  1. We had a kid working with the ATO who they literally had to put tie-down chains in his float coat to weigh him down.
  2. Only if it's an A-6E.
  3. Oh and I forgot, having an H53E turning for hours on end because they can't get the winds right so the damned thing can shut down.
  4. I am looking forward to 9am cleaning stations, fod walks, man overboard drills, and the stinky feet of the guy in the rack above me tickling my nose as he tries to climb into his rack at 3am.

    ESG Ships?

Back when the AV-8B was in development, you guys teased a whole collection of ships including an LSD, LPD, and various other support ships. What ever happened to those?
  6. I have gotten the DGTR to fire, I attached it to a Fan Song radar.
  7. Yes, using it a new harrier mission I am building.
  8. Here is a script I used for one of my missions. ON THE FLIGHT DECK, CREWS ARE MANNING UP FOR THE [iNSERT MISSION TIME] LAUNCH. THE TEMPERATURE IS [TEMP], THE ALTIMETER IS [XX.XX]. IT'S TIME FOR ALL UNNECESSARY PERSONNEL TO CLEAR THE CATWALKS AND FLIGHT DECK. ALL FLIGHT DECK PERSONNEL GET INTO THE THE PROPER FLIGHT DECK UNIFORM. HELMETS ON AND BUCKLED, SLEEVES ROLLED DOWN, GOGGLES DOWN. CHECK CHALKS, TIE-DOWNS, AND ALL LOOSE GEAR ABOUT THE DECK. CHECK YOUR POCKETS FOR FOD, CHECK ALL ROTOR CLEARANCES AND PROP ARCS. START ALL THE GO-AIRCRAFT FOR THE [TIME] LAUNCH. START 'EM UP!
  9. I made a Start em up sound file for a mission a while back. I am on the road right now but when I get home on Monday, I can post the script.
  10. Oh come on you can tell us, we are a very forgiving group :hides pitchfork:
  11. He added the note that it is no longer compatible with the current version.
  12. That is what I was thinking for a while as well. It does work both for a training area as well as an awesome Cold War (Soviet)/future war (China) AO. So I guess it'll be a race to see who can land a Hornet on the Rainbow Hotel first.
  13. Well I see no Cleanong Stations, no mustering of all E3 and below for working parties, no FOD Walk, or even the desperate last minute search for an Air Plan cartoon. I hate these EA modules with their lack of needed features. PS. I can't wait to throw my money at this and get under way.

    AIRBOSS

This looks awesome, just a note the CV "all aircraft call" you have as Nine Nine is actually pronounced Ninety-Nine. It's a message to all aircraft on the frequency for information such as weather, new BRC, deck conditions, etc.
  15. Only if we get accurate ASW with a multi-crew P-3C and/or Nimrod
  16. The carrier procedures are primarily for non-radar separation. This allows all aircraft to be separated by at least 500' vertically at all times in case I (VFR). You will see this kind of separation throughout both case I arrival and departure procedures. Case II and III the separation increases. While the carrier does have very powerful air search radars in the event of an EMCON situation the aircraft should all be separated from each other by default without anyone having to say a word.
  17. Grab your mops and brooms kids it's DCS: Cleaning Stations
  18. Finally figured out the embed video thing....enjoy
  19. An homage to the classic GrouchyMedia version.
  20. It is possible to do it the way you suggest, and in certain cases it is done. However, during Case I operations it allows for harrier landings while helicopters are staged on the starboard spots. This means that the Harriers can land be rearmed while helicopters/Ospreys are ferrying Grunts and supplies to the beach without having to protect for a long rollout by a Harrier.
  21. Man, getting closer to my time at NBG...absolutely love it. Now we just need a RIVER callsign in DCS and it will be perfect.
  22. USN/USMC tail lettering is based on which fleet they are in and what airwing they are in. "All Navy squadrons stationed on aircraft carriers in the Atlantic Fleet have a tail code starting with the letter "A." Pacific Fleet squadrons start with the letter "N." The pattern for Marine Corps squadrons is not quite as clear but units on the east coast often start with a letter in the first half of the alphabet while those on the west coast often start with a letter in the second half." http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/history/q0301.shtml
