  1. Wow, how incredibly rude for a simple question. Perhaps YOU need the cliffnotes version. Not one part in there does it say that Round 10 is going to be Korea. It just says the Korean War one is on the new blueflag server for testing. Thats it. Moreover, I can't believe someone like you is affiliated with them. Gives blueflag a bad name
  2. This isn't the round 10 setup is it? You're just using it to test right?
  3. I did too at first. Had to double read it
  4. The wording in his post is weird, but I think he means that No ETs, ERs, or AMRAAMS are available.
  5. Sounds good! Looking forward to the next round! However, is it possible to get an even split of Mig29S to Mig29A's (Same number of Migs overall, just a split of A's and S's at each airfield)? I know a lot of us would only take the Mig29S only because of the R-77, which isn't allowed (ECM or otherwise). The Mig29A is just much better looking with the new model, a shame we can't fly it.
  6. Callsign: scoops Team: Fishbed COC and Rules Review: Yes Email Sent: Yes
  7. I'd like the 6th Mig-21 Slot In game name: scoops
  8. Fair enough, I was looking for a source on this one more than anything. If this is common knowledge, then thats my bad. True, not truly passively, but passively enough to not give off a launch warning, according to the article correct? TWS will still give off a search warning to enemy contacts obviously. Even still, in game (as far as I'm aware) even in TWS mode, you have to switch to STT to lock the target officially before you get a launch authorized, which is incorrect according to your statement and the link above. Is this whats modeled in game? If so, that explains it, but I was always under the assumption that no one knew for sure and that it currently isn't modeled in game as such. Right now (In game), the R77 is treated as a SARH missile, no matter what mode it is launched in. Once launched, it will always give a launch warning to the enemy aircraft, no matter what that enemy aircraft is. Of course, if the above is modeled in game, then that would explain it.
  9. Necro bump. Hate to do that, but I figure its better than starting a new thread. I have a couple of questions about the Mig29-S radar. 1. Why is it that TWS in the Mig29-S can only be used in a non-jamming environment? I know they are different systems, but shouldn't it operate somewhat similarly to the F15 TWS? Where you can still use TWS, but a jammer strobe still emits onto it? What is the point of TWS, then if it cannot be used in an ECM environment? 2. This one puzzles me the most. According to this: http://toad-design.com/migalley/index.php/jet-aircraft/mig29/mig29-n019-radar/ The Mig29-S, which has the N019 radar, has the ability to passivly launch R-77's, much the same way the F15 does in TWS. From the source In Track While Flyby Mode: "Track-while-flyby mode is intended to allow missile launch at maximum range with minimal warning to the target, by switching to single target tracking mode as late as possible." But in game, the R77 immediately (I am assuming) goes pitbull and uses its own radar to track, even while in Track While Flyby (TWS) mode, which therefore gives your target a missile launch warning. According to that, it should behave similarly to the AMRAAM in that regard, should it not? Thanks for the advice!
  10. Thanks! This also goes for the annunciator panel as well. Nothing shows up
  11. Can confirm. This crash happens when a player crashes into the ground without prior enemy/friendly damage to the aircraft. Tested it with one other person, if I crash into the ground as the server host, then all other clients connected will crash as well (but the server will stay up). If a client crashes into the ground without being the server host, then this will cause the server host to crash to desktop (and therefore the server will shutdown). I have video files available upon request
  12. Awesome Stream. One question though. Is the Mig29 a gas hog in real life, as it is in game? Or is that somthing to do with the flight model itself?
  13. Even still, it seems to describe as that it only enters STT after the missile is launched and it is near impact, as it says. I dunno, I guess its just wording at this point. Would like to hear someone chime in on this with more knowledge.
  14. Is it safe to say then, that the reason why the Mig29 gives off a radar lock and missile warning when firing ARH missiles is because of the missile? From what I understand (which isn't a whole lot) from here: http://toad-design.com/migalley/index.php/jet-aircraft/mig29/mig29-n019-radar/ is that the radar is programmed to only use TWS in the Mig 29 for guidance and doesn't actually give a lock until it enters STT shortly before impact. Is there a source somewhere that states the R77 goes immediately radar active in TWS? Or am I just misunderstanding things?
  15. I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I know the radar systems of the F15 compared to the Mig29 are vastly different, but is there any documentation to support that the TWS mode of the Mig29 operates differently than the TWS of the F15? I mean in relation to the F15 TWS mode being able to lock jamming targets, no launch warning, compared to the Mig 29 which cannot lock targets in TWS with jammers present (Only until burn through range) and gives off a launch warning anyway. EDIT: Found this: http://toad-design.com/migalley/index.php/jet-aircraft/mig29/mig29-n019-radar/ Not sure if its the same radar in the current Mig29 we have however quoted from the "Track while Flyby Section", So if it is the same radar system that is currently in our Mig29, should it not switch to STT just prior to impact? (Assuming this source can be trusted).
  16. Has ED stated if they are going to try and at least push the Mig update out before 2.0? Or is it coming with 2.0?
  17. As much as I am absolutely enthralled with a proper F14 sim (First day buy for me) I really, REALLY hope Leatherneck will return to their roots with the 2nd or 3rd aircraft and make something out of the Russian Department again. Maybe a Mig 23/25/31 or something else. When I think of DCS world, I think of a whole world of planes to chose from and play with, not just from either NATO or Russain sides exclusively. But whatever their choice, I'll be happy to support them with my hard earned cash
  18. Actually, I'm gonna place my bet now. The three in advanced stages in development are the: 1. F4u (based on the picture just released) 2. F14 (based on the "you would think the marines would have flown it" hint/Meow) 3. Mig 23 ( Wild card, but I know they have said somewhere they would like to attempt it someday, plus the middle image could also fit the profile view of the mig23 folded wings.) Either way the hype is real. This year is gonna be great for DCS and Leatherneck.
  19. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was both an f14 and an f4u. They did say there are three modules in advanced stages of development. I wonder what the third will be though?
  20. For those wonder what they are talking about, this is what the image looks like with the contrast/brightness/curves adjusted:
  21. Would love nothing more than a Mig 23 or 25 or 27
  22. Available on the Mig29S only.
