  1. Completely agree. I tried to start a C-101CC campaign in Liberation 3.x today, but the scenario I tried it with is a bit too heavy on units to hope to succeed. (Too many ZSU-23 emplacements..just an overwhelmingly large amount of assets). Hope I can figure out how to create a COIN type Liberation map / order of battle for Liberation because it would be a blast to do some old school bombing, guns, and rockets with a reasonable enemy counter-force.
  2. Thanks guys..! I'll take any suggestions for low-intensity multiplayer missions for the 101CC. I found a few on the DCS User Files section that should work. Once I get the boys into the CC (we will start with the EB) I'd like to have them learn the weapons against some passive targets first (trucks/soft vehicles) and then we might mix in some light opposition. I think the C-101 will be the perfect starter aircraft because it really teaches energy management and flying the plane before you get all in the weeds with systems. My old school CFI is definitely coming out..haha.. And..I actually do want to teach them some legit stuff (VOR navigation, emergency procedures, ground reference maneuvers) because I've held my CFII rating specifically to teach them to fly in real life once they are old enough in four or five years. So I'm trying to make it a mix of fun and real so I don't have to battle any negative learning down the road. I don't want them air-quaking around the local traffic pattern..
  3. Can’t help but be excited. Our journey starts soon! We will be working our way toward some basic capabilities. There will be tears shed, metal bent, egos destroyed, rage quitting commenced…but we’ll get there. We will be the Three Amigos ™ …at MTOW…stick shaker clacking as we struggle to join the fight. Bigger things will come I’m sure. We look forward to seeing you all in the skies. Progress reports to commence soon. (My boys are 10 and 12..planning to introduce them to DCS World in the coming months using the EB and CC after some basic indoc in another simulator...!)
  4. Thanks..! This will be perfect for getting reacquainted..!
  5. I did miss it. Wow. I'm excited for that mod...!
  6. Yeah, that was what I thought might be concerning. I have a second DCS store account set up for my son, and have purchased some modules for him to use in the future - and I'd like for him to be able to use his modules on my laptop, but occasionally I'll need to use MY modules on that laptop as well. It would be nice if both accounts could share the same data (base install) without having to have separate installs. I will try the multiple Windows login accounts to see if that might be a workaround. As I understand it, DCS DRM uses your hardware to generate sort of a profile..so I wonder if that will still present a problem - two accounts that are running on the same hardware..
  7. Looking for some guidance here - I have a project where I need to have a separate DCS World account (with separate purchased module serial numbers) but they will reside on the same computer. Can I just log in and out of the accounts using the same base install and DCS World will just recognize the different user - or will that cause a problem with authorizations? I did a little Googling, but I’m not sure if the advice still holds true that maybe I can have different Windows User accounts that will keep the registry/serial numbers separate? But could I still use the same install? I’m trying to avoid having two redundant installs on the same computer. Thanks! BeachAV8R
  8. Added Mission 10 and Mission 11 to the top post... %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//uploads.mudspike.com/original/3X/9/c/9c9a85628e03328f7019db1c74b2d11eeffd43bd.jpeg
  9. Thanks. We didn't have our staff of lawyers pour over the contest rules, but I thought getting brothers (and/or ex-wives or multiple personalities) to enter to increase the odds of winning wasn't in the spirit of the contest. We will be more specific next time. Thanks for trying though.
  10. I haven't tried it in VR yet (going to do that later today) but this is what it looks like in 2D..and it looks way more clear and easy to read. Very nice Devrim!
  11. Thanks for the link BD! What a blast this beast is. And gorgeous in VR. Can't wait to get to know her better. Nice job on these Baltic Dragon..!
  12. ..and pulled in behind this guy in Raleigh-Durham, NC - you could hear his engine even in our cockpit...(apologies - crappy zoomed iPhone pic) And then pulling back into the ramp at Charlotte..this guy was parked on our ramp... So I figured it must be a sign. Many thanks to "joey45" over on the DCS forums for the really cool custom repaint. Thanks too for the awesome bomb nose art by our very own @komemiute - I'm hoping to nail down a Mudspike patch design soon with his awesome artistic talents. I believe I'm ready to go learn the Harrier now.
  13. LOL..thank you, we had forgotten about the "J" key..! We were puzzling over that all night..and it has been so long since we had flown a multi-crew plane. That solves a big part of the mystery!
  14. Me and FearlessFrog took the 101CC up for some multi-cockpit this evening. It was fun, and we are hoping for full multi-crew at some point. We could definitely see the potential and had a blast riding in each other's back seat... https://forums.mudspike.com/t/dcs-2-5-x-screenshots/5532/1674
  15. Your comments are deeply appreciated. We (Mudspike) still want to be one of those old school, thoughtful sites that uses the old format of long form articles and some screens to provide information. I'm very much a "grab a cup of coffee and sit and read some stuff" in the morning kind of guy, and that is what we hope we provide. Thanks for the kind words. BeachAV8R
