I am writing this without looking at any of the content above. Some of the charts I have to see. I know that all WW2 aircraft were upgraded over the span of years, but in 1945, 10 corsairs were built that had a Double Wasp engine that was supercharged and had HP much higher then any other Corsair. 2 crashed and some were sent to museums, but many were used for racing after the War, and could reach 500 MPH in level flight ( not sure what altitude, but it was high up where bombers are flying ). I think one of those could have beaten the Nazi Jets, never mind a prop plane. Hope the corsair has the option of a 4 bladed prop, as it is faster. Clear Skies Mike

I do not think I ever had smoke. Engine Exhaust port flames I have on all Prop planes. I purchased the Campaign ( debden eagles ) because I saw it had flames, as it was made over 6 years ago. Ever sense, Ive had flames through the past dcs updates with no problems. Changing engine pitch makes the colors change and Purple flames are the BEST !!!! I had others criticize Me saying DCS brought flames back 3 updates ago. Someone reported me and You tube would not allow me to upload anything for several months and I'm paying for Premium. I hope You get them back. all jets and planes have sound, right ?

I have been flying only the P51D-30 (until the F4U becomes available) and the Echo19 sounds were really great ! Now that the 2.9 release is on My PC without the echo19, the Mustang sounds just as good now ! Congrats to ED I have a really great 7.1 surround system with bose speakers and My Asus sound card is old but works great. Reflected mentioned not to mess up DCS with Mods except sound modes, as it messes up Campaign integrity. In keeping with the thread, no one else here mentioned anything about hearing the sound of 40's music playing unless I change manifold pressure to below 20. Clear Skies Mike

Been using it for 5 years at least. Newest version gave me problems so I use 1. 1.0.1042 build 7.1 I'm just trying right now to do a repair and it is not working as the build select area does not see the way to the program even though I have a green on folder path and saved games areas.

dcs.log.olddcs.log hope this helps, I have lots of logs as I had two SSD drives with mirrored copies and they both do not work now. I forgot to mention that I never turned off my firewalls until just now. Repair can only occur with admin Cmd Prompt I guess ?

I am sorry I messed up and wrote MB when I meant I get between 700-800 Kbps DCS Cust Svc advised Me to turn off my pc protection and use repair. I tried that on my own a week ago. I went to the library and I thought they had 1 gig per sec but they only have 24MbPS and a 2 hour max time window for sharing the libraries pc's. Because DCS makes you DL the 2.9 OB with one or both maps, it takes more time to DL then the library allows. I thought about buying a used laptop and finding a 1 Gig wifi area but I hope something can happen soon. Thanks for all the help Guys !

Hi Max, I have used it for years, but the latest update changed so many things around it will not work for Me now. I just totally formatted a 2tb drive and it still said not enough room to put dcs on it. I know there must be lots of people like me who live in the sticks that have slow internet. If only someone sold large updates on dvd on ebay or ED itself, I would gladly pay 10-15 bucks for it. I could upload screen captures of 3 days worth of failed D/L's over and over. I have spent over a grand on mods/terrains, never mind 7K on my PC. Having it not work really is a shame.

No silverdevil, I do not use bitlocker. I need to enable secure boot. After waiting: the last update made it and I was able to fly for awhile. So then I decided to update the other ssd version copy and paste and now both are having problems with many missing dll files. Happy Halloween to all

I am now on my 6th or 7th attempt. I have had no use of either ssd drive open beta versions. only another 20 hours to go and that is the repair. just the 9 maps are 362.9 gigs and then every jet and plane and You need over 2TB with missions and Track's I ordered a microsoft DVD "win 11 Pro" to update my win10 pro and I cannot properly change my security boot option so microsoft refuses the update.

Has the ability to restart a download from where You last stopped, now gone from 2.9 DCSW ? I am on my 3rd attempt and only after 2 days did it just give Me a ETA of 20+ hours to go. Tomorrow the town I live in is having a planned outage and My DCS D/L will not be finished yet. I have a 2nd SSD that has the updated version to 2.9, with all 9 maps (362.9GB) but I have to leave off 4 maps to have space to do the update to 2.9 I was not able to just copy and paste and have it update any faster. This thread is old but history is forever... Just the 9 maps I have installed on a 1TB SSD are 362.9 GigaBytes. now with every plane and jet and other things, 2 gb SSD's are not going to be large enough. My 1988 Amiga 500 had the port on the left side for additional Ram, and was also a one meg hard drive. Grand Central Station in NYC and they told Me I would NEVER need more then that one meg of extra HD space. Too bad they didn't have a 44 year warranty on upgrades...

I was not aware that DLSS isn't working now and in the recent past 2.8 Most maps give me 109 FPS with 5760 x 1080 Nvidia Surround.

I had written ED about lack of exhaust port flames in what I thought was only the last 2.7. and 2.8 updates,and they said they would get back to Me. That did not happen yet. The videos I can find on youtube that show the flames were from 5 to 7 years ago. I did see a Spitfire that was much sooner. Many treat DCS with wanting it to be as realistic as possible, and some videos never show the inside of the warbirds. So this post is from May of 21 and I only just found it because I did a differently worded search and now that 2.8.8 is out, I would like to have My F4 key show some nice video of flames. Night fighters had special plates placed in front of exhaust ports so oncoming enemy planes would not see the flames, as a V12 or turbo charged system is cooking... Clear Skies and I sure am looking forward to the F4U Corsair coming Our way soon. Be nice to have a 4n/5n Night Fighter version.

I am not sure when DCS stopped having flames come out of the engine exhaust ports, but I have seen videos on Youtube that show when they all did. Top Mustang shows flames and its 11 years old. Bottom video shows flames at 4:52 I found newer ones for the spitfire.

11 years ago we had flames coming out of exhaust ports on our piston engines. DCS is the Best.

I bought a 12900K that I watercool and let the ROG MB bios OC itself 71% and flying a P51D-30 in Normandy 2.0, I get high 80 fps with a evga 2080Ti. I am not able to install win 11 because of a secure boot problem. I just bought three new gaming monitors and have to wait to get a 1 TB SSD to update to Win 11 and just a few apps I like. "Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. Only 42 pages ? Warbirds, and especially the fastest production WWII Prop driven one that did 400 in level flight should have so many more following it !!! After the 2023 DCS world intro, We knew certain planes and jets would be coming out, show more support please !!!

I am waiting on the Corsair, but am flying only the Mustang and I noticed it has no exhaust flames now. In WWII, night fighters had special covers to hide the front view of bright blue flames coming out of that beautiful Double Wasp !

Every time I do a update, I lose everything, all the hours and medals earned. is there a way to recover that ?? Thanks and Clear Skies Mike _________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks to Juice from the Air Warfare Group, I learned that I was losing everything because every time I updated My Nvidia drivers I was not allowing it to just update, I went in and changed settings here and there. Thanks to Juice, that problem is gone.

Been practicing landing tail draggers for over 5 years now in DCS. I still bounce, but never die anymore, I just wreck the prop or a Arm & wheel. I was lucky to find someone kind who had Me visit His private server and while He sat in a plane behind Me, He watched My takeoff and told Me 5 percent right rudder !! I have not taken off in the Dora in a long time, but I made it into the air with no AI help stuff, and it was fun to fly. I have both the 51 and 47 ( heck, I have all the WWII planes available ) and end up using the 51 because of speed. 8 50 cal's are better then 6 when inside an iron tub. try taking a 47 down low with 2 i-6 Russian Planes. Even on ROOKIE setting the 2 of them gang up on You !!! Newest version of OB has lowered my FPS by half of what I was getting with 32235 version. Lots of DCS Crashes ( its ok, its OB and I send em my reports ) i912900K (71 percent OC and water cooled) attached to evga rtx 2080Ti Black Edition that I no longer need to OC using X1 software. ROG Strix Z690-E 5200 speed Corsair ram 64gigs what a difference with new clouds and it keeps getting better and better ! Now if only the F4U Corsair would make its presence asap... Clear Skies Mike

Because of the new lighting and other new features, I was not able to update from 32235 to 33006 and I figured it was because all of the planes, ships, tanks and Maps needed all new features. I ended up installing the new version and now am spending 3 days just downloading maps and jets and planes and I could not just copy and paste older 32235 mods and have them still work.
