  1. https://aviationweek.com/defense-space/aircraft-propulsion/digital-twin-helps-pratt-expand-f119-performance-f-22 Pratt & Whitney rescheduled the digital electronic engine control in the F119 to unlock more kinematic performance after discovering that parts in the turbine were more robust than expected. Thanks to a newly created “digital twin” of the Pratt & Whitney F119 turbofan, a future software update for the Lockheed Martin F-22 will expand the kinematic performance in certain regions of the twin-engine stealth fighter’s flight envelope. As digital engineering tools proliferate through the...
  2. Very, not all airspace is sanitised, and firing missiles from altitude is therefore dangerous. If a third party can lase the targets or pass co-ordinates, either from cover or via a disposable drone, then the missile can be fired from low altitude and go up and over.
  3. With 3rd party lasing for this missile, does the missile have to see the target prior to launch, or can it be lofted?

  5. Meteor isn't technically a ramjet, it's a throttleable, ducted rocket, or CWDE (Continuous Wave Detonation Engine). The propellant is solid and contains some oxygen but not enough for complete detonation, it is pre-burnt to form a throttleable plasma, which is then injected into the ram system where it detonates in conjunction with the hot air.

  7. IFF is 1-2GHz which is L Band. RWR needs to cover down to VHF, since one of the S-400 radars uses this band. https://www.strategicfront.org/forums/threads/rafale-rb-of-indian-air-force-news-and-discussions.3/post-168189 https://www.strategicfront.org/forums/threads/rafale-rb-of-indian-air-force-news-and-discussions.3/post-170057
  8. I asked the question because I knew he worked in that area as his CV suggests. But believe whatever you want, if you want to believe that there's something magical about IFF RF transmissions that make them completely invisible to all RF band detectors that's up to you.
  9. I don't understand your question. IFF is just a radio wave transmission, so what would prevent this system working in the general sense? I always said that whether a specific ESM system could pick up a specific IFF was down to the specifics of each system, which are usually unknown. Okay, in terms of proof, this is as close as you will likely get on an internet forum. https://www.strategicfront.org/forums/threads/rafale-rb-of-indian-air-force-news-and-discussions.3/post-168303 https://www.strategicfront.org/forums/members/picdelamirand-oil.23/#about http://transition.wifeo.com/curriculum-vitae.php
