 1.5x engine speed. A distributor turning at 1/3 the magneto speed provides one complete cycle of 12 sparks every 2 revolutions of the engine. Provisions exist for an engine control mechanism to move the breaker base through 25 degrees of advance. In addition, the distributor features a two contacts on its rotor -- the leading finger is energized by the magneto and the trailing finger by an external terminal which can be connected to a booster coil to facilitate starting. The booster coils are essentially high tension coils with vibrating points which provide continuous spark -- when applied to the retarded finger they provide a high energy retarded spark which can greatly facilitate starting, especially with cold, slow turning (thick oil) engines which don't provide much speed for the magnetos. Merlins in aircraft only boosted the "A" bank, but I've seen boats with no boost, with booster coils on both banks, and both combinations in between." "Starting: Electric starter motor composed of 24V series wound electric starting motor engaging reduction gear at bottom of wheelcase (motor mounted vertically). The geartrain provides a reduction more than 104:1, and includes a safety clutch and a modified Bendix-type mechanism to protect the drivetrain and related components from excessive torque and to allow the starter to disengage while the engine is running. Booster coils are employed to retard spark and increase ignition during low-speed cranking. Primer system for direct injection of fuel through atomizing nozzles into intake manifolds provided." In Short, the Booster coil retards the spark and increases ignition for starting. even though its only 3 blades the motor still doesnt fire till the mags are turned hot.

Yes. The Spitfire wont start on those two alone, now the mustang does, and its never done it before. AFAIK and most engines would suggest, No Ignition, No Spark... and it seems like an outside chance that the booster coil would provided it especially after a couple of turns of the engine. And thinking about it now i had a friend for get the mags drop the fuel mixture in and the plane ran, albeit with little power but still enough he got airborne. ill do more testing to prove this is a bug.

Hello, I have recently noticed between 1.5 and 2.0 that the engine on the mustang will fire up with the mags in the off position. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, and its fixed. That sucks that it cant be fixed as i said i know its petty but out well. :lol:

Interestingly i havent seen it anywhere in here for the eagle and its admittedly petty, but an easy fix. The red beacon lights on the F-15 arent right, while they do blink they blink while the red light is continuous. as shown in this video.

You right, Just saw somebody asking why Blue had the MI-8.

The MI-8 should be on blue untill we get a western helicopter that also does a 160 knots. having one side have a 160 knot helicopter and the other having a 90 knot helicopter is ridiculous at best.

Hello, Small request if at all possible not demanding it or anything like that. But recently i have had the great pleasure of connecting the M2kC to an Online ATC service known as Pilotedge.net ATM we are able to send out the transponder code to the controllers by use of the Mode C Switch but i feel it would be awesome to use the actual dial for the transponder. As i said, small request, obviously extremely low on the priority list. Just figured id make a post about it to see if it was feesable in the future. Thanks, Enzo
