I'm with ya martini, while taxiing it would warp immediately in front of the cockpit and also prop disks would get warped too.

Major important scientific discovery this weekend. I turned off VR and was getting 155 fps in the F-15E at an airbase I was getting VR fps of terrible sub-10s. I knew something was wrong. I started changing settings one at a time in SteamVR (I use an Index) - after turning off the Motion Smoothing option, my framerate shot up to 40+. I guess my particular setup just doesn't like having to synthesize frames or whatever SteamVR said the motion smoothing option does. Now I can play all aircraft and all airfields. I had had the motion smoothing option turned on since I got the VR headset in the first place. Boy, do I feel silly. Also, the Apache now works with 40+ fps in the DCS: MAD campaign I was having single digit fps in. Hope my discovery can help someone.
  3. I found something that 60% percent of the time that works every time (made with bits of real panther) is if I pause the game and then hit Ctrl-Alt-Del, go into task manager, click once on another process just to highlight it and then click on DCS.exe just to highlight it and then I close out Task manager and unpause the game - most times I get the framerate restored. This is with the MT version after I foolishly opened the F10 map.

I tried the Apache in Multithread and I get unplayable framerates, 20 max inside the cockpit. All other aircraft I get 30-45 (in VR.) System details are ASUS Prime Z270, i7-8086K running at 5 GHz, DDR4-3467 64GB, Aorus Extreme RTX 2080Ti 11 GB (system built in 2018), and running through Valve Index. Maybe it's time for me to build a new system? When the Apache first came out, it was quite smooth and flyable but now something has happened.
  5. Agreed. This is the best campaign I have ever played, this and the MiG-19 Crime and Punishment campaign. The radio clips are absolutely brilliant and really put me back in 1989, which was an incredible year. Batman the movie came out, the Game Boy, big hair metal was at its height... I credit this campaign with teaching me Case I and III recoveries which I still use with the Hornet module.
  6. Glad I saw this thread while researching. I was originally planning a socket 2066 build with an i7-7740k but it's true, it looks like only 16 lanes of PCI express are there and it's only dual channel DDR4 memory on there. Was going to use the ASUS X299 Prime deluxe but it looks like 1151 may be a better bet for performance? I was going to go with a 1080Ti and a Samsung 860 SSD for operating system and also a separate SSD for putting DCS on. I want to max this build out, just build a real ripper of a system that would be pretty future proof, I have an AMD Phenom II x6 1100T and 16 G of ram with a GTX 970 right now and it runs DCS 2.5 fairly well but my aim is to build something that can run super smooth with no lags. Any suggestions are welcome, I'm now considering going to socket 1151.
  7. Added the files to the archives and that did the trick 100 percent. Excellent work, Rudel!
  8. Belay my last, I was using WinRar version 4.0, updated to 5.5 and all good. Thanks Rudel!
  9. It says "zipped file is invalid"...
  10. I had the same problem, my external lights on my beloved Balalaika are now white cubes...
  11. Oh man I have always loved the Draken! It will be immediately purchased if a flyable version gets released.
  12. Tacker for investigating this. I thought I was doing something wrong or just downright flummig.:joystick:
  13. The only thing that would make my all-time favorite sim ride better is a port-over into FSX or P3D. I'd be the first one to buy it, no matter what the cost. TAKE MY MONEY, LN!
