  1. Hi Everybody just want to warn you all about the new F-18 warthog replacement stick. I just received mine today and attempted to replace it by removing the A-10 stick. My warthog stick is older as I purchased it when it first came out. The silver twist dial at the base of the a-10 stick absolutely refused to turn loose. In my attempts to loosen the silver dial the entire A-10 joystick sheared off. During the attempt to loosen the dial twisted the gimbal counter clockwise over 90 degrees resulting in what I think broke off the magnetic sensor inside gimbal completely and maybe even broke the control wires for the stick buttons in the base station. End result I now have a totally dead A-10 joystick a totally dead warthog joystick base station and a brand new very expensive replacement stick that are all useless. Just a heads up that the two finger twist instructions might not apply. Hope this saves someone else from a very sad day. EDIT **** #1 Hi all I'm just sending a warning that I have one of the first warthogs sold serial number 2940.... if you ordered the replacement stick and your A-10 silver disk does not want to turn loose don't try to force it that's all. Leave it alone unplug it and save it for the f16 / a10 flights. Buy a new base for your new F-18 stick that's all. EDIT**** #2 Once again the silver dial was completely seized, IT WOULD NOT TURN COUNTER CLOCKWISE AT ALL, after the damage was done I didn't care anymore as I knew entire stick and base were gonzo. I went to my neighbours and the extra set of arms and two pairs of vice grips were actually able to get the silver dial to finally turn off. So once again to anyone trying to replace the A10 stick with the F18 one...if the silver dial does not want to turn LEAVE IT ALONE. Anyway all is good I bought a new stick and have the new F18 stick setup and good to go. Thanks to all that offered help I appreciate it guys.
  2. I have this exact same problem that also just occurred after installing 2.5.5.31917. I run my DCS server on a Windows 7 machine. The local Web GUI never worked but the remote Web GUI always worked when I logged on using my DCS account on the DCS website. Since then I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, cleaned the dedicated DCS beta server many times and nothing ever allowed me to reconnect via remote web Gui. I have tried the following browsers Edge, chrome, and Firefox...each one reports server not responding.
  3. Had to share this replay its version 2.5.2.187356 so if you play it in higher version it will not replay correctly. I was practising carrier traps in VR on my Rift while drinking a few cold ones. When I finally do get down and tag the 3 wire and enter roll back the last drop of fuel flows thru the pipes lol. It made me laugh. F18Flight01 2018-06-21 carrier 07 - 3 Wire NO GAS.trk
  4. This happened to me as well after initial install twice. The work around I did was to make a mission with the av8b and then fly it. Exit from the mission then go set up your key bindings they will now save. Flying in the quick mission first seems to auto generate the lua files inside the C:\Users\???????\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\Config\Input\AV8BNA directory, prior to doing this those lua files were missing.
  5. Wags I need to know if I have to call in sick to work tomorrow ASAP.
  6. Had fun looking for the perfect shot.
  7. No don't do it, I placed the checkmark in the use bonus bucks...it deducts the bonus bucks from your bonus and you still get charged 49 bucks.

  9. I'm okay with what ED has done. As I have stated before I'm happy that DCS is trying to expand the sims fan base into the very popular WW2 genre. More customers equals more profit equals more modules equals expanded popularity of a shrinking and almost extinct game class. Honestly what are the other options available to us providing a sim of this level? A-10c personally blew me away as I have never seen anything even comparable to it ever and my final answer to this is I want more, sooner rather then later and anything that can help make this happen I'm in.
  10. I'm with the majority of peoples posts in this thread, and also say thank you ED for assuming the project and changing the rewards allotted to us to choose the backer planes we would like and adding in beta access on top of that. I think WW2 planes are ok, I will fly them here and there but in the end I backed this Kickstarter just to see ED's popularity grow....so hopefully I can get that F-18 that has been mentioned being worked on once or twice in these forums sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I think my number one key got stuck by some bubblegum or something.
  11. I think now would be a very opportune time to release edge/hornet. LOL
  12. This sounds reasonable. Only one small question that I and 311 other people will have regarding the $50 pledge level...will we get the BF-109? Pledge $50 or more 312 backers ALPHA Tier 1. Everything at the $10 ORIGINAL level, plus a digital copy of all flyable aircraft in the initial release, plus ALPHA ACCESS. Estimated delivery: Feb 2014
  13. That's awesome Ryan, a true work of art. Also love the air brakes, they are a bit of USMC flair! Keep up the great work.
  14. I say make the free item a world war 2 willy with a M20 side arm that is based at an airfield. They can tow a gas wagon to refill the "purchased" dry ww2 planes. This will allow them to watch the fun from down below see what they are missing way above, but still fire on the enemy that breaks thru. Plus this opens the path for CA: WW2. I won't have to worry about this as I will be flying the DCS F-18 over Nevada.
  15. I backed this project because I wanted ED to expand in popularity and hopefully incur greatly increased profits with a final goal of reducing the huge timelines it takes to develop new airframe, maps and new in game content (i.e. the greatly anticipated F-18 and the release of EDGE and maybe its SDK) I couldn't give 2 cents about printed manuals everyone has a portable device to display pdfs, or as many others have stated take it to a print shop and get it professionally bound. When it comes to WW2 aircraft a printed manual is really required when compared to a A-10C or F-18C avionics level. The strategy guide? Well i envision this as the same 5 chapters that were included with every boxed flight sim that we purchased prior to the digital only era. i.e How to Initiate the energy fight, the turning fight, the two circle fight, the one circle fight, the break turn, the barrel roll, the scissors, rolling scissors, dives, yo-yos, Immelman, split-s....etc..... T-shirts? I can go to target and buy a popgun tshirt for 8 bucks. Posters oh boy....still not flying new content with other DCS lovers. So when I pledged I tried to avoid the t-shirts the manuals and go for the most free aircraft possible....and honestly due to the very un-well described pledge levels I'm still not really sure what free aircraft I'm entitled to. One final note is this is an opportunity to trash the completely separate build of DCS WW2 and keep everything in one module....multiplayer games could determine what timeline you want to join into...and I for one would like to keep DCS under one hood so to speak. I also would welcome someone to develop a civi jet airliner so DCS could steal all the former FSX/Prepar 3D crowd customers and once again expand there customer base in hopes of reducing new content timelines significantly. Cheers all, and thank you to ED for picking up the ball on this one. Now please hurry up and get that F-18 released.
