  1. I'd be happy if ED just fine tuned it a little so it is balanced at cruise. 480km/h at max continuous power at sealevel. At the moment it is not balanced and In real life the guy who delivered it to the front would have told the mechanics that it was a little off and to give it a little right aileron trim. I mean as if the German pilots would just keep flying around in an unbalanced plane when they could just have it adjusted in 5 mins when they landed after discovering the problem. That's what the trim tabs are for.
  2. As a workaround for now I calibrated my flight stick a little off centre. I held it to the left and zeroed it, so it would push to the right a little hands free. Has exactly the same effect as the aileron trim tabs. This works great and the plane is now balanced hands free at cruise of 470km/h at 2300rpm in level flight at 5000m. But it also feels better balanced through wide speed range either aside of cruise speed...
  3. The more I test this, The more I think it is not quite right. At any given stabilizer setting I can throttle back till I find the "balance point" where the forces harmonize and the ship flys straight, hands free. But it is always at a power setting that cannot sustain level flight. The closest I can get it flying at 350km/h at 500m at 1800rpm wit h1m/s sink rate. Has anyone figured this out? If we could only adjust the trim tabs we could fix this so easily but seeing that we can't touch them it is a terrible shame to fly around holding the stick unnecessarily. Quite frustrating really.
  4. Yep seems to balance out at a level cruise of about 470km/h and 2400rpm. Which makes sense in the real world but in the sim we don't cruise in level flight for long. I fly a mission where I take off and do a fast climb at about 350km/h to 7000m. If there was a ground adjustable trim tab slider in the plane set up options I would move it to a lower speed and trim for fast climb over level cruise. CLOD bf109s' are trimmed for the fast climb at full power. So we can take off, trim horizontal stab for 300km/h climb and she balances out hands free. It's much more enjoyable to fly like that.
  5. Took me about 5 or 6 goes to get it. I kept trying to lift the tail off early, and roll on the main wheels before lift off but every time lost control of the rudder... Once I started to hold the stick back to lock the tail wheel till just before lift off, it was fine. Also I don't use full power. More like 2700 rpm. 3000rpm at the most
  6. Hi I just bought the Fw190 on steam. Payment went through and there is a licence number I can view through steam DCS DLC page but when I start the game I there no FW190. Only the option to "buy" it
  7. Now that I think about it the sabre flaps are located on the inboard section of the swept wings so they are quite far forward in relation to the centre of pressure of the wings. The inner most section the flaps may even be in front of the centre of pressure. If the centre of gravity is close to the centre of pressure, and some portion of the flaps is location in front of both, it would make sense for the pitch up with flaps down. I think...
  8. We need human opponents . There is no way around it. To do it right we need a flyable Mig15bis. The AI doesn't know its planes strengths vs your planes weaknesses. I have played many missions now and the AI always dives down to the deck and trys to turn fight me. As long as I keep my speed above .7 mach I win every time till i run out of ammo. We really need a human opponent to see what the mig can really do.
  9. I had a great fight just now. I zoom climbed up to 45 kft and then dived on 4 Migs that were flying at 30 kft. As I was just about to pull onto one Migs six I went super sonic and lost control of my plane. Man I was so excited to try and get a super sonic kill in the sabre my heart was pounding, but I just couldn't hang onto it. I really hope DCS brings out a Mig15bis . Multiplayer F-86f Sabre vs Mig15bis would be just about he ultimate air combat sim.
  10. I've been playing for hours and hours and the Sabre is definitely my favourite DCS plane ! Are you guys fighting up high? My AI enemy keep diving to the deck and trying to turn fight me. The sabre seems to beat the mig15 pretty easy on the deck. I have read about he Mig15 climbing away and the Sabre being unable to follow him up to 45 or 50kft but in all my fights the AI dives to the deck and trys to tuen fight me.. Anyway on the deck you can win every time pretty easy ... Just don't let your speed drop below .7 mach. A gentle turn at that speed will get round on him slowly and when he breaks off and trys to climb away you got the E to catch him in the climb shoot him down. Once you know how, its a bit too easy to be honest... The Mig15 sure is a beautiful target, zooming in front of his vapour trail with the swept wings and high tail... Just needs some glinting in the sun.
  11. Well I'm glad the MIG15bis can out climb the F-86F. When I saw they were making the "F"Sabre version I was worried the sabre would be able to out climb, out dive, out turn and out run the MIG. I love the idea of two planes equally matched with one better in the vertical and the other better in the horizontal. Makes for a good close and the best pilot can win. I'm in Australia and we write dates day/month/year. So I got up this morning excited to buy the steam version available on the 8.9.14. and I've been wondering all day why it isn't unlocking yet... I just realised 8.9.14 means 9.8.14. DAM gotta wait till tomorrow. Oh the humanity!
  12. When I log on to steam I can see at a glance if any of my friends who have DCS games are playing them and join their multiplayer game by double clicking their name. It's very easy to get multiplayer games using steam
