  1. The Harrier is one of my favorite aircraft and this is of some concern for me. In the worst case scenario that RB leaves the DCS universe, is the AV-8 going to remain being maintained, or are we going to eventually lose the aircraft? Does the promise that the F-15E's development continuing extend to maintenance of other modules by RB?
  2. I got burned with the Hawk, if that happens a *second* time on a far larger scale (I've bought all of RB's modules) I'm not going to roll the dice anymore. Is there confirmation that if RB runs off, that we aren't going to be stuck with unusable products as with the Hawk incident? I think that confirmation one way or another would be of some value at this point.
  3. The Gaza Strip in real life has few trees, while in the Sinai map it's full of them. I suspect that alot of those trees are probably supposed to be bushes/crops in farmland, but were made into trees by whatever system populated much of the flora that is on the map. Again, love the map, but I gotta mention that one minor problem.
  4. I love the map and I know this is a nitpick, but I'm going to pick at it anyway. It would be nice if the Maadi factory was included as it's somewhat famous due to it's production of much if not all of Egypt's small arms and it would be an obvious strike target in any campaign that brings you to Cairo. This is the area in wikimapia, and in the Sinai map it's a residential area. Now, in the Sinai map we do have the waterworks just to the north-west of there. So the lack of the factory next to it might just be an oversight. As an added benefit to adding the factory there is that you would also reduce the amount of map objects needing to be populated as the factory area in reality seems to be quite sparse in areas.
  5. Does that mean that RAF Akrotiri will be included as an airbase, even as something that is less than high detail?
  6. Thank you, my sleep deprived mind didn't realize it was that simple!
  7. Sorry to necro this, but I seem to be blind. Where is the "select" button?
  8. The KS-19 also seems to have an issue at night, even with the Firecan attached to it. Might be a general bug.
  9. I've had the same while flying NOE in the Hornet. Seems to be reliably repeatable for me too.
  10. I wonder how viable it would be to include the airstrip at Goose Green?
  11. Thanks for the replies guys, they have helped. I seem to be getting more of a hang for it.
  12. So, I've been trying Case 3 landings and an issue that I have encountered is that I am generally terrible at them. I'm able to mostly line things up, but when I get within about a mile of the carrier I notice that I'm port of where I need to be for the landing. Another problem that I have is that when I get within a few miles I find that I'm chasing the indicator lines despite being lined up for the rest of the glide slope before that. Does anyone have any pointers to get me sorted out with these issues?
  13. Same here, the Apache is indeed best in VR. Throw in co-op and it's certainly a go to aircraft and I tend to be a single seat fixed wing guy.
  14. Using the gun with the helmet mounted sight gave me a massive grin. It's a fun aircraft, co-op or not.
  15. In most helicopters, the hard part for me is regulating the collective when transitioning from forward flight to hovering. I actually find the Apache to be easier due to the altitude change indicator off to the right on the helmet mounted display. What I tend to do is as I'm coming in to land, I monitor that indicator tape and try to keep the sink rate within the scale, close to the middle if possible to avoid damage or VRS. Something to keep in mind, a small bit of collective movement can get you a long way when you are landing. Big changes aren't a good idea. Make a small change, see what that does, and then rinse and repeat until you are on the ground.
  16. SF also cheated somewhat. The map wasn't 1 to 1, it was reduced in size. As I recall it was 50% or 25% the size of the area in reality. That's not to knock SF, it was a very good game and it required some analysis to come to that realization, but that was what they did to manage to do it.
  17. It's an Air Force jet, I need both kidneys to process the Jerimiah Weed.
  18. It would be nice (TM) if the base resources wouldn't get corrupted each time that there is an update. For people that make missions it is seriously annoying to have to fix base resources in missions that limit resources each time that there is an update. I know that this is a bit of an odd wishlist request, but having new weapons get added into DCS smoothly without corrupting parts of already established missions would put me over the moon.
  19. I would love it if it was so. I don't think I'd use any other flattop than the Forrestal.
  20. Nice work Rocketman! @Minsky With the SA-6 I wonder if that is a result of kinematic considerations? If an aircraft is flying towards a SAM site the SAM can engage at further ranges than the on paper max range due to the target's closure rate. As regards the SA-5 I suspect the limiting factor is the range of the search radar.
  21. The things that are on my "shut up and take my money" list are A-1 F-100 A-6 A-7 F-4 Su-24 F-111 Vietnam map Kuwait map (especially if it includes Kharg Island) Korea map Yugoslavia map Afghanistan map Libya map
  22. I for one second the request for the "ginsu bomb." We'll never get it, I believe it is pretty much a drone only weapon or so it seems, but it would be a cool to have weapon.
  23. Civilian flights would be a wonderful thing to have to force the player to actually have to positively ID a contact and therefore give missions a realistic level of complication and risk for the player.
