  1. I lost that livery due to some harddrive failure some time ago. Sorry guys.
  2. Can't wait to see what level of quality you guys are about to pull off. The crumbles already looked sublime and the Viggen is already superb. Thanks for this detailed update!
  3. I have no doubt SiTh, thanks for the update ;) I was just joking and I'm sure they have plenty to do before they can start spreading any news about a new ATC. Even X-Plane devs have been struggling for ages to create a better system and they're still on it. I hope they did celebrate that OB release with plenty of fuel. That new 2.5 trailer looks stunning!
  4. Thanks for sharing Witchking! (and rrohde for guiding me here ;) ) ATC is a forbidden question :p (that I'd love to know more about too). At least it looks like we'll finally have some weather effects hitting our canopies (someday).
  5. Ah, thanks guys ;) It sounds great!
  6. Very nice low-profile twist addon. I'm sure that option will interest many users (myself included ;) ). Also great if you can't/don't want to use rudder pedals. Any idea about the total angle L+R (unless it's better kept secret until that patent is properly filed)?
  7. Agreed. I would have preferred it that way too. But maybe there's a very good reason for that (at least the material is not weakened in the process). Still, the MCG looks stunning and we have the best of both worlds with plenty of multi-directional hats, a pinky/ring finger button, and a very nice palm rest. I can't wait to get lost in programming all that to make it trigger crazy things. :D
  8. Great! Thanks for sharing, AeroGator ;) It's good to see the original Russian markings will be available.
  9. One more reason to instabuy, make the world know and instabuy too. The Viggen teasers were already top-notch so that's the logical continuity and rise in greatness. Thanks for working hard and with such passion Heatblur.
  10. And rotaries on the throttle! Rotaries are great and can do many useful things. One of the best things on that clunky X55 throttle.
  11. Rejoice! It's back in DCS 2.1 and looking beautiful again! ;)
  12. @ SinusoidDelta: The "missing texture" is on the part just below the HUD glass and above the HUD controls (Su-33). ---- Those devices circled in your picture are called скаб (SKAB). They're used in combination with the helmet mounted sight. There's no missing texture but a simple depiction of the mirrors. They should be constantly rotating (and are animated in the modelviewer). It's part of the HUD unit (ILS-31). They're a little more detailed in the recent MiG-29 cockpit (and not animated in the modelviewer). (I posted a quick info about that a while ago) I hope our lovely Flanker cockpit will be updated as soon as possible. I'm sure we'll have to be patient though. ED has to update many models and textures to use the PBR. (The L-39 cockpit is beautifully rendered in 2.1, so I really hope the Flankers cockpits will reach the same visual quality)
  13. I also tried forcing AA and Anisotropic filtering in NVIDIA control panel but it doesn't work. Both AA and AF are OFF in DCS settings. I didn't try with NvidiaInspector but it might be possible to force the settings that way. Back to AA/AF in-game settings for now.
  14. I perfectly agree with your two cents ;) And I'm sure those reflections are being tweaked while ED is working on the new engine including the PBR rendering and even considering additional rendering techniques that wouldn't kill the frame rate. We should have a better idea of the result in Normandy with the warbirds as they're probably the current priority. Afaik the L-39 have a different and much more subtle fake reflection rendering on the instruments glass and that's also something that makes the cockpit so pleasing. One other thing to consider with the fake reflection is that they look like wallpaper on surfaces with a stereoscopic rendering (mostly VR, but it's possible to have an idea of the issue with the anamorphic rendering). So that's something ED is also probably considering while modifying the existing textures. I'm eager to see a polished result in our cockpits.
  15. Thanks for sharing the files SinusoidDelta! After my post I decided to roll back to the previous DCS version to get the files and it's still slowly downloading (less torrent peers I guess). I'll test the files with the latest DCS 1.5 next and I'll report back. [update] : I tried using the v1.5.6.4546 files (.EDM + textures) but it didn't help - same issue.
  16. This issue first appeared in 2.0 and it has been reported (the backup compass is now a beautiful backup artificial horizon ;) ), so it's probably just a temporary version. The Su-27 cockpit model has been updated, so my guess is that the glare/reflection value is bound to the material properties of the model and not directly related to the texture used. (I'm not sure it could be fixed with a user-made modification) If someone could share the previous version of …\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Su-27\Cockpit\Shape\Cockpit_SU-27.EDM. It might be possible to use it (OvGME/JSGME) but I'm not sure it would be certified for MP use (or even fix that issue).
  17. Hi dburne, Nothing wrong about it if you're satisfied with the movement. If it feels loose enough, it's good enough. But for safe measure, you might want to extract the gimbal and check the bolts/nuts, as it's also a good opportunity to adjust each axis resistance/feeling to your liking. Otherwise, just follow the calibration guide from the official forum (w/ pictures) to loosen the dry clutches.
  18. Same boat here with a 5 wires connector. But I don't mind. I know VKB didn't intend to make different connectors at first but that choice was also the result of users feedback: some users managed to break their connectors, so VKB had to find a solution to make it more resilient and easy to mis-use. Thus, the quick-release/fastening connector. It might also imply improved electronics but I can't recall any details about that. So, in a way it's unfortunate, but it's also for the best. In the same way, we might see a MCG Pro Mk.II for some improved drooling :D
  19. That's also exactly what I'm thinking. A 4-way hat just acts as push buttons with instant tactile feedback. I would compare the usefulness of that feeling with the force sensing flight sticks and the short movement range that has been added due to pilots feedback for the F-16 (the Rafale control stick is also similar). Instant tactile feedback let you know exactly when the input has been sent and when the command should occurs. It's also probably easier to avoid pushing other directions/commands by mistake with a classic 4-way hat (under stressful conditions, altered mechanical response (aka post-parties syndrom ;)), improvised dumbness, etc.). It also offers a differentiation with other commands, like a mini-stick with axes controls (slew/tdc). That being said, we will probably adapt and use that emulated 4-way hat with ease but the feeling and responsiveness can only be different. Imho it should be a reasonable comprise between functions and dedicated controls. It will allow more flexibility (e.g. space simulations). That tech is also contactless (magnetoresistive), so those mini-sticks are extremely resilient and reliable - we'll destroy the plastic hats way before the sensors fail. I can't wait for that MCG Pro!
  20. I also own a BM + Cobra grip. The WT adapter could also be used with the Cobra grip for the Gunfighter but we would still need a metal connector and VKB can't offer such adapters for only a bunch of users (as it's CNC parts). Also the new connector part for the Cobra grip should be perfectly stable to avoid breaking the grip while using it. A DIY modification of the WT adapter could be possible but probably a one way trip. Let's hope the MCG will be there soon!
  21. A Gunfighters army ready for combat! What a beautiful picture!
  22. Same fate here! I already own a Black Mamba Mk.III used as a side-stick, a Gladiator I use on my thighs (w/ a support) for Elite Dangerous/WW2 airplanes, and now I can't wait to use the Gunfighter Pro with the helos (and the Su-27). I even tried to purchase an ECS throttle to mod it as a collective lever, but, unfortunately it didn't managed to go through my nasty customs  MCG soonish… That's probably what happens when you're so rich you own and fly so many different space/aircraft… We're lucky (and doomed). :smilewink:
  23. It means just that too. (including the "hopefully" ;) ) (and more…) (but don't chew the devices)
  24. No issues with the UTC velcro-mounted on a G930 here: I don't notice the lower arm while using it (roughly as noticeable as the deployed mike boom). My modified webcam is placed slightly to the right side, on top of the monitor, so even with the center LED close to the left ear cup, I don't loose the signal that easily if I turn my head to the right.
  25. Perfect pilot accessory ;) I'm always concerned my personal fuel would pierce a hole in the desk. Problem solved.
