This bug started on August Openbeta update, and its already reported:

hopefully it will be fixed soon 🙏

You have only 16 GB of RAM and at the same time the pagefile used for virtual memory is also very small (less than 3 GB) ... check your drive C disk space, perhaps it is almost full?  If you have the disk space, then adjust the pagefile size manually, set it to 16 GB if disk space allows.
  3. Rudel_chw's post in Problems after changes in local LUA-scripts for missions was marked as the answer
This is "as designed", and actually a good thing as I will explain.  A DCS Mission is nothing more than a zipped file containing the mission definition (in LUA syntax), plus any additional files the mission uses: sounds, images, and scripts. It looks like this:

I have marked the two scripts that I use on this mission. This setup means that if you now go and edit a lua script and save it on your disk, the mission still has its own copy inside the MIZ file.  When you pick the script again, it gets updated inside the MIZ.

This is actually good, because it makes missions more portable ... you handle someone the MIZ file and they now have everything the mission needs, no need to hand out lua scripts, sound files, etc ... just the MIZ.

Most likely you are using an old version of Moose, download the latest here:

    https://github.com/FlightControl-Master/MOOSE/releases

Not that I know of, but this has never been a nuisance to me, as I don't update Scripts that often.

  5. Rudel_chw's post in Where, exactly, are Joystick and Keyboard bindings stored? Easy Backup? was marked as the answer
Yes, that’s the simplest option, as not only your control bindings are there, also your system settings, your mission logbook, the status of any campaign, any custom mission, custom liveries, stored trackfiles, screen captures, custom snapviews, etc, etc.
  6. Rudel_chw's post in F86 Ground Power Unit was marked as the answer
Unfortunately, DCS is a very complex Sim and many of its nuances are not very well documented, you mostly learn them through experience, or by inspecting missions edited by more experienced users, or simply by asking on this forum.
To start the Sabre, on DCS you call up the ground crew, by pressing \, and ask for Ground Power ... they will attach an invisible GPU and tell you that ground power has been conected.
If you want to add a bit of immersion, you can add a phisical object(s), by placing them yourself, like this:

On the game it will look like this:

Unfortunately, the unit included on DCS is not very detailed, nor correct for the time period, but it does look better than just having the lonely aircraft on the ramp.

On my own missions, I make use of User Mod objects, which sometimes look much better than the native units, like this:

With some trigger logic you could make them appear and disappear at the proper points of the Start sequence.

Try it with command 3001, value 1. (Value 0 turn it OFF, and value -1 switches to ORIDE).

  10. Rudel_chw's post in Update DCS release version say I don't have enough space was marked as the answer
you are updating a 1 year old version, and while the exact update size depends mostly on what maps you have, most likely the updater is being truthful
  11. Rudel_chw's post in DCS not seeing my Saved Games folder for OB was marked as the answer
Ok, I’m an old fart, so to me it was a bit strange seeing a drive volume use those letters .. here is some more info in that:
    https://www.howtogeek.com/122891/what-are-the-windows-a-and-b-drives-used-for/

Ok, I will assume that your correct dcs data folder is "DCS.openbeta" .. you can force DCS to use it by placing a text file named "dcs_variant.txt" in the root directory of the DCS program. The file should contain only the name of the saved games folder, on this case
    openbeta

This will force DCS to place its config data at

    c : \ Users \% USERNAME% \ Saved Games \ DCS.openbeta

    Give it a try.
  12. Rudel_chw's post in Unable to get a response from Ground Crew was marked as the answer
If you have the canopy closed, then you need to use the Intercom ... see page 181 of the manual.
  13. Rudel_chw's post in How's the terrain? any Mountains or special terrains? was marked as the answer
Yes, Sinai is flat ... but has beautiful sceneries. If you want mountains, you might want to trial the South Atlantic Map ... there is little content for it, so you would need to edit your own missions, but the scenery is really different from any other DCS map ... for example:

  14. Rudel_chw's post in Livery Issue : unable to download files? was marked as the answer
What do you mean exactly by "don't work" ?  They appear on the livery list but once applied they don't look like expected, or they do not appear on the list at all?

Your screenshot does not show clearly where did you place the livery, for example mine are here:

And within the game they show up according to the aircraft's country, for Hungary I get:

  15. Rudel_chw's post in Negative Effects From Drive Compression was marked as the answer
This is a subject where there is little hard benchmark data .. this is the best I could find:

    https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-ntfs-compression,3073.html

Seems that the performance hit would be very small if you have a reasonably modern multicore processor, but the space gained is not a lot either, around 20% extra space. On my own case, I prefer to have the drive not compressed .. as the SSD drive costs nowadays are pretty low.

  17. Rudel_chw's post in Drawings & static templates was marked as the answer
Static Templates can only contain Units (Ground, Air and Naval) and Static Objects. For the units, the Template also stores all its properties: Waypoints, Liveries, Radio presets, etc.

Currently, the Templates do not contain other objects, like Weather, Trigger Zones, Action Triggers, nor draw objects.
  18. Rudel_chw's post in Controller mappings lost was marked as the answer
Maybe that update made windows re-assign new USB IDentifications to your throttle, look at the folder where DCS saves your mappings, for example on my DCS, for the A-10C I've got these files:

You can see that over the years, each time Windows has assigned a new USB ID to my Hotas, DCS has begun a new bindings (mapping) file with extension .diff.lua
See if you have files similar to these, their dates will tell you when each file was last changed ... do you have one with the date the issue started? If yes, copy the contents of the file with just prior date, onto the newer one, this should recover your bindings. Repeat for every aircraft that had this problem.
Important: Use a good text editor to do this content copy, like Notepad++ ... the windows standard Notepad is not good for editing lua files.
  19. Rudel_chw's post in F-15E... shot down! was marked as the answer
unfortunately, the F-15E employs an advanced instruction set called AVX (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Vector_Extensions) , which are not supported by your Athlon II processor.
this is the first DCS module to employ them, that’s why older modules still work on your pc.
  20. Rudel_chw's post in Aircraft doesn't show in Mission Editor was marked as the answer
OK, then maybe you have the historic filter enabled (the clock icon on the status bar of the ME) and either the mission date is set to a year the 15E didn't exist yet, or ED has not updated the historic filter to account for the 15E.
  21. Rudel_chw's post in Issue when chosing a soundfile under actions in rules for trigger window was marked as the answer
    Hi,
    Try the following:

    exit dcs
    Rename the file "C:\Users\your-user\Saved Games\DCS.OpenBeta\MissionEditor\settings.lua"  to settings.bak
Here DCS stores your mission editor preferences, with this rename it will generate new default preferences.

  22. Rudel_chw's post in training files not showing..... was marked as the answer
Check that you have the map that each mission needs, I found that DCS wont show missions for maps that are not installed.

  24. Rudel_chw's post in Kneebord for each single module...help! was marked as the answer
Lets try with an example ... try the attached mission. There are three aircrafts: a Hornet, an F16, and a TF-51 .. all three should show the image that is at /KNEEBOARD/IMAGES, like this:

In addition, the Hornet should be able to show the page that is at KNEEBOARD\FA-18C_hornet\IMAGES  like this:

and finally, only the F-16 should display the page at KNEEBOARD\F-16C_50\IMAGES

Please be aware that the kneeboard is limited to 256 pages, and I suggest to use JPG rather than PNG to save space on the mission.
    Best regards,

    Eduardo

  25. Rudel_chw's post in Getting selected Trigger zones to show on the F10 map in a multiplayer mission? was marked as the answer
The only way I can think of, is to draw a circle or polygon that matches the trigger zone, and make it visible only to your coalition or player.
