  1. I am having a lot of problem setting this up. I can only look left or right about 75 degrees and cant look in and out to see gages. The learning curve, even after reading the manual, is frustrating to me. Im in need of help, I downloaded a few dcs a10c profiles and mostly fly the mustang. I have off centered the trackir5 to the left on my screen to help compensate for the pro clip on my headphone set. Ive gone on the forums for Naturalpoint to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. Mike
  2. thank You very much for saving me. I spent over 300 just on my home CPU and dont trust bringing it here for fear of it being stolen or a fire happening as the building I live in has tons of people and is very old. I appreciate your help VERY much. I miss flying so much I have an old laptop and was on CL looking for used desktops.
  3. I am working in New York and not home and do not have my home computer with me in new york. I really miss playing DCS, and would like to know if this used PC will run it ok ???? Thanks for your help with this,,,,,,,,,,, 8GB memory and 1TB Hard Drive, HP USB keyboard, HP optical mouse AMD Quad-Core A6-3650 Accelerated Processor Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n , Super multi DVD Burner AMD Radeon Graphics AMD 6530D integrated graphics Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit, Windows Live Essentials 2011, Office 2010 He wants 300 cash and I want to FLY Please answer to ctguy1955@yahoo.com as I need to know ASAP
  4. I took a job in Malta New York and have been away from my computer for a month. The first thing I did when I sat at my pc was to buy the SaberJet on sale and messed around with it for a half hour or so. I hope that eventually they do a tutorial on how to set up for take off like they did for the P-51. I woke up this morning and flew the saber again and just loved the feeling of speed and then decided to try out my P-51 and I took off and flew it great !!! Landing I need more practice, as I bent a wheel upon landing, but it felt so good to be able to take off like a pro as I think I spent 5 hours learning how to take off without flipping over and crashing. Guess its like riding a bicycle, once you know how, it comes back easy. I was going to bring my pc to my hotel room upon going back to NY, but decided the risk of it being stolen or a fire was not worth it. I can tell you how much I missed flying as before I left, I only had 10 hours of learning time and had bought a new madcatz hotas X52 and was still learning. I have never enjoyed the thrill of going on multiplayer and flying missions with others but look forward to doing so someday, when I leave NY to come back to CT. Not much work available here and Global Foundries has work for years to come. Im going to retire in two more years and I need the pension credits to have my 30 years. Clear Skies my Brothers and I miss you all very much. Mike
  5. I watched "Redtails" for the third time last night, but this time I had different thoughts in mind, because of now being involved with DCS and loving to fly my P-51D I watched the way they landed and took off and the way they cornered and just enjoyed the movie on a very different level.
  6. Thank You all for answering my questions. The P-51 manual sure is very informative.
  7. P-51D Graphical User Interface Manual Why do all of the other planes seem to have a GUI manual, but not the P51D ????
  8. SO THAT is what I was doing wrong !!! Pulling ALL the way back to lock the tail wheel when I only needed a little bit. I had someone tell me to use the assistant and I did not know what they meant, but the Shift enter ( or Control Enter ) puts up a little window in my far left screen ( I use three screens ) and I can tell how much pressure I am pulling back .........and I leave the throttle at 30 manifold pressure until Im half way down the runway, and then I give it more throttle until Im up to around 45 pressure and then just wait to go airborne and no more take off problems. I use to spin over to the left and crash 9 out of 10 tries !!! Thank You !!
  9. Thank You to all of the people who did respond back to me. I am going totally nuts as I have run into so many situations and cant get the best of both worlds. Either I start up the flight sim and my new X52 allows me to use the lower POV tophat to look around the cockpit and when I take off I do everything nice and slow but still turn to the left and crash. I am doing everything Im suppose to and not holding back on the stick over 100mph and no matter what, I crash. OR I download some profiles I have found online, and my POV hat is setup for just the weapons sighting and I cant look around the cockpit but the same pov in other instances will only allow me to use it in outside the plane mode. When I use the other profiles where I cant use my POV to look around, I can take off every time no problem. The Saitek Forum is not allowing any new registrations and so there is only so many places I can get help. I have now had DCS for about 9 days and my new X52 for 3 or 4 days and I have tried to program the pov switch to work with the downloaded profiles that allow me to take off ok, and nothing works. You have no idea how frustrating it is to spend so much time and not be able to get ahead. I finally uninstalled the X52 software and just hope I can use the DCS world control configure to help me. Once I get up, Im doing pretty well with looping and turning and enjoy my flight time, but I wish I could just put my whole system back to stock config as then I have my POV switch to work. Trying to use the right control shift and keypad numbers to start up the plane is a pain ************************* EDIT ***************************** I am happy to report that I was able to take the good things from one and put it in another profile once I got rid of the saitek software it seems to be working now. I have my POV switch setup and I have been able to take off 3 out of 5 times now and I landed once really nice too !! ( I saved that trk for prosperity ). I even was so bold as to go on a online server and take off and fly around but on return I took a turn too sharp when landing and crashed. I think the saitek software was really messing me up and now Im much happier and just need tons of practice. Thank You everyone !!!! Clear Skies !!!
  10. I bought a new X-52 hotas and have not configured it yet, but switching from game mode to sim mode gave me quite the shock. I can fly ok, have not done a loop, but I am having problems with taking off and landing. Good Luck to ya !!!
  11. many of the above links do not work anymore..... The JoyIDS Utility I did find online was for win xp, but many of the links are no longer working.
  12. Why does the P-51 not have a Graphical User Interface download? I looked in the download section for a Graphical User Interface guide for the P-51 and did not see one. I was hoping to read more about how to adjust my rudder for my twist handle new X52 joystick. I went to the axis tune panel for the rudder and used these settings: Joy_ X Dead 15 Sat X 100 Sat Y 90 Curv 31 Joy_ RZ Dead 25 Sat X 100 Sat Y 50 Curv 30 I really have no clue as to what Im doing, so if anyone can give me some advice, I would really appreciate it as now that I am using Sim mode and not game mode, every time I try to take off, my P-51 wants to spin to the left and I crash. Only once was I able to take off and I dont know if I used the wings to the right or joystick rudder or what. I keep crashing and Im taking it easy on throttle. HELP
  13. 3 monitors I am sorry Im such a newb, and my problem is not the GUI that I know of. I am doing 5670 x 1080 on three screens and when I start the p51 sim, I am way too close to the NO HAND HOLD and it may be my aspect ratio. I can use my mouse to zoom in and out ONLY in an outside view, not in the cockpit. What do I need to do to correct this ???? Thanks for any help. ****************************************************************** Ive messed around with the aspect ratio a little and think 3.6 may be the best ?
  14. I had been playing in game mode for my whole DCS experience and thought that I was doing so well. I could finally land and take off and was doing the campaigns and every thing was going so well, I invested in a new X52 hotas system and then something happened. I went onto a online multiplayer site and when I took off down the runway, as soon as I went to lift off the ground, my P-51 flipped over and I crashed. I tried about 6 times and no matter how slow I went holding the stick back to keep the tail on the ground, the same thing happened. Now I've gone and read a whole bunch more and now the same thing is happening over and over in single player. After thinking I was ok, this is now very frustrating for me. My new stick is not really set up very well, but the basics can be done using the mouse for setup and I am now lost as to what to do anymore. I really dont want to go back to game mode, and I know about the torque at high manifold pressure and I even did an adjustment to my rudder axis commands to make them not as unstable. Anyone have any advice for me ???? Thank You.
  15. recording a track I just got my new joystick, and will post a track as soon as I can get things working. I messed with my res settings and now only get a blue line across my three screens and not the DCS normal window. I came on here to go to the forum about setting up three screens. FUN FUN FUN !!
  16. I cant THANK YOU enough !!! I have been searching all over !!! Thank You !!!
  17. Thank You very much for the download !! I appreciate it very much !!!
  18. Im out of work and cant do much right now, but around Christmas time, I may be very interested in a stick first, and then the throttle. Photos look really great !!
  19. I can't tell you how many times now that I tried. I don't understand how my campaign now says I'm on number 12 instead of number 8 going on number 9. I have never made it up to the highest square and have tried so many times. ((( unless its counting my failures as campaigns ???))) I looked for a control thing to print out, but the only one I found was for Black Shark. I know nothing about tweaking the little things. At least Ive had enough practice that I can land pretty well now, Im thankful for that !!!
  20. We are talking the M key to do this ???? That did not work for me. I cant see anyone just climbing up and reaching the top green square without spending a half hour going in circles to gain altitude. If it can be done, I sure would like to know what Im doing wrong. Is there something I can do with the pitch of my propeller blades to allow them to cut into the thinner air ???? Im really stuck.
  21. I too will be following this post. I tried moving many carb switches and circling around to gain altitude and I just cannot get up to that last green square. Very Frustrating !!!
  22. none of the links for the music are any good anymore...... I would have liked to have heard it.
  23. Thank You very much for the help ! I appreciate it very much.
  24. I watched the above video and He helped me to figure out that I needed the super charger on to reach the green square in mission 10.
