  1. so, what VM app did you use? I just want to run DCS on a windows machine and use the graphics card I have installed on my physical local machine. I want to mirror my physical local machine as closely as possible. Is this possible - has anyone done it? How did they do it? What software did they use?
  2. HiJack - - I am not looking to set up a server - I am looking to just play DCS in a VM, install standard DCS world and run the aircraft that I have already bought, with the graphics card I have installed on my physical local machine. It sounds like you don't think this isn't possible? Can you say why? - when others are saying it is possible?
  3. Is it possible to run DCS on a VM that I install locally? I understand there might be issues with getting my local GPU to 'passthrough' to the VM? I'd like to be able to run a version of DCS on my local machine in a VM, with the GPU I have installed on my local machine. Is this possible? & how might I start to get it done?
  4. It kinda works - if I hold the mouse wheel down and adjust from there - but how do I save the view? When I press NUM 5 to recenter after using the Numpad to track an enemy in a dogfight it just gets me back to the original issue. How do I save it? ALSO why is it doing this in the 1st place? I have played this plenty of times before without this issue, but for some reason, on this install, it's coming up with this issue. It doesn't seem right to me?
  5. not sure - but I don't think so. What would I need to do to adjust that? I have tried zooming in/out using num / num * how do I adjust the 'sitting super close'? what does 'view defaulted too close' mean - and how would I adjust that? I don't know how to adjust 'leaning in'? I'm not using head tracking.
  6. I am trying to play DCS on the F-15. But the HUD seems to be zoomed all the way in. I have been playing the a-10 no problems, so I don't think its a resolution issue? Also, I couldn't find a specific f-15 thread? I am attaching an image of the issue - thanks.
  7. Thanks for your reply. But I am pretty sure it's not my local config as I'm getting the same list from my shadow - which is a VM running from a separate location. So, the only thing it can be is something to do with my account - or maybe DCS MP is not as good as it used to be. But I don't think this is the case. I should be seeing at least the growling sidewinder public server? I attached an image of the list I see a couple of messages back, check it out - is this the same as yours? Do you see the Growling Sidewinder public server?
  8. 2.5.5.35461 - attached image, just to be sure.
  9. Are there different server lists? I have a shadow, which is a virtual machine running on a fast server so I can play on max settings without a 1080. https://shadow.tech/gben The DCS server list is the same on my shadow, so it's nothing to do with my local configuration. If the DCS server list is accurate, then DCS MP has gone way downhill in just a couple of months. I can't even see Growling Sidewinders public server? Is it to do with my account? I have no idea what is going on here. I have attached a screenshot of the server list, so you can see how crap it is. also here: https://ibb.co/88qdjLF
  10. I am def up to date, so it's not that.
  11. I am having issues with the MP server. The list doesn't look right. It looks like it doesn't populated properly. I am coming bak after a couple of months away, but I dont see hardly any servers? Also, I'm not able to connect to server using a direct connection. I have the right details (via discord for growling sidewinder server) and it just comes up with server is offline. Obviously this is incorrect. The server is def up? Do I need to do anything with my router? Not sure what is going on TBH
  12. I am trying to download the dcs install but I have such bad internet that it keeps dropping. So, cant I just have the .torrent file and use utorrent to download it? I have found a bunch of .torrent files in the install/.torrent folder - but which one do I use?

  14. I know this will have been asked but can't seem to find a satisfactory answer. I am pretty new. I have finished training and am trying the 'Instant Action'. When I do I don't seem to be able to switch to guns mode using 'Master Mode'. I press 'M' but nothing? What do I need to do - I understand this will probably be a newbie question but I really need to know whats going on here? Thanks.
  15. Hey Wader8, sorry I don't think I have been very clear about my situation. I am using my phone essentially as my router via wifi tethering. I'm not using a cable, I am using wifi - this still counts as tethering AFIK? My carrier - three.co.uk - are pretty good at detecting if you are using your phone data via a tethered connection. basically, they can tell if you have a computer attached to your phone and are using that for the download. Honestly, I have researched this quite a bit. They are very good at detecting this kind of traffic. If I download stuff directly to my phone I have unlimited data - happy days! If I use tether I am limited to 30 gig a month - bummer! I was hoping to use my phone's unlimited data to download an install file, transfer it over to my PC and install from there - but it seems this is not going to be an option. but thanks for the input - and if anyone knows of something I don't, please please please tell me!
