  1. My first MiG-21 kill on the 104th. Saw an F-15 contact on radar, didn't see it visually, so I centered it on radar got the ready to fire tone, and naturally..
  2. The MiG is actually quite forgiving of an aircraft from my experience. You get quite a feeling of a very good instantaneous turn rate, but as you continue, it eases up and signals the time to start loosening up on the stick for most maneuvers. So with that said, compared to the more modern fighters, it's a flying brick rocket with so little surface area on the delta wings. Even so, with the lack of response at lower speeds, you get the instinct of pulling hard, and the 21's control surfaces fight back. The 21 never seems to succumb to high G Forces that are so prevalent on the 4th Gen FC3 aircraft. So all in all, it's quite a controllable aircraft, but it certainly isn't going to turn with the best. Also, use the stupid fast acceleration and deceleration to your advantage in all scenarios, the only thing that even rivals it is the MiG-23. Anyways, my basic set of advice is to loosen up with the stick, remember that you'll get minimal return in pushing hard on the control surfaces, and that the throttle is your savior when it comes to getting more control. When coming in to land, I come in at a ridiculously low AGL, perhaps 75m, although there are probably much more efficient ways to conserve speed at higher altitudes, but nonetheless keep it around 370 once you lower your throttle to the landing preset, flaps extended at the short range radar array, and around 5 degrees pitch up as you approach what I perceive to be around 10m, if you flare too high or early, either your gear won't retract later from the aforementioned ground effect, or you'll get the famous bouncing effect that even larger aircraft tend to experience, and if feels off, just add that little burst of throttle and hopefully all goes well. (Keep in mind I have minimal sim experience with the larger commercial aircraft you fly, and while I certainly don't have any with real life aircraft, hence my likely outlandish methods of getting the 21 on the ground, anything to help, I guess) X-Alt
  3. Went from a 7970GHz to a 290, and I didn't see a huge increase either, I guess DCS is more CPU bound than anything else, but the game is quite playable for me.
  4. I nearly got myself a kill on the 104th, flying as low as is humanly possible, spot a big source of black smoke, pull up, begging my R-60M to launch on an unsuspecting 15, and of course his potential wingman bags me with a Slammer. Leatherneck pls buff
  5. Step 1: Get Money Step 2: Pay Bills Step 3: Buy modules Step 4: Get good Step 5: Pretend Step 4 never happened Step 6: Profit, I guess
  6. It appears that I am running the latest version (1.2.10), how can I check the server's version. My friends with .10 can connect fine.
  7. Does not seem to work, do any of the servers there have a public banlist or something, it only seems to be happening on those two servers (one of which I never played on)?
  8. On servers such as 104th Phoenix and a 51, as soon as I load ground objects and first see the map screen, I get a connection interrupted message, trying to connect to another server results in a CTD and I am not aware of any server bans. Could my installed mods be a possible cause? Network speed is set to LAN by the way.

  10. Thanks for the clarification, I made new profiles for all my aircraft to avoid this issue. None of the throttles start@100% anymore.
  11. Apparently my joystick Z axis was still mapped to my throttle (I loaded a really old Su-25T profile on my A-10A to start it off) and it stopped me from being able to turn the engines on.
  12. It appears that there is no fuel flow, to the engines, and only the the APU is on presumably because my throttle is @100% (for some odd reason, all my planes' throttles start at that) but cannot be adjusted downward when the engines are off? Is there any way to stop the game from defaulting to 100% throttle when I first load in the plane?
  13. On any other aircraft, I can start my engines simply by pushing my throttle down to 0%, and pressing Right Shift and Home. On the A-10A, I can hear the engines spooling up but my throttle stays locked in the off position, even though the keys are properly binded to it? It seems that Right Shift + End does not stop the engine sound also. Regards, Alt
