  1. Why not wait for the Pimax Crystal and see how it compares to the Varjo?
  2. Hi All, Am I the only one who find this so annoying? Like to the point it makes this wonderfull sim irritating. I mean normally with a mouse I click rather fast buttons, but now I also have to concentrate to keep my head rather static... and then you see your mouse pointer jiggling like crazy all the time.... Who agree they should give us the option to at least turn head movement off when using the mouse....?
  3. Thnks for your answer, yeah in the RiftS I also had 80 or 40 between the two. That's indeed max fps, therefore asw is working really good. But if you would use the oculus tray tool in for example MSFS and lock it on 30hz, that's where the problems start with a ati gpu. Luckily tho you only play DCS.
  4. I think it works smooth because you hit max fps.. Try a game where you can't hit that max fps...and it's probably not that of a smooth experience, at least that is my experience. What headset are you using if I may ask? I have a 3090 now it's a lot smoother, in different 'VR' games and this is a big pro. MSFS is now playable also with lower fps, with some tweaks and tricks of course. The difference in truck simulator is night and day...Specifically for dcs tho, amd gpu's seem to work well. But I had a rift s and now a reverb g2, so i don't know how the rx 6900 xt would hold itself with the g2 in dcs. I think less smooth actually because of the lower fps stutters. My new 3090 stock is a tiny bit slower then my rx 6900 xt red devil in benchmarks. I did overlock the rx 6900 xt a little bit because it's so easy, but there is a limit. If they remove that .... I seriously think the rx 6900 xt can be convincingly aster. And it was like 500 dollars cheaper....imagine the potential. Those red devil cards are seriously cool. If AMD fix all this.... they have a winner for so.
  5. I agree with most, nothing can replace a hotas because that's actually what pilots use....The best VR addon are naturally gloves with small touch sensors. This but more subtle and compact: For now pointcrl is definitely the best solution.
  6. My advice is don't buy a amd GPU for now if you are VR gamer in general. I recently bought the rx 6900xt Devil, seriously beautiful gpu. It really impressed me, it's fast. I had to send it back tho because of gpu rendering issues, not compatible with certain software...but for VR it also got it's problems. In DCS I got max performance with my rift S, 80 fps smooth and asw is smooth. Amazing experience! But here is the issue, ASW only works smooth when you can achieve max fps. If you lock your fps at for example 30 in DCS, MSFS or Truck Simulator my 1080ti produces a smoother experience. I don't know why but with the amd gpu it's choppy and stuttery, basically not a nice experience at all...It performs bad compared to nvidia when the fps is below 45/40. In MSFS 30fps locked, even 18fps locked is an oke experience with my 1080ti with the rt 6900xt the scenery is always stuttery...it's just not playable. At 45fps it's a oke experience in MSFS..... In DCS I used asw 45 --> really smooth because of the max fps. 80 max is also smooth but a bit more occasional stutters... In short this is a serious con and makes the amd gpu's not future proof for especially MSFS with all the third party addons coming up or dcs with upcoming developments. And Truck Simulator for example was really dissapointing, AMD gpu's doesn't seem to work really well in some older games in VR... Maybe drivers will solve these problems, let's hope....I actually prefer AMD. If they fix these VR issues I would definitely advice an AMD gpu...more bang for your bucks. But if you want to be sure for now go NVIDIA.
  7. It's actually really smooth. For example if I up my graphics and get around 60 fps, it's not so smooth anymore flying low, then I use asw 45 lock and it's smooth with the usual minor asw effects. It proofs AMD can work perfectly with asw or reprojection, they just have to update the drivers. I read everywhere that people have problems with reprojection, it basically doesn't work oke, and when they adress this to amd they don't get any response. That's really really dissapointing, I hope they fix it soon. The advertise they are VR ready...they clearly aren't. I will buy the hp reverb g2 soon, so I will have the same problem.... BTW I think I locked my fps because I was testing, that's why asw wasn't working smooth. I think that was the problem....but I am not sure. Here are my settings:
  8. I did a test again and now asw works perfect, I feel stupid . I don't know why, did change some settings in my amd software....My max fps is a constant 80 and with asw on it's a constant 40 fps, it's perfectly smooth now. Thnks for the help, for oculus rift s all seems fine for now with a amd card.
  9. K srry peeps, I feel a bit stupid I changed some settings in the amd software, don't know what unfortanely and ASW is butter smooth now. If I know I will share....So for oculus rift s users the amd rx6900XT works smooth with asw. I hope they solve reprojection quick, at least we know for sure it is indeed capable of good reprojection.
  10. Yeah, let's hope they take it serious. If they fix it, I am actually really happy with the 6900xt. I will also send them some feedback that oculus users have the same problem. How do you lock 30fps? Do you use the radeon software?
  11. Thank you, but for example if I use oculus tray tool and lock it on 30hz with my 1080ti it's pretty smooth in MSFS. If I use my 6900xt and lock 30hz it's not smooth at all, weird because my fps is around 45/50 in MSFS. I will try again in dcs tomorrow and see how smooth 30hz is for example. And will check what my average max fps is...
  12. Really curious if this works nice and smooth enough. Yeah and also a finger mouse works in all flightsims... ctrlpoint is definitely the more sophisticated solution but it's limited for dcs at the moment. Great Idea I am really curious how smooth those trackpads are.
  13. Good question, I want to know how future proof the amd cards are. For example with my 1080ti I could still get a very decent experience in DCS, x plane 11 or MSFS with asw, or locked 30hz. Sure there where some artifacts but it worked oke. Now I have a way beefier gpu you would expect it would run smoother with ASW on or locked 30hz because it can easily keep 45 fps for example...But it's unplayable with asw on. Without asw it's smooth tho....maybe my cpu 3950x issues?
  14. Yeah I also got a lot of problems with asw with my oculus rift s and the 6090 XT, it's really fast but only without asw. I don't need asw for now, I just don't understand why it's so choppy compared to my 1080ti. Is this an amd problem in general? Or will drivers fix this soon?
  15. Somebody got experience with an amd gpu and the rift s? I bought a 6900XT and my fps is really smooth and amazing, but I was just experimenting with asw and it's really bad..... My 1080ti is basically smoother with asw enabled....And this is with every game I tried. Is this a driver issue? Or are the amd gpu's in general less smooth with asw?
