  1. Ok this is off topic, and this is my last post. I'm an A&P holder that spent the last 17 years specialized in aircraft electrical systems. It's dumb but it annoys me when people use terms incorrectly. Fly by wire is the name for a system where the control inputs are sent as an electrical signal to a flight control computer that Interprets the signal and then moves the flight controls. There is no physical connection between the controls in the cockpit and the hydraulic/ electrical components that actuate the control surfaces. I've actually installed and calibrated the potentiometers you are talking about many times. And that jet used a triple redundant hydraulic flight controls system with a stability augmentation system. It was not Fly By Wire. By your definition the F-5E is Fly By Wire because is has a SAS. To be clear you could theoreticaly have a controls stick that uses potentiometers to DIRECTLY control servo motors that actuate the flight controls surfaces and it still isn't a Fly By Wire system. The presence of the flight control computer that actually "fly" the aircraft is what defines FWB systems. To bring it all back to the OP's problem. It seems he or she is used to the Hornet. A fully fly by wire jet. I say fully because some aircraft use a hybrid system, example the JF-17. The Hornet's flight control computer flys the jet. It's noticeable if your used to older aircraft in DCS. It dose alot of the work for you, and it dampens out alot of ham fisting. The F-15, except for the EX is not FEB. It has a hydro mechanical flight controls system that had a CAS "bolted" on to it. But YOU are flying the F-15, not a flight control computer. You have to use trim, although it's Is aided by the CAS and very refined, you can fly the jet into destruction. YOU have the control authority. If someone has only been flying the Hornet, or Viper, or M2000C then the Strike Egale is going to feel vary weird. That is my entire point.
  2. Me too, but that's a big ask
  3. Once leveled out above 250 I mostly leave it alone. At below 200 I do have to put in nose up trim to keep it level. Thing flys like a dream. I cannot wait till it's a bit more fleshed out systems wise.
  4. I'm not the one who can't fly the plane. So I have no need to post a track of the Mud Hen flying exactly like every real F-15 I've ever seen. Also CAS and fly by wire are totally different. The JSTAR had actuators and force sensors on the yoke. I promise you it's not FBW. The F-15, excluding the EX, uses hydrologic and mechanical linkage to control the jet with a Control Augmentation System to help stabilize the jet. You could take the CAS components out and beat them flat with a hammer, and still fly the F-15, albeit it isn't safe because you could easily fly it into destruction. But you could take off and land. In short YOU are flying an F-15, excluding the EX. The Hornet is Fly By Wire. It is "flown" by a flight control computer. You "tell" the computer what you want the jet to do and the computer moves the flight controls the accomplish it as best it can. That is why you can ham fist it and it's fine. You Are Not Flying a Hornet. If that computer gose out you eject period. You have no control over the flight controls. As for what I'm telling you I'll make it simple. If the nose is pitching up when you release the stick press the trim nose down button until it flys level when you release the stick. Your pitching problem will immediately disappear. As for this being correct or not I'm not sure. If the CAS is supposed to auto trim then Razbam will fix it. If it dosen't auto trim then get used to it.
  5. Seeing mortars fire on their own has always been weird. Can you make them like SAM systems, where they can't fire without one or two infantry near by. Let's say 15 foot radius. If you wanted to get fancy you could have them fire at full rate when two troops are close, and half rate when only one is close. Please consider this suggestion. It's immersion breaking to see tubes firing with gost crew.
  6. So I tested this last night, and I turned that bird every way but loose. Yes you have to keep it trimmed or it tries to climb like a home sick angel. Is that correct, or is the FC3 C model correct, don't know. But in DCS you have to keep it in trim, or you will be fighting the trim. If it's a So I tested this last night, and I turned that bird every way but loose. Yes you have to keep it trimmed or it tries to climb like a home sick angel. Is that correct, or is the FC3 C model correct, don't know. But in DCS you have to keep it in trim, or you will be fighting the trim. If it's a bug then they will fix it. I suspect it isn't, but I'm not an F-15E pilot so I'm not certain. But you do have to remember this is not an FBW jet. It dose have a SAS, or CAS I don't remember what it's called on the Egale. But it won't fly for you. If your used to the Cat it flies like a dream. If your used to the Hornet then it will surprise you. Also if you overspeed you can rip half a wing off. But don't worry it's an F-15 so wing aren't nessasery and you can still land.
  7. That's a sick song. Thanks for sharing it. Yes I would love to give it a try.
  8. I'll try again.
  9. But that might be part of the pitch issue. The Hornet, whatever the state of its FM is, will dampen out a lot of pilot input. This will not. Out of curiosity when your having these issues have you tried just letting go of the stick? See what it dose without imput.
  10. It dosen't have it in external view. I checked on the first flight. Low priority but it needs this sound. Also think you. I always though the turkey father this was odd. The CENC is a much better explanation. It's a distinct Egale sound, and needs to be there at some point.
  11. Unfortunately there is little interest. Sometimes it kinda sucks being an aviation enthusiasts in a simulator becoming more a d more dominate by gamers.
  12. I'm not going to argue but that is not at all true. The Hornet is a full fly by wire jets. All you do in a Hornet is tell the computer what you want the jet to do. The Egale has hydronic flight controls with a SAS system. I definitely have to trim, the same as the Harrier which has the same system and is made by the same company. It's more refined the the Tomcat but it's definitely something. I noticed it immediately because ED's FC3 Egale trims like a fly by wire jets. Look I'm not saying it's the player. And it probably is because I spent so much time with the FC3 PFM C model. But I've don't it all with this thing. First time I took it up I did tail slides, flat spins, hight AOA excursions, forced it to depart controlled flight, alaron roles, hard instantaneous turns, constant rate turns name it. Then I took it back and greased the landing. It just felt like a heavy C model. This is probably the best flying and easiest jet for me to fly in DCS right now. I honestly have no idea what pitch issue you are talking about. Maybe it's my control setup. Maybe it's the way I fly. Maybe it's because I abore the use of curves. But it's possible what you are experiencing is PIO. It won't fly like a Hornet and it shouldn't.
  13. Is that what is being done in the real world? Because they do it every time in the pattern.
  14. Dumb question, but do you trimm it? It's not FBW and dose need trim input.
  15. There is a distinct sound that an F-15 makes when in the pattern. The F-15 guys told me it was the turkey fethers contracting with throttle charges. Like a high pitch ZEEEET sound. That would be such a nice little touch of you F-15E.
  16. The F-15. I've seen them stripped down to just the frame. They are essentially the same jet. I love the history behind the F-15. I spent twenty years around F-15s of all types. I was stationed at the same base as the F-15 depot. As a matter of fact watching the check flights is where I've seen E models fly without tanks. No watching the functional test flight dose no get old.
  17. It's called a wish list. That's what it's for. If there is enough interest they might do it. But again I'm talking about after all the planned stuff is done. I've seen E models fly without the CFTs. For me it's about the F-15 I want to get as close to experiencing it as possible it was always my favorite jet.
  18. Lol, not really. A simpler versions could be done while in EA. Plus they have made great strides with the Viper lately. It's been a rough road. But it's getting there. Same for the Hornet. Yes they've taken forever. But they are still the most complex aircraft ever attempted for DCS until the F-15E. The question is will we buy it? And is it worth the effort to them? Also do they hold all Viper versions under lock and key?
  19. As the tag says when hot starting can we set up the jet to have the Mavericks pre aligned? Same with starting on the runway. Any of the Viper crowd, was that something maintenance would do on a QRF, or Alert bird? I know on my jet we would have the back up and running sometimes, but we didn't really set alert.
  20. You mean like when the whole F-15C fleet was grounded for fuselage cracking. I need to go see if those birds are still just sitting on the ramp. But yes it wouldn't trun like a C model. Hopefully we get a proper C at some point. But I suspect in a full scale war they would be thrown into the fry until air superiority was established. I more want it because it can be done. I've seen them fly without it. The unrestricted takeoff is ridiculous on a naked E model. Again I'm not looking for Air to Air. I don't even know if the fuselage can carry missiles. I want it because an F-15E can fly without the CFTs installed. Low priority for sure. But after it's mostly iornd out it would be a nice to have.
  21. When the Phantom shows up we can do some Iran vs the world stuff. Most of our jets are mid 2000's. Before 2010. What Redfor was really out there then? Unfortunately modern Redfor jets are not possible. The J-10 would be awesome. But it wouldn't be much different from the Jeff which can stand in. On the Russian front maybe the SU-30. But it would still be inferior to the NATO jets. Don't get me wrong if it's ever possible to make I'll pre order an SU-30 and an SU-27. But for now the PFM Flaming Cliffs three jets are what we have for the foreseeable future. The plus side is the Cold War. With what we already have there is a Mig-23 coming. OctopusG had teased an SU-17/22 that looked to be coming along nicely. It's still going to be an up hill fight against the Bluefor cold war birds. Especially if someone makes an early F-15 and or F-16. But it will be more even. In a mid 2000's, or even modern scenario the Bule jets would be fighting an IADS as well as the Red airforce. It's just the way things were in the mid 2000's.
  22. The AV8B has the best training program bar none in DCS. Please do the same for this beauty.

    AI WSO

I know you guys are going your own way with the AI WSO, but I really wish you wouldn't. Hear me out. We the player base are already used to Jester. We are used to the rotery wheel, and what he can to. He would be great in the Mud Hen, although maybe a bit more professional. You guys are going to spend mony and time to reinvent the wheel. You could contract Heatblur to collaborate and put their AI in this thing, and be done with it. You already did an amazing job on this, well worth the wait. It flies awesome, and as it gets bugs sqashed it will be awesome. You are still my favorite studio. It just seems like there are better uses of your talents then doing again what has already been done. Keep up the good work the this bird is definitely going to be one of my favorites.
  24. And that is what is keeping me from VR. Hopefully Raz will get an AI WSO in this thing at some later point. It could really benefit from one.
  25. Definitely, but eventually it will be developed. The main issue could be getting data for it. I've talked to Mud Hen pilots that have flow it in the tank less configuration, and they said it's an absolute rocket ship.
