Thanks for the information feefifofum and for the fix!

Hey Baltic, I started the campaign in the Beta and didn't get too far and decided to restart in the stable version. I'm having some trouble towards the end and waypoint 7 - circling but nothing happens. Gave the wingman an extra tank of gas but looks like some trigger is missing. Maybe something got broken when the campaign was ported to stable or I'm missing something? Everything was working fine and flew through waypoint 7 at 20K and circled for a while but nothing happened.

The Mirage also has a fantastic free campaign made by Baltic Dragon. Well worth the investment.

Massive RAM usage on Persian Gulf map
Dun_Aenghus replied to Dun_Aenghus's topic in Bugs and Problems
With today's patch, I'm seeing a lot of improvement on my end and the map is finally playable with some stutters. Hopefully it'll be totally fine once it moves to stable. Good job from ED on optimization. -
Massive RAM usage on Persian Gulf map
Dun_Aenghus replied to Dun_Aenghus's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have the feeling the latest update improved things slightly for me but my memory still gets used to the maximum after a few minutes. Very frustrating - this should be working properly with 16gigs of RAM. -

It would be nice if we could get some official word from ED on whether more optimization is expected for the new map. -

Thanks guys, I might wait it out for the next update. Otherwise I'll give process lasso a try. -
Massive RAM usage on Persian Gulf map
Dun_Aenghus replied to Dun_Aenghus's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for the help Daniel. I'm not an expert on the virtual ram setting but checked and it seems 16320MB is allocated. Again, the performance is reminiscent of the Caucasus map when it first came out. That is now running really well on my system, strange that there is such a huge difference with the Persian Gulf. -

lol, sorry about that - 4 cores/8 threads. Here comes a screenshot with some more details while flying on PG map. -
Massive RAM usage on Persian Gulf map
Dun_Aenghus replied to Dun_Aenghus's topic in Bugs and Problems
Running with a Xeon E3 @ 3.40 GHz and a GTX750 TI 2GB. Tried again and RAM hit 14.8GB while CPU load was only 17%. Screenshot of my settings attached - preload radius is 12,800. I had the same issues with the new Caucasus map but that improved after two updates. Might just have to wait and hope for the best. -
Massive RAM usage on Persian Gulf map
Dun_Aenghus replied to Dun_Aenghus's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just tried a simple free flight and things got slower and slower. Eventually had a crash and blue screen. Still no problems with the other maps. -
I have 16GB of RAM and after a few minutes in the air, things slowed down considerably. After checking the task manager, 15.6GB of that was being used. Everything is working well on the Caucasus and Nevada maps so wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem. Was hoping ED's new memory manager would make sure RAM consumption stayed lower. I'm sure all of those cities consume a lot of memory but that much is a bit worrying...

I know some folks had issues with the kneeboard in the Viggen but I'm still unable to cycle between pages in the latest update in the F-15C and several other aircraft. Also unable to mark position...anybody else having kneeboard trouble?

Just adding in here that on a mission to intercept SU-24s, I needed hits from two AIM-120Cs and a Sidewinder to bring down just one of them. Used pretty much all of my weapons to destroy two enemy aircraft. The damage model needs some tweaking for definite...as was seen when the Turkish shot down the Russian SU-24 and the Hornet downed the Syrian sukhoi in real life, a single AIM-120 hit should be enough.
-
Just to add in that the Mirage has an absolutely fantastic campaign, probably the best and most immersive campaign in DCS. It's really on another level compared to most other modules. In terms of its bugs, there is absolutely nothing serious or game-breaking to worry about.
-
That's great news and adding it into FC3 is a no brainer. Is the J-11A equipped purely with Russian weaponry or does it also carry indigenous missiles like the PL12?

Persian Gulf/Hornet Stream April 15th 9:00am PST (4:00pm GMT)
Dun_Aenghus replied to NineLine's topic in Community News
When the A10C was released all those years ago, we got new units/3D models such as the F-15E, KC-135, etc. I know we are getting the updated carrier but will we also get updated 3D models of the SH-60 or new aircraft like the F/A18E and F or the C2 Greyhound? Also perhaps some more U.S. ships like the Arleigh Burke class which is really missing from DCS World. -
Local languages for radio calls (Arabic/Persian)
Dun_Aenghus replied to Spudknocker's topic in DCS: Persian Gulf
It would be great to see more languages and different accents for countries. American accents when we're flying F4s, F5s and F14s for the IRIAF would be a bit of an immersion killer. -
Where are we with the memory leak bug etc.?
Dun_Aenghus replied to imacken's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I'm still having problems in single player. It's a bit better after the most recent update but RAM usage is quite high (out of 16GB) and the mouse movement in the cockpit is incredibly sluggish, making it nearly impossible to click anything. Hoping for another update soon. -
You might want to take a look at how much memory is being used in your task manager while you play - it's entirely possible you're affected by it if you're crashing after 20 minutes. For me, frames are good but things slow down after about 15 or 20 minutes to the point where I can no longer move the mouse around the cockpit. Checked RAM usage and it's nearly all of my 16GB.

does Huey UN campaign actually work in 2.5?
Dun_Aenghus replied to jozeff's topic in UN Pilot Included Campaign
I can't say much for the huey campaign but the default campaign for the Mi8 seems to be broken. As far as I know, the DLC campaigns (and Mirage one) were updated for 2.5 but not sure about the rest. -
Well for me, I mainly fly single player and while the performance is initially good, the memory usage creeps up and things grind to a halt after 20 minutes or so. Hugely frustrating but I have faith that they’ll identify and fix the problems.
-
These problems are frustrating for many people but as Bignewy says, it is a beta. If you really spent a fortune on the game, played it for years and love it, I simply cannot fathom why you are walking way from a beta for good over some performance issues that have yet to be ironed out.

We need to have a chat about memory...
Dun_Aenghus replied to Stacker's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Are any of you guys also encountering RAM issues in single player or is it purely multiplayer? I have 16GB and my system is slowing to a crawl no matter what.
