  1. Hello. I just got back from my vacation. So first thing I tried was deleting my entire saved games folder then running DCS, and it crashed so hard that windows crashed. Then I tried upping my pagefile size to 32gb as you recommended, and I was able to play for an hour hosting a private MP server with a friend. I monitored my CPU temps and it didn't go above 75c, and interestingly I saw DCS was using 22.5gb of RAM...I think that might've been the culprit. Because if DCS was using 22.5gb of RAM, and hypothetically if windows or some other background process was using up the other 9.5gb on my system, that could cause the systemwide crash.
  2. Gotcha. I'll report in a week then. I'll be away from my computer until.
  3. I copied my dcs.openbeta folder, but not the entire saved games folder.
  4. I upgraded recently to a new rig and I'm experiencing CTDs frequently flying in a private server with a friend. Compared to my old machine, I'm noticing more frequent crashes. Old System specs: i7-6700K 32GB DDR4-3000 GTX 1080 Ti New System specs: Ryzen 9 7900X 32GB DDR5-6000 RX 7900XTX dcs.log-20230512-061828.zip dcs.log-20230512-052447.zip
  5. Is there anybody still running this game on a quad core CPU like a 7700K or before? I'm on a 6700K and while it's nice reading hype about huge performance boosts from plenty of other users (good job ED!) I still feel like I need to temper my expectations to maybe about slightly less than half of the median reported performance boost most other users are reporting. I'm also on 32gb of RAM with a 1080 Ti so up until this point CPU has always been the bottleneck.
  6. Hello Mike. Just thought I'd let you know it's not specific to the AIM-7s. I was able to reproduce this bug simply by removing the 3 and 6 pylons then attempting to rearm right after. Simply put the pylons don't re-equip after you remove them symmetrically on the center fuselage pylons for any reason, whether that be from you equipping sparrows or from removing all pylons. This is July 3rd version 2.7.15
  7. I tried the instant action missions for the MiG-21 and dropped down to a whopping 12 fps in free flight and PRMG approach. You read that right. T W E L V E fps with a GTX 1080 Ti :megalol::megalol::megalol:
  8. If this paid update is an upgrade of our Ka-50 from its prototype model into a Ka-50N variant or better, then I'm guaranteed to buy it. Night attack black shark or Ka-50sh with the full glass cockpit would be absolutely amazing.
  9. But if the changes are extensive enough to warrant a charge, wouldn't it follow that our Ka-50 is being upgraded to a higher variant? What I'm hoping is that the changes aren't an inclusion of features and aspects of the Black shark that should've been present from the beginning according to its model.
  10. I suppose the only question I would like answered which would justify the cost or not in my opinion is what this avionics upgrade constitutes exactly. When I paid for the Ka-50, I was expecting a simulation of a particular airframe in a particular era that includes all features and capabilities associated with its real-life counterpart, and the highest level of realism possibly attainable, as that was how it was marketed. I therefore don't feel like I should have to pay for features which should've been present from the very beginning. IF however, this upgrade corresponds to an update in the avionics package in real life, such as overhauling our Ka-50 from a 2000s prototype model to a 2010s era production model, then I will be *more than* happy to financially compensate ED for the update. Basically, my opinion is that a paid avionics upgrade should correlate to a change in block or lot - such as upgrading an F-16 from a block 30 to a block 50.
  11. Will these optimizations have any beneficial effects for players still playing on monitors?
  12. I bought the L-39 because the ZA model is in service with the Syrian Arab Air Force. Just because an aircraft is labeled "trainer" does not mean you cannot simulate combat with it.
  13. Except that's not how that works. The more powerful a radar the less susceptible it is to electronic warfare by definition. The EW suite installed on a HARM would have minimal, if any, effect on any of the S-300's radars and the missile could be engaged at its launch point if need be. The EW package on board the HARM is for self defense purposes and has the effect of decreasing the range at which a SAM with a weak radar could engage it. It would be effective against maybe an Osa radar, but nothing much else. HARMs aren't particularly effective against S-300s, Tors, or BUKs in general. Real life strategy is to swarm them with cruise missiles, decoys, and JASSMs...completely different weapons systems.
  14. I'm actually curious as to what that one step would be? Venturing to take a guess, is it uploading the DTS chip data onto the plane?

  16. Does anyone know how the AMRAAM's lofting code currently work? It seems the missile will randomly decide when it wants to loft correctly and when it does not. I just did a test on a closing Tu-22 at 38000 feet with the AIM-120. The first shot went straight for the target, but the second one fired closer to the target lofted correctly as it should. Tacview file attached for analysis. Is it just random currently? This doesn't seem right. Tacview-20181018-161946-DCS.zip.rar
  17. I've tested the mission editor in the latest open beta build as of this post except this time manually clicking on the static object icon instead of using ctrl+c - ctrl+v. It seems the crash is very specific to ctrl+c - ctrl+v static objects or aircraft on the decks of aircraft carriers. The game works fine without crashing when you're not copying and pasting and manually placing objects down one by one. It crashes when you use copy-paste specifically on objects and aircraft linked to other objects like aircraft carriers. Did not reproduce a crash copying-pasting objects, aircraft, or ground vehicles on the ground.
  18. As of today's update, the game is still crashing when copy-pasting aircraft onto carrier decks. I just tested today's beta build and still produced a crash. dcs.log-20180912-181034.zip
  19. Hello. I'd like to make a follow-up post to update on what I've found experimenting with the Mission Editor and the crashing. I think I've determined that the issue is somewhat related to "binding" static objects to other units, such as aircraft carriers. I've produced a crash placing Su-33s onto the Admiral Kuznetsov, placing F-14s onto both the USS John C. Stennis and USS Carl Vinson, placing both Lot-20 and standard F-18s on both the USS John C. Stennis and USS Carl Vinson, and likewise placing those onto the Kuznetsov as well. On the ground I've found that I can copy-paste and place objects or aircraft as many times as I'd like to my heart's content without producing a crash. Attached are three logs generated with my testing. dcs.log-20180910-101915.zip dcs.log-20180910-101217.zip dcs.log-20180910-100921.zip
  20. I have produced crashes on two different maps, Caucasus and Persian Gulf, by placing down a John C. Stennis Aircraft carrier and copy-pasting F-18s onto the flight deck. I am able to place down an average of 8 hornets onto the flight-deck, and on the one subsequent the game just crashes.
  21. Wow. Now I feel like an idiot. Many thanks though mate. That did the trick!
  22. I'm having an issue where I cannot get a radar lock on an MQ-9 drone. I tested against other targets like the C-17 and F-117 (to see if low radar cross section was the culprit) and both resulted in positive locks. I was able to acquire and lock both a C-17 and a F-117 with the MiG's radar, but for some reason whenever I try to lock the MQ-9 the radar locks for about 0.1 seconds and then unlocks immediately.
  23. I just tried out your suggestion, but unfortunately it did not work. What it did do was force my CPU to run at 4.2 ghz and my GPU to run at its own respective max, but my in-game frames were still sitting around 30-40 fps with the same settings as outlined above. This is leading me to believe that the order of causation is the opposite. DCS isn't running poorly because of a lower clock speed. There is another issue that's causing this to happen in the first place. It's worth noting, I suspect, that as DCS is running there is no icon in the lower windows task bar when I alt+tab out. Is it running as a background application or something, and therefore not being focused on by my PC?
