  1. Yeah I noticed that Caucasus and Nevada looks better than Normandy. However, since I almost only fly ww2 I have to compare that map with Il2. Has this map its own lighting engine or what...? With bluriness I mean that the label texts are way more blurry than in Il2. Also the cockpits of say the Spit looks more "washed" than in Il2. Due to the jagged edges but also in general. Il2 looks made of "one piece" and DCS looks like "stitched together" kinda where you see the seams better. For fps, a new GPU and this video helped me, maybe it helps you too: Thanks, Sputnik
  2. Hi! Been playing a lot of Il2 and I love it in VR. Only thing is, that I am more into the realism of DCS. After hardware update and some software tweaking I managed to get decent fps now and everything is great but... (speaking mainly about Normandy): 1. Even though I like DCS on monitor way more than IL2, especially because of the better textures and more details. But the lighting seems very off to me. Either it is too bright or it is too dark. And/or it feels too saturated. 2. The sun shines through the front of the cockpit and lights the gauges on their upper rims, and, in the FW190s and Bf109 even behind the front panel (where you can see between the cockpit frame and the actual panel). It looks quite weird and is clearly not intentional. In Il2 I have a pretty sharp and overall clear and lit image, I can read most of the labels etc. In DCS, there is a blurryness and flickering of edges that makes my eyes get tired after a while... Even with the same pixel density and sharpening and what not – the DCS image always seems kind of "unsteady" because of the lighting and the flickering and jagged edges. Is this just me and my rig or do you guys have a similar experience coming from Il2 into DCS? Are there any known fixes for nr. 1? I read that they are working on the world lighting, so maybe it is a known issue? Or is this something completely different? Have you guys some tips that I could try to make the sim look more calm and clear overall? Thanks for sharing your opinions, cheers, Sputink
  3. Hi I have set a weird value to the IPD settings by mistake and now my view in DCS is so distorted that I can't see anything at all... Is there a way I could reset that value via a config file or something?? Thanks for your help, I don't want to re install just because of that...
  4. Thank you so much guys. I might be getting a new GPU first then. And try to overclock my i7 and see from there. Maybe also a new CPU eventually... Thanks for the feedback, cheers
  5. Hi there, I'm looking to upgrade my system to get more frames in VR. I want to fly WW2 mostly and as of yet I have pretty bad FPS on the Normandy map (Nevada for example works pretty well though). My specs: i7 4770K @ 350 GHz Geforce GTX 970 16GB Memory Win 8.1 Oculus Rift CV1 My initial feeling was to upgrade my 970 to a RTX 2070 8 GB (don't know which model though) but then I think that it might be too much for my i7? What would you "easy" fix be to get me some more frames? Thank you, Sputnik
  6. Thank you guys for your help! There was no input shown when I pressed ctrl+enter, however, when I disconnected all my other devices the trim finally worked! I had to re-configure my X52 Stick after that (even though I didn't even disconnected the stick...) So I guess the program though my steering wheel was the Stick, even though the wheel wasn't even connected to electricity. And it only happened to the Spit. And no input shown with ctrl+enter. Very strange... Now it works though, thank you again for help folks, and happy flying! :-) cheers, Sputnik
  7. Thx jcomm, but I have done that, only ONE axis is for pitch and only ONE for trim - there's no other button or axis for the same task. Also I would see the input via the white line in the controller assign menu so I assume I can rule that one out... Its strange but it works with every other plane I use only not with the Spit. Can't wrap my head around it...
  8. Did a repair, didn't change a thing. Then did a new install, still no change. Very frustrating since I wanted to start the Spit campaign and now can't. Guess I have to write to the support...
  9. Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Still the plane always goes nose up and no reaction to trim inputs. The trim wheel (on the down left) does spin accordingly to my inputs but the plane doesn't care. Also setting up alternate axis and buttons have the same effect. I do see movement of the elevator trim tabs in outside view when trimming however. But as I said, the have no effect. I use a X52 Hotas and have no problems with all other planes/sims in that regard. Has a re-install ever helped with that sort of thing?
  10. I've seen a few threads to that regard, but nothing helped. If I try to fly level, the spit always noses up so hard that after a few secs I make a loop. I trim nose down all the way (animation on the wheel is shown) but NO difference. Nose full up trim - exactely the same behaviour. It seems as the trim has no effect whatsoever. I have changed axis a few times, also checked if there's some input but nothing works. Help is much apprechiated :helpsmilie::)
  11. Ha! it worked :) Thank you so much! Cheers
  12. Ok, here it is! What do you think? Thanks for help, cheers autoupdate_log.txt
  13. Thanks, but this doesn't work, too :noexpression:
  14. What can I do if my game still does not update?
  15. Why the hell is there still no update? It just opens DCS and no update whatsoever!?
  16. I go to DCSWorld2OpneAlpha/bin and double click DCS_updater.exe That's what I suppose to do, right? Thanks
  17. This. Also central Europe here, makes sense.
  18. Thx, still it just starts the game... no update here.
  19. WHat do I need to do? Only start the game`? Nothing here yet...?
