  1. Thank you for the conformation ,as said before must have been placebo effect from the air speed dial being changed.
  2. The dora to me feels like it has lost 10% of its full power.
  3. Since the latest patch it feels like the dora has lost 10 or 15% power ,I notice this on take off and just after.
  4. I tested this awhile back and found out that once you adjust them they will not go back to auto and you have to adjust them through out the flight. If you choose not to touch them then you will have to manage the engine more and you want be able to push the motor very hard. Bottom line is ,if you want to get the most out of the motor you will be using manual radiator flaps. P.S When taxing to runway set rad flaps closed ,once they are fully closed ,open them up for around 12 to 15 seconds for best optimum preformence at take off. Just my 2 cents as I am no expert in anyway;)
  5. Funny thing is ,I have no trouble taking off.I really enjoy taking off and I love the the part just before I leave the ground when I give it right rudder and right aileron to compensate for the drop on the left wing, unless you do a fast flat take off and it takes off like an A10. My tips for take off. 1-Line up perfect on center line, set trim to the middle position ,flaps in take off. 2-Hold wheel brakes and throttle up to 2500rpm. 3-release wheel brake and as soon as you are rolling straight and true, pull the stick back to lock wheel. 4-gradually increase throttle and compensate with a little right wheel brake. 5-slam the throttle to maximum -release steering lock and switch to left rudder, then back to right rudder for lift off and a little right aileron depending on take off speed. Well all that seems complex but that's how I do it and as I have said before ,everyone will have there own way of taking off in the dora. Landing for me is not a problem but I can not do them perfect every time and I mostly do combat type landings. My biggest problem is I flair to high and get a bounce or 3,Just need more practice ;)
  6. Wow!Nice playing man ,good to see some shredding pilots here.Gilbert stuff is always hard. I used to listen to PG alot even got one of my guitars signed by PG . Marty freidman, jason becker and cacophony is my fav band for shred. If you have not heard them check them out. Keep up the good work .http://forums.eagle.ru/images/icons/icon14.gif
  7. Great to see some active noodlers on the forum;) Here is one of me doing some stevie wonder- I have some other crap on the channel ,I don't really play guitar anymore so when I record ,its pretty sloppy and rushed . I have a tele select, deluxe strat and a YJM strat couple Ibenez and way too many amps. my last project in the making-
  8. I have had one for a month and it is very good for DCS. FPS is never a problem.Best thing I got with my new system is water cooling.
  9. This is so true. exactly how I feel. If it was that easy, I would not fly it.
  10. For me there is two ways of flying the dora 1st way is adjusting Rads manually ,but then I will have to adjust them for the whole flight or 2nd don't touch them at all during the whole flight. My question is, what then is the purpose of having manual control at all? If you take damage the engine can over heat so you can crank those suckers up or if you use a lot of boost it can help to notch it up a little. I'am no expert though.
  11. I dont really struggle with landing ,its just getting them perfected. That dead stick landing was part luck(first flight) part skill as I have always loved dead stck landings. It took me around 10min to fry that engine ,I think it died fast because of the amount of climbing I was doing,I haven not cooked one since.
  12. For me taking off in the dora is not a problem after a few weeks of smoothing things out.I think everyone one will have there own approach to T\O as they learn the plane. I struggled more with landing and If I don't focus enough for that delicate touch down ,I end up a burnt mess or loose a wheel or wing. Got to luv the Dora
  13. The video will be up now ,just had a drama with settings.my guess is that the seized engine stopped it and the dora has no prop feather so I guess the prop stalled up with the motor.
  14. I can't see much wrong in your vid but you seem rough with the controls. If your stick is doing odd things it probly means you have another control plugged in that is conflicting with ya stick. Not sure how new you are to DCS but make sure you go to DCS options, controls and set ya trim controls there and everything else. If you have no space left on ya stick for trimming just put them on ya key board arrows to make sure they work.
  15. Haha thank you Sir. Funny how my landing reminds me of The real Ernst deadstick landing ,maybe not as classy as him ;)
  16. This is my first attempt landing the dora and ended up a deadstick.
  17. Just like hunting, look for movement.
  18. Yes I tested what you said and I agree 15sec is spot on.
  19. perhaps risk of losing sync with the engine? Interesting ,That gives me somthing new to search in google.
  20. Well when I watch Matt waggs taxi take off lesson he says to open radiator pressing Ralt+A at warm up,so he is over riding it before he even takes off. Ralt +A is an invalid command FYI.I do a complete warm up most time's I fly unless I am in a hurry and the Temp's are just fine so I don't know what Matt wag's is trying to achieve here. Anyway it's confusing .Maybe we need a real luftwufer to sort this out. P.S Anyone feel free to copy and paiste the last few Radiator comments and start a new thread.
  21. One thing I never do is use full throttle for too long, even with out MW50. I don't push here over 30 for too long maybe ten min at most.If I use MW50 it will be in very small amounts and if she gets a little hot I will cut engine back to 30 or 28.This is all using auto Rad's.
  22. Thanks for the reply SiTh.I thought that was case and as I am pretty smooth on the throttle is the reason why I am not blowing the engine. But when I first flew the dora and tried to manage manual Rad's I was constantly getting her to hot or to cold and damaging the engine that way. Now what I really want to find out is,if I adjust the Rad's manually in flight ,how do I make it go back to auto mode or does auto mode kick in even after manual adjustment. I may have to try test this out tonight.
  23. I post this already but thought I should re-post here hopping some one could shed some light on my Radiator confusion. I think the rads are automatic. When I first got the dora I used rads manually. Now I don't adjust them at all because I have noticed they open and close by them self's.I have not blown a motor yet! my oil temp does get a little high but all with in limits, coolant seems always fine. So I have googled and googled but can not get any info at all on the Rads being auto or manual ,the DCS manual dose not help either.

  25. I had same problem till I updated Visual C++64bit. some one here might post a link to it.
