Damage Model moreso Time To Disable/Destroy
Fastbreak replied to StreakerSix's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark 3
SixStreaker, you ought to see reason - "Because what must not be cannot be" (Christian Morgenstern – The Impossible Fact). -
fixed Radio preset swapped in the mission editor!

It's DCS, don't be this nitpicking! -
"Kola Map - what are the features that makes this map different / your favorite?" Nothing yet. What are the features which can this map respectively its landscape make different from other maps that are already available? Well, its scenic attractions like tundra, fjords, conifers, daytimes, Barents Sea, confluent streams, light conditions (e.g. aurora borealis), marsh districts etc. pp. which make it different from current DCS maps are on hand. The appropriate transformation that is still due will only bring the real attractions into an enjoyable map sensation. That's why I hope Orbx Simulations will be the first of the mark who create a map with key aspect to vegetation and light conditions with following features in comparison to the current maps: ! Most modern programming techniques that allow for explicit improvement of FPS. ! A conssiderably much higher diversity of vegetation including more and new local vegetation including trees, bushes, rooted plants, stones, rocks, steep faces etc. than before. ! No more bloody standard grass, sand and trees that is presented until now. ! Authentic and typical vegetation, stone(s), soil(s) with clearly improved look with regard to used currend standard types. ! Light model that depicts the local lightning conditions exactly. ... Incorporation of real life surface objects like huts, humble abode, boats, etc. - should be the simplest challenge. I hope Orbx Simulations will not create just another map in "ED corporate design", but bring a real new sensation into being. The Kola map has to be clear-cut different from Caucasus and South Atlantic map, its look and feel ought to also make hedgehoppers say: "Great job Orbx Simulations!"

Seriously? Graphics quality of the pyramids, sphinx, river banks, ground textures, houses, curvatures etc. pp. looks like Caucaus map in 2009. Personally I would call it deceptive packaging.

You present everything in black colors. And on You Tube, all instructional videos look like the flight is a piece of cake. Sorry, I was just going to express that, in my opinion, learning to fly a helicopter should be done in small, logical steps with regard to the best result. Roughly: Step1: 1) familiarize yourself in theory with the fundametals of helicopter flying (forces, lift, stall, airflow effects etc.pp. ) / here, too: aerodynamic features of coaxial helicopters 2) translate the basic knowledge into practical situations (=flying the helicopter) by practicing starts, landinngs, hovering, autorotation etc.pp. 3) learning to read the helicopters movements and necessary control inputs and concomitant limits as well as to slowly experience the limits 4) trying conscious manoeuvre with the ability to intentionally violate the limits without crashing 5) reacting automatically to the helicopter and mechanically proceding flight manouvre 6) build up a muscle memory and start flying subliminal as enabler for situational awareness Step2: studying avionics, navigation, weapons, tactics of combat flying, weather, etc. pp. Step3: finally optimize/change the input devices* to refine your learnt flying skills *Without doubt, you will be able to control your helicopter the best way, namely most precise, with the appropriate analogue input devices the extended cyclic control stick, the collective control stick and peddals. Furthermore, without any doubt, too, with high-costly and high-precise input devices, you will experience a much, much more precise handling of the helicopter - however, you have to be first able to master the helicopter to derive complete advantage from those input devices (IMHO). Other way round, if someone is not willing to go through the complete learning phase, even with a normal sticks and paddels, which btw will not make anybody fail to become an excellent virtuel pilot, high-precise input devices will not make the pilot's job. Either way, I was not going to imply that you did it the wrong way or you were not able to fly a whirly wing! My approach is: No sweet (piece of cake) without sweat. Nevertheless, the moment when you are able to sense every little movement of the heli the fist time, when you are able to control it 100% without errors, when you can fly 'unfeasible' manoevres without thinking about it, the moment tastes much much better than a piece of cake.

TPrince, you must not scold them - so hard they have been toiling away on making catholic headway for decades.
-
Exactly this! I dare to aver that it does not really matters how many rotors your heli has. Strictly speaking the crucial factor is your approach, your learning strategy (...) which is fundamental to master helicopter flying - for sure, it is very punishing. If i.e. you are going to fly a R/C helicopter without paying attention to the complex background theory ('the Heli tells you something'), practicing becomes a very short but expensive mistake. In a simulation -not an action game- these basic considerations might be a smart approach, too.

Why not the Caucasus with the new lighting model

79Au, enclosed an example of rough times for development process: Product announcement: e.g. 1st April 2023 Start of development & programming: 1st April 2025 EA access: 1st April 2026 Final product: 1st April 2029 Bug-fixing period to technically mature product: 1st April 2029-2033 You see, even if you devide time period by 2, it is absolutely corrrect to require some patience. But: the good thing is, you can save a lot of money, if you are patient and withhold any purchase until 'complete' product completion - easy, isn't it?! Don't mention it

Realistic re-arm, refuel and repair times for the new EDDCE
Fastbreak replied to Lace's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Just for those who talk about DCS as a game - it is a simulation. If you want gaming, maybe its game version will be the right way. Irrespective of my own opinion, any argumentation for pro or con arguments start from the premise that DCS is a simulation. **********************************DCS intro text ********************************* Free to Play Program Digital Combat Simulator World Free to Play is now available. Try out each and everyone of our products for 14 days per product during a six month period. You can play each module sequentially or any number of them at a time. The choice is yours! ********************************************************************************** But what am I talking about? Even ED does not seem to be able to communicate precisely that they sell a simulation. Or don't they do so any more? But if so, wouldn't they have clearly revealed such a change of genre? -
Yes, yes and yes again. Every and every time the same procedure...!
-
A manual update is a matter of course, isn't it?
-
Everything is going to be alright. Have faith in ED and one day you will go to DCS paradise - sorry, no EA (Early Access) possible! Until then, of course, you need to get used to the thought of (multiple) reincarnations...

Fastbreak replied to hawa0835's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Months? That's a whiff of nothing, quasi a nanosecond in the mild development attempts of DCS World! Legend has it that this ED induced time dilatation can wreak severe mental disorder even on the most robust person. -

Fastbreak replied to hawa0835's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
You might want to deliberate on raising the bar a little bit - after all BS3 should become an improved* helicopter simulation, right?! *Related to its age, its current development status, its current FPS-performance, its bugs, its detail accuracy, its graphics, its excruciating AI, new and diverse environmetal effects and their perception etc. pp. -
missing info Water is glowing?

A wisecrack with regard to the observations - may I presume to tell you how to enunciate your answer? -> If it's this: .... [it's been already fixed.] it SHOULD HAVE been already fixed. -
Good morning audax, "Never" is a cussed long time... My comments are based on my experience with DCS from the very beginning. I better point my doubts out here in this forum than to blame ED's work (where it is reasonable) outside this forum - which I deem correct. Of course, you might prefer a more anxious wait-and-see attitude, that's O.K., but to answer with Murtaugh's words "I'm too old for this s***". P.S.: Please note, I hope -as you do- that ED will adress the BS2 problem(s) and communicate it (them), too.
