  1. Yes click Axis Assign, there is a bogus device column right next to the Hotas Warthog column that has the pitch and yaw assigned, I removed that device and assigned Joy X and Joy Y to the HOTAS.
  2. Thank you. They talked about what's in it but not one word about when!
  3. So everything you do in a flight sim besides having your head down fiddling with your cockpit is just to look cool? Speak for yourself!
  4. Thanks for pointing this out. Have you seen any activity on this lately?
  5. Thank you and yes I would purchase new FC3 aircraft or even the study version if it could be limited similarly.
  6. I'm what I call a semi simmer. I'm a stickler for realism in the areas I deem it to be important for immersion and flying skill, but not for tedium. The areas where I want maximum realism are: 1. Physics - flight models, damage models, weapon performance, TWI/radar performance, countermeasures, etc. 2. Flight control - stick, rudder, trim, flaps, air brake, gear, tail hook, wheel brake, etc. 3. Environment - graphics, AI, etc. But to a somewhat lesser degree: 4. Radar and weapon management systems 5. Aircraft management systems 6. Communications\Command(wingmen, etc.) I like 4 & 5 limited to the level of the Flaming Cliffs A10A for example. I get no enjoyment spending a lot of time managing the aircraft systems, and at my age (an old fart) still keeping a 9-5 job I simply don't have the time and/or patience to do it and keep going in all my other hobbies (cars, guns. RC planes, etc.) too, lol. Just curious how many others there are like me. I would like full detail modules to come with a mode like this, not just full realism or game mode. Could there be a "Flaming Cliffs" mode? What's important in a flight sim to me is state of the art realism in the physics and flight controls so I can out fly or out strategize the other guy with no handicaps, have to manage my energy, full landing difficulty, everything, except just not have to click every button and go through every MFD menu, too old for that crap. :) [/Rant] Thanks for listening.
  7. Thanks to all of you. I had tried more light last night but I tried that again with even more light and I think that was it. Got 6DoF back!
  8. My Odyssey+ is only giving me 3DoF after I updated DCS and it seems to be a common issue but I have not found a solution. Therefore my cockpit head position will not move and the default position is too high, I cannot use the gun for example on a low level strafing run because I can't see the pipper. Does anyone know a fix for this or a way to lower the default head position when using VR? Thanks in advance!
  9. I am having this exact problem. I use a Samsung Odessey+ and I had 6DoF before with this and my Acer WMR headset, but I've been out of it for a year or so and now after updating DCS I have only 3DoF. I wouldn't care that much but I can't change my cockpit head position, it's too high, I can't use the gun because I can't get low enough to see the pipper. I have a lamp on my desk that the headset can plainly see and this wasn't a problem before so I don't think it needs more light. Anyone have any other suggestions, or even just a way to lower the head position? BTW I've rebooted everything twice. Thanks for any help.
  10. I really would like to fly F4s off a carrier or Thuds out of DaNang and try to make it back alive. IMO it was one of the most dynamic air engagements ever and a game changing time in aviation history. You had just the beginnings of air to air missiles that sucked, you still had to out fly your opponent and get behind him but have ass kicking jets to do it in. The SAMs were relatively easy to defeat compared to today's but there were lots of them so high pucker factor, and then trying to make it back to the ship (or at least to the sea where you could be picked up). It just seems like the whole environment would be awesome, and don't forget to pipe in some Doors, lol. I wonder why this era is pretty much ignored? Well at least we have a Huey, that's a good start. Hell I think flying an OV-10, marking targets for the F4s would be awesome too.
  11. I just ordered a TWCS and Warthog flight stick to replace my X52 Pro I've had for years. I don't want rudder pedals under my desk because I've BTDT and to me it just isn't worth it. I hate twisting the stick though and for years have been missing the rudder paddle that was on my Top Gun, so I was very glad to learn about the TWCS. The Warthog throttle doesn't have this feature and I want the paddle axis for rudder way more than I want dual throttles and a bunch of extra switches I have to reach for. I'm thinking of cutting and painting a heavy metal plate to mount the TWCS to so they look like a pair, and I bet it will give a nice quality feel to the TWCS too.
  12. So I bought A-10C after spending some time with the FC3 A-10A, P51 & F5E. I'm not prepared to invest the time and effort to learn the A-10C hardcore, I bought it mostly thinking it might have a more advanced flight model than the A-10A from FC3. Does anyone know how the flight models compare between the two modules and if it changes if you use the Game profile in A-10C? I like realism in terms of flight, just don't enjoy or have time to learn all the systems management. Flame away. :D
  13. I want to start DCS without using VR sometimes for watching tracks. etc. but if my headset (Odyssey+) is plugged in it always boots WMR and Steam VR. I can't figure out how to close WMR or SVR without it also closing DCS. I used to run an ACER WMR headset & a different monitor about a year ago and had no issues like this. Now my setup has changed and so has DCS and Windows and I'm having this issue. Thanks!
  14. Thanks everyone for the feedback. I went for the Odyssey+. Found one on Ebay for $250 including shipping. I can't wait to get a headset that I can actually use with both eyes, lol! Now the waiting begins.
