  1. Enhancement idea: add the DCS site itself to the status info at the top. The DCS site is down so I can't log in when I fire up DCS - lo and behold, I get a 502 when I try to navigate to the site itself.
  2. Has anybody taken the torch in terms of one big mod pack for OvGME?
  3. I've gone almost 10 years thinking that if I start DCS without already having started TrackIR, then I need to fully leave the game in order to have TrackIR running before the game is launched to get it to recognize the title, but I recently saw this video that details how, you just need to unlplug-replug your TrackIR and DCS will recognize it - so you don't need to restart DCS after all (I can't tell you how many hours this tip would've saved me if I had known about it sooner...SO MANY missions/MP sessions were launched without realizing that the blue light on the TrackIR wasn't on...) Here's the feature request - my TrackIR is plugged into my computer which is built into a cabinet, so getting to the USB lead to unplug-replug isn't as trivial for me as it is to most (but I can't believe I'm alone). ED - can you add a button to the in-game controls menu (or anywhere really, just in-game) to force-reset the USB connection to the device? Maybe that's not the best way to do it, but I'm just assuming that simulating an unplug-replug would do what's needed to force the connection to work, without having to physically do it. Thank you!
  4. Hey Devs, It seems like it's very common to have issues after an update that are resolvable by deleting the \fxo\ and \metashaders2\ folders from the [user]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta directory. I've also heard of some people getting general framerate boosts by doing this after an update, but it's not necessarily issue-driven that they do so. Would it make sense to have the installer delete these folders automatically when the game is updated, to allow the shader cache to be regenerated? Or perhaps at least prompt the user to do so? Thanks!
  5. Hey, can we not make this a generational thing? The most opinionated people on Hoggit are middle aged guys who've been regulars for years anyway. I know because I've read there and here for about 7 years now, since wayyyyy before Reddit quite took off for the younger crowd, and this Hoggit vs. Forums crap isn't a new thing.
  6. NineLine, Wags, just so you guys know, you can disable Reddit PMs entirely (only approved users can send) if you're receiving shitty messages directly: https://www.reddit.com/prefs/blocked
  7. Honestly my biggest qualm with MP is the ridiculous load times and startup lag.
  8. Can never get sick of this song. Great video.
  9. Teeter

    Thanks

Very glad to hear that you are enjoying it! Clear skies ahead! :pilotfly:
  10. Hey guys, Considering getting rid of this rig and purchasing something more mobile to use for DCS development. Does anybody have any experience with the Surface Book (if possible, specifically the i5/dGPU or i7/dGPU models). Thanks.
  11. Indeed, it is already in the repository. Great work, Rlaxoxo!
  12. Hey guys, Work on the RAZBAM DCS: AT-27 flight model is getting started, and I would like to work in parallel with a few live at-will (and at your convenience) testers. I would like three testers total, to work in a team as well as independently. I've asked two, and only one has accepted so far (the other is undecided). Please, provide some reasons why you would make a great tester! It doesn't seem like it should be a big deal, but I'm really looking to assemble a small team of real know-it-alls as opposed to a reckless squadron of...whatever you want to call it. The two that I've asked are people who I know to be very intelligent, reliable testers. However, they have no evident specialized experience with the AT-27. I need to fill that space. Some desirable experience: T-27 Operation or Maintenance Experience* PT6A-25C (or any variant PT6A) Operation or Maintenance Experience* Light Turboprop Aircraft Flight Experience Portuguese-Speaking And clarification: The AT-27 EFM is pre-Alpha at this time (work has really just begun) I can't promise you any form of compensation at this time You can test at your convenience, but at least 2-4 hours/wk is best You will need to sign an NDA If you don't want to reply to this thread, feel free to PM me with interest or question/clarifications/concerns. ____ Thank you! 13. I just knew this would pop up somewhere before too long!
  14. Meet the Team: 13 Years of RAZBAM Simulations _____________________________________________________________________________________ Old Dog, New Tricks RAZBAM Simulations has been creating top-notch military and civil aircraft simulations since 2003. Until recently, RAZBAM development was focused exclusively on the Microsoft Flight Simulator series, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and Microsoft Flight Simulator X. However, the team has stepped away from developing for the aged Flight Simulator X, and into the split future of flight simulations: Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D (for civil aircraft) and Eagle Dynamics' Digital Combat Simulator (for military aircraft). Among the ranks of RAZBAM Simulations are old dogs and greenhorns alike, collaborating from all over the world to converge on a common goal: bringing the you some of the best modern simulations that the consumer can get their hands on. Though many members of this ten-man team are contractors, there are a few core members who are RAZBAM through and through, and are here to stay. We'd like to take a moment to introduce ourselves. Better late than never, right? _____________________________________________________________________________________ Ron Zambrano, 46 | Prowler111 Owner & 3D Modeler, RAZBAM Simulations Manta, Ecuador Ron Zambrano, who hails from Ecuador, is a bold, aviation-loving, family man. When he's not working, Ron is spending time with his family or the ocean, as water sports (including surfing and octopus hunting) are some of his favorite hobbies. Ron is the creator/owner, and, for a great while, the only developer for RAZBAM Simulations. He's been in this business for a long time, and has practically seen it all. A no-nonsense leader for the team, Ron knows the importance of transparency and honesty with our customers, but he also knows when it's best to keep internal projects steady and quiet. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Larry Zambrano, 54 | Zeus67 Senior Coder, RAZBAM Simulations Manta, Ecuador Larry Zambrano, Ron Zambrano's brother, joined his brother's fully-proven venture in 2009. Being a Computer Systems Engineer, with nearly 30 years of experience doing jobs like network administration and software development, Larry is far from new to the world of coding...the man's nothing short of a modest mastermind, and is the primary contributor to the DCS: M-2000C's systems. A consistent coder (but a terrible pilot...we love him though), Larry is invaluable to the RAZBAM team. Without his software experience and know-how, RAZBAM DCS development would move much slower and would be less surefooted. His laid back, honest approach to software development is a cornerstone of ours...as he reminds us, every so often, "the truth will set us free." _____________________________________________________________________________________ CJ , 33 | CptSmiley Flight Model & Systems Coder, RAZBAM Simulations Maryland, USA Flight Simulation Engineer by day, Flight Simulation Engineer by night...CJ lives and breathes flight simulation...but how couldn't he, with a BS in both Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering, and an MS in Systems Engineering. Grabbing the attention of every DCS developer back in 2012 for his high-fidelity F-16 project (which was largely a pioneering public demonstration of external flight models in DCS), CJ was quickly offered a place at RAZBAM Simulations, primarily to create external flight models for the RAZBAM T-2 Buckeye, M-2000C, AV-8B, and future projects. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Tim Taylor, 46 | Timghetta Owner & 3D Modeler, Metal2Mesh South Florida, USA Tim Taylor (get the Home Improvement jokes out now), an import tuner-loving South Floridian, is the sole proprietor at Metal2Mesh, a company which earned its wings with such famed FSX aircraft as the M2KC and F-15E. Before that, Tim has worked on such projects as the Aerosoft F-16, A-10 and Seahawk/Jayhawk titles. No, he isn't technically a RAZBAM guy, but he's certainly earned a spot among the rest of us. Tim is one of the best modelers and texturers in the business, and we thoroughly enjoy his company and work, as we hope you do as well. He will be with us for a while to come, creating the Harrier cockpit, F-15E, and many, many more. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Hank Essers, 76 | HAE5904 Freelance Texture Artist The Netherlands Hank Essers has been RAZBAM's primary in-house texture artist since 2011. The oldest of the team, at 50 (or 30+20), Hank has done textures for the RAZBAM Harriers, Metroliner, and the (cancelled) T-2 Buckeye. In addition to RAZBAM work, Hank worked with Tim Taylor on the Metal2Mesh M-2000C (for FSX) and on the Aerosoft F-14. For now, Hank's primary work is on the exterior textures for the Tucano, which we hope to show off to you all very soon. Stay tuned! __________________________________________________________________________________ Clarke Wardle, 49 | Mithandra Terrain Team Untied Kingdom By Day Clarke Works in IT and has done for the past 30 years. he have worked in Holland, Saudi Arabia, Australia in the IT industry... 15. Sorry guys, but map development, at this time, isn't on our to-do list. We'll leave that to other developers :)
  16. Not a trainer. Not an unarmed helicopter. Not a transport aircraft. Not a flying thing without a gun. It's a flying thing with 2x 20mm and 4x 7.62mm guns.
  17. Loud and clear, guys. However, for the love of god, it's not a trainer. Don't call it a bad word just because you don't want us to make it ;)
  18. The Pucara is not a training aircraft.
  19. Just a feeler thread to gauge to interest in the IA 58 Pucará. "The FMA IA 58 Pucará (Quechua: Fortress) is an Argentine ground-attack and counter-insurgency (COIN) aircraft manufactured by the Fábrica Militar de Aviones. It is a low-wing twin-turboprop all-metal monoplane with retractable landing gear, capable of operating from unprepared strips when operationally required. The type saw action during the Falklands War and the Sri Lankan Civil War." Simple question, would you like to see the RAZBAM DCS: IA 58 become a reality?
  20. Hey guys, As a first pass, why don't you try deleting your C:/Users/[you]/Saved Games/DCS.openalpha/(input or config/input)/M-2000C folder. You will need to rebind your controls, unfortunately, but that's the game we play with alpha software. Report back with results please!
  21. INS upgrade work begins this week.
  22. Edit: this is for the F-15E and F-117, not the Harriers. My mistake! Thread title pretty much says it, we're in immediate need for three beta testers who will help us with testing these hefty products. Time commitment is about 30-40 hrs/week for about two months as we're into the final stages of developing these airframes. You will be compensated, of course. More details after application, please fill out the short application here and I'll get back to you shortly!
