Just finished it, short review: Just like Jayhawk1971, bar the last two missions I didn't feel too much "hollywoodism" in it, enjoyed the banter that had about every reference one can have in the Tomcat culture of that era. It's a bit sad that DCS as it evolves always manage to break missions (and planes, sometimes), four at least were affected with various DCS bugs. Continuing was still possible thanks to a clever campaign progress, and a tip on this forum for alert 5 mission. I bought the ww2 campaigns and didn't play yet, so I hope ED didn't break those too much. A few missions were too long (80,90, 120 mins !!!!), and were difficult to shorten via time acceleration without missing on some dialogue. Overall quite worth my money, well done Reflected.
  2. Same as jayhawk. Waited until 16.03 to see if there was a timer involved (relief CAP was scheduled at 16.00), then ended the mission, I don't feel able to manage to trap in these conditions .
  3. I thought an outdated loadout could crash DCS, and since there were numerous patches recently, I posted the logs that I can't decyper either, in case you'd be able to. Anyway, I disabled most of the mods I had enabled "just in case", and well I could pass the mission, so maybe mods were at play. There was also a patch yesterday IIRC after my crashes, and I played some other missions without problems afterwise. Thanks for advice on the crash section, will use it next time.
  4. Game crashed again in this mission, a bit earlier this time. Either my install is porked (was very steady until these two tries at FTB8), or there's something mission related. I'll try to play something else in DCS and report on crashes. dcs.log-20220207-161622.zip dcs.log
  5. Briefing mentions intruders as bombers, but that's F-18s in the game. Also DCS crashed on return leg to the CV, I don't know if it's related to the mission or not. dcs.log.old dcs.log-20220207-083351.zip
  6. This one has been quite difficult for me too, managed to win it before the patch with luck after three tries. The main problem is that, playing only as a pilot and not going in the backseat at all, it's quite difficult to have jester not select Migs as a priority target. Asking him to scan high at the right time makes migs disappear and Tu22s to be the only target, but then if the shot is not taken soon enough even the TU22s get out of the scope. On my last, successful attempt I decided to shoot whatever jester had as a priority, wether it was mig or Tu22, and then try to position the Tomcat to keep everyone in the scope aperture. In the end only the mig was hit, but since I had been in afterburner all the way since take off we were on time to dispatch enough of them before they launched.
  7. Well I can't even manually extend them on ground so there still must be a key conflict somewhere I guess. Thanks for info nonetheless. Edit: I affected other joystick keys and now it works as usual. It's quite unfortunate that I get no info on what interferes with my previous joystick assignments, I guess it must be SRS but unsure, I'll have to go deeper. Thanks, still.
  8. Prior to latest patch (open beta), I could either extend or retract manually the wings, now I can only retract them, always have to use auto to get an extension. I checked, key is still affected.

  10. Dare I ask if said SU-25 campaign is one I was involved in ? If yes, when playing it I use EWR info to decide if/when to press or to retreat. When retreating I stay at treetop level (sometimes lower) and try to bring the opposition into my SAM bubble, while begging for CAP support via radio. It works pretty often, since flight distances are pretty short. I also successfuly engaged F-5/4s in self defense with R-60, and it can work too !
