  1. Checked in both game and sim options and unbound any commands for the cyclic/rudder. I then bound the pedals to rudder in axis commands Also nothing is bound to cyclic, getting no response from the pedals, interestingly though when I bind them to X,Y instead of RZ they work but seem very off like I mentioned
  2. This is the last of my issues, I cant figure out how to enter commands into the game to switch it to sim mode this is the only site I could find explaining it http://www2.keck.hawaii.edu/inst/nirc2old/dcsSim.html Also whenever I try to make changes to gameplay difficulty options they don't save under the game presets, for instance if i take off game flight mode / avionics and hit Ok, nothing changes. whereas changes made to Simulation do save.
  3. Having an issue in DCS unfortunately with my Saitek rudder pedals. For some inexplicable reason they are controlling my cyclic in DCS Huey, I assigned the rudder to JOY_RZ in both sim and game mode layers, I've been finicking with this for an hour or so, its getting frustrating :/ Even tried a fresh install of DCS and deleting the config input files a few times / clearing all pedal controls except the rudders. The one time I did get them to control the rudders properly they were all over the place and only seeming to recognize input half of the time. The CH fighterstick and throttle I bought work great though lol! Hoping someone here with more experience might be able to help out as I am new to DCS, thank you
  4. Hello, currently trying to setup controls with the Huey mod, i'm currently using the CH pro throttle and CH fighterstick, the throttle has a very smooth "mini joystick" default bound to the cyclic controls. When I enter the key bindings its not possible to select it at all, I would love to use it for looking around the cockpit until I can pick up tTackir5. Anyone know if this is possible or am I stuck using the mouse/hat switch lol Sorry if a very noob question but I just picked these up and am trying to figure stuff out, thank you!
  5. I would buy one right now but I think Saitek may have discontinued the x52's or they possibly only release small amounts of them at a time where they just get bought up immediately. Been looking for a couple weeks to try and find one that isn't on backorder with no luck :/
  6. I'll keep an eye out if the Saitek goes on sale, heres another stick ive been looking at as a possibility http://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2960706-T-16000M-Joystick-for/dp/B001EAWNKK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381014858&sr=1-2&keywords=Thrustmaster+T16000M You can pick this up now for 50% off, it was recommended to me in confidence by another poster. The only problem is it doesn't come with a throttle. For a heli sim I assume its necessary to have one for the collective control, but I have no idea if that's actually the case. From the reviews I've read it has top notch sensors but feels like cheap plastic (which I don't mind) I'd love to see what people on this forum have to say about it as its only come up once in my search :D
  7. Been looking at getting a stick soon, the price difference is marginal here, I've read that the x52 Pro has a resistance to it the farther away from the center you put it. Is this an issue? I don't even know if the x52 has this or not so excuse my ignorance. Its still possible to pick up the x52 on the Mad Catz website, but id like to see what other people have to say about the Pro version first. Thanks!
  8. Been looking around for an X-52 Pro, unfortunately they are sold out pretty much everywhere I've checked haha ill keep an eye out though. As for pedals been debating on getting either http://www.amazon.com/CH-Products-Pedals-Simulator-300-111/dp/B0000512IE CH http://www.amazon.com/Saitek-Pro-Flight-Rudder-Pedals/dp/B000H67DDY Saitek both are on sale atm ^^
  9. I am hoping to spend close to $400 for the tracking, pedals and stick. I don't really need to replicate real helo controls to the finest points, im just aiming to get the broad strokes and feel right so that when I am in an actual helo down the line I can be more confident. Also thanks for those links Diehard, will definitely check all that out
  10. Hello! been looking for a good sim to play for a while and I've decided on DCS but I could use some help (I've never played a proper sim) Along side this i am seriously considering joining the Air Force or the National Guard in the future, primarily for training. My main interest is some day becoming a commercial heli pilot. Basically I am trying to decide on the proper equipment i'll need to get started and to get a feel for the cost of a good setup. My first instinct was to buy the highest rated pedals and stick on Newegg like I do with computer parts, however someone pointed out this wasn't a good idea for what im looking for. Thank you more than a lot for the help
