100% ! Can you Imagine the possibilities? Use the Me to have delayed starts with ground sea and air . We could turn a 6 hour mission into a Campaign !.. When they first talked about DCS Dynamic Campaign, I thought, Impossible without a Save Game Function . Great News for Another Simple man ! ~s~

I got Mine today and installed them. Please Take Care with those TINY screws ? ...use a VERY small bit of BlueTack to hold the screw straight on your Screwdriver ! ..DO NOT FORCE OR CROSSTHREAD !....Magnetic Screwdriver may not cut it ! This is NOT a Review, just some observations ! (1) Cockpit looks great. Less Head movement to see all ! (2) Outside the Cockpit . Terrible ! Spotting : Greatly Reduced in perfect conditions using my test mission with labels on /off to verify distance ! I coudlnt see a Ju 88 at 3k unless I knew where to look . Even then it was a Struggle . (3) Combat with EA !...Floating , blurry....with no Focus . Conclusion for Me in DCS !..These lenses may be great for a Driving Sim where the whole world is contained within 500 metres . They would be great . I am not bashing Pimax because I am Very happy with my Crystal. For me, Back to 35 PPD lenses for DCS ! One more Note ! I had a massive headache that I never got before . May be relavent or Not.

Guys and gals , the new Pimax Update with Eye Tracking is Amazing . I thought it was a Gimmick when I was Calibrating it. I just had a Dogfight and I can say its Subtle but a great improvement . I am sure you will hear more on YT soon.... I am so glad I waited for the Crystal to get into VR. NOOOO regrets ~S~

Hi all !. I have been simming since (feels like Centuries ago) PCs had 4 Mbs of Ram and a TNT Riva or a Voodoo 3Dfx was the Greatest money could buy !......I have been sitting on the fence since VR came out for a lot of reasons. Reading Forums put me off, Steam VR, Open composite , tunnel vision, Fov and all the questions that come up in the forums. Complications and Problems that I didnt need ! Afterall, I have a great Monitor with a great Graphics card ! (3080ti at the time) ! What more could I want ? Long story Short. My Pc Died !..My fault !..I wont go into details except to say I should have taken more notice of what HW Info was showing ! So I bit the Vr Bullet with my new Pc upgrade. I bought the Pimax Crystal. I have had it about 3 weeks now . I had some MASSIVE headaches setting it up but now its great ! My Comments to you : VR Cannot be Described in Words ! It IS the NEXT Level that brings a Simmer So close to Reality ! IT IS ASTOUNDING the VR Cockpit and you will have to Sit in a Static Cockpit and say "O my F God ! I know its not Cheap . Make VR your next Upgrade. Trust me Lads, Ladies. It will open a new world in Flight Simming. ~S~

Thanks Lads ! I got it all up and running. OMG , VR ! WOW ! I am going to do a Post here about my Pimax experience when I have most of the issues sorted. (Youtubers Only say OMG with no Help ). Hopefully, I can pass on my Pimax experience Warts and All . Stay tuned !~S~

Ive just spent 6 hours trying to get the crystal to work !... Open Xr,Pmax xr ,Pimax client .. No joy ! as a desperate last result, I downloaded steam Vr and got it to work but I dont like Steam Vr ! I end up Under the Cockpit, I dont know how to Center the View , Any Advice or Help would be Appreciated ! ~S~

Update Lads ! Got DCS running great. USB assignments changed so I had to start from scratch with controllers . Not really a big deal..Just take it Plane by Plane ! I didnt have to Download DCS again. (Thanks). Hardware Upgrade : AM5 and MB (after a BIOS update) are Great . I made one BIG Mistake ! Dont make the same if you are upgrading...I bought an Asus MB and I bought a Gigabyte 280 AIO. The Cooler has to have a USB 2 connection to the MB. ( I just lost a USB header on my MB...The Fans DO NOT connect to MB cpu headers and BIOS will show NO CPU Cooler Present ! You have to set BIOS to "IGNORE".... Bloatware with the Cooler : Even if is Enabled in startup menu, it doesnt always work. (CPU Idle= 60c ) . I dont like It !.. If the Gigabyte Software fails, CPU may be Fried !..Hope I have given back to all simmers some tips ~S~

Got DCS back and running after some dramas ! ...Guys, here is my Upgrade . AMD 7800 x3d , 64G 6000 Ram, Asus Strix 670e MB, 990 Pro Nvme, Msi RTX 4090. My Monitor hasnt changed . It is ROG PG48Q at 3440+1440. . Lads, I have some "canned Missions" that have been using for Benchmarks over the years. I use GPU-Z to monitor when running DCS. I use Logitech (keyboard) to show CPU/RAM usage. I am not going to get too deep into statistics. OLD System : CPU usage 90%.CPU Temp 70-80c. 3080ti Hotspot 80C. Openbeta frame rate in Mission 45-70 FPS. New system : CPU usage 30-60% average. CPU TEMP : 34-60 C. 4090 Hotspot 60c. FPS is 80-100 (Monitor settings).. Just flew my Spit and wow ! Smooth, Smooth, Smooth ! Thanks for all your help lads !

Rob, I was going to go again with Intel after years of great performance ! BUT, Power Usage is Going Up and Up with CPU Frequency. I measured my Wattage with 9700k,3800ti with DCS MT . 700w (excluding monitor). I have a 1kw power supply . I am Not a Greenie by any means but I know ( I work in Electrical field ), New Graphics Card ( How many watts ) ( god Knows ), New 1.3Kw Power supply with Amd will give me some headroom with Power and heat in my case. AMD Cpus are less power hungry. Rob, I will let you know after my new build. Thanks Lads for very Helpful replies ! ~S~

Hi all. At the moment, I have a 9700k,3080 Ti and win 10. I have Dcs on an SSD and my "Saved Games" folder is on Another drive ! ... I want to do Clean Install of Windows (due to all the crap I have Cloned over the years ) on my new PC. I am switching to AMD 7800x3d so I want a new OS that is clean. Do I have to Download DCS again ? I Dont want to go through setting up my Controls again. (I have ten planes ) . Any advice appreciated ! ~S~

Thank you Pikey. I am in the middle of Reflecteds Beware,Beware Campaign (loving it) and could not get my compass to match the heading in the Info Bar. Trying to Adjust it in Flight is not going to end well when you are over enemy territory and want to RTB ! So I have to turn on info bar to navigate . (not very realistic). Thanks mate, I thought I was doing something wrong.! ~S~

After a lot of work, I have made a Stream deck profile for the Spit. Its not quiet finished but if there is any Interest, I will Post it. I am doing K4,IL16,Dora, Mustang at the moment !..More to Come !

HI DCS. I have brought this up before but now its 2021 ! I am TRYING to setup my Stream Deck for Spit,K4,Il 16,Dora,P51, P47 ! What a Nightmare ! Altimeter Up and Down= Different Keystrokes for Each. Gunsight, Compass HDG and So Many more . COULD you PLEASE THINK about Unifying YOUR Modules to A SET of GIVEN KEYSTROKES ? I Know, not All keys Apply to each Aircraft and there will be Disruptions to DCS Players Controls Bindings that will make them Unhappy . Can You PLEASE Patch this 2014 Controls Menu to 2021 ?

I have been using Saitek for years. I got my VIRPIL VPC ACE Pedals two weeks ago. Quality and Engineering is astounding. I have been Simming for 25 Years and have Never had such precision in a set of Pedals. I fly mostly WW2 planes. HIGHLY Recommend them !

After 3 years away from DCS nothing has changed ! Buy a new Aircraft and Rudder is Bound to MGs, Throttle is Bound to Views, so here we go Again !...Clear each Controller and its Inputs. ..have a Fly, No, I missed a Binding that ED gave me !....ED, can we have a CLEAN controller menu when we start ? ... Experts are going to tell me about LUAs ! ....How hard can it be to choose our `own CONTROLLER BINDINGS " ?

I spent hours Downloading "Normandy Early Access". (I am a Backer) of Luthier:clown_2: So after a few hiccups I get "DCS Normandy" running.(And after searching Forums to Find out "What version is Compatible"?...) So now I see a New DCS GUI. I have to Download all my Modules to It. Fine. Now I look at the "Options" Menu. I have to do ALL of them Again. I see ALL my controllers have Already been Bound to Multiple Axes (Again). Well done on that one ED....I know I can Delete them... and Hopefully I wont miss one. So now I have my Spit, FW ,P51 and Have to Program "EVERYTHING" Again. I couldnt be bothered . Too much Drama. ED , As a Simmer, I want to support you. My opinion is DCS is "All Over the Place". Its 1.5, its 2.0 Alpha and Beta...its 2.5 up and coming. Why Make it so Hard to FLY DCS ? PS Don't tell me How to use LUA files. I just want to Program my Options/ Plane Once in DCS and go Flying. J~S~

Thanks for all you comments lads. I've harped on about this topic before , I know. But I believe it's important moving forward for DCS. We have DCS 2 coming as well as Edge and lots of new stuff on the horizon and I am excited by it all. (20 years ago my Simming was Triangles and outlines)...(OOh I remember when I bought my first 3dFX Voodoo card ). Sorry I digress ! My point is this : NEWCOMERS to DCS !. ...They Have a rig that can Run DCS, Buy their first module and want to go Flying straight away after a little bit of Setup. They jump in and Find Rudder is bound to Pitch, Joystick is bound to Throttle, Sliders are bound to Roll Axis etc etc.. Why make it this Hard For newcomers to DCS. Then they Have search the Forums, Find out what LUAS are ! They want to Fly, They have bought their Favorite Plane to fly DCS (Maybe they are moving From another Flight Game to DCS). I do not want to Sacrifice the the Fidelity of DCS or any of it Modules. I honestly believe that ED can do this Better and make it Easier and more user-Friendly for Pilots that may be joining DCS for the first time. That's it , I have said my piece on this topic. ~S~ to all.

Whats this supposed Prove ? I didn't say I want a GENERIC Gear/Up down for every module. GO check "Trim Nose UP/down" for every module. Why get so Defensive ?

BigNewy ! my win 7 had a virus. So I wanted a Clean Install.. I wasn't Risking any File (especially on a USB Drive. I know that each and every aircraft Is different. I got that. But why should all my controls come "Pre-Bound" to multiple Axis for the same function ! Why do I have to Program Different Keystrokes for the Exact same function. I would think that "canopy open/close" would be the same keystroke in every module. Its not.... And that is just one example of many ..Why cant I program "open/close canopy" for ALL my DCS modules ? Before any of the rest of the 10 year "Hardcore" chime in with their "I can do it in five minutes", I have been flying Lockon /Dcs since Flanker..I have always found the DCS controls menu a pain. I don't know how this affect cockpit Builders ? All I am suggesting is that When I open my DCS controls for the First time, I can start with a Clean Slate. I can Bind my Pitch,rudders etc and SAVE them for ALL modules. I can THEN go to EACH module and "SAVE AS" P51d for example. Then I can save all" Save as" for keystrokes... Again I say I think the Controls menu is dysfunctional especially for newcomers. Also as someone else mentioned.. Scrolling left and right to make sure you haven't missed an Axis that DCS has decided to bind for you. I am sticking with my Opinion. DCS is moving Forward but the Options/controls menu is back in the Eighties. ~S~ to all.

Hi bigNewy... I said Clean Install. I did backups on Win 7. I'm not using them. That's not the point. My OP is about the terrible Options/Controls menu in DCS. ...Axis duplicated and similar controls Separated for each and every module. I think it needs looking at by ed. ~S~

DCS is moving Forward..Controls menu in the Dark ages. Hi all ! I just did a Clean Install of win 10. So I got all my DCS modules back again. Controls Menu : ALL my Devices are BOUND to the SAME Axis !... So TM, Saitek Pedals.Throttle Quad etc all do the Same thing ? OK, no drama, go and Clear Category(scrolling left and right up and down to start again) ! Then I start to program my Axis, Curves and assignments. Done That ? Fantastic ! Now for my next Module ! Do it all again ? Remove the Axis that "Someone" has decided to Bind for me ! And to add to the Chaos, keystrokes for the Same function vary from one module to the next. Is to much to ask that COMMON Flight commands "Pitch",Roll".Rudder, Trim Nose.canopy ,gear etc could All be be set In an DCS Controls menu. Ive got 8 Modules to go. And Then FC3. Ed, this would have to be the most Un-user friendly GUI (INMHO). ~S~
