Suspension/Wheel physics bug with SFM engine
McDeth187 replied to heclak's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World

I'm entering the break right above the carrier at 800 feet, approximately 350-400 knots and no matter how hard to turn it's telling me I'm entering the break too far from the boat. Any suggestions?

Steps to fix the window not appearing bug: 1: Click DCS Updater Application window so that it appears on the taskbar 2: Select the DCS Updater Application on the menu bar (Single click) 3: Press Left Alt+Space 4: Select Maximize Deleting the application and config files did not work for me but the above approach did

[DUPLICATE] Torrent download thru Updater
McDeth187 replied to Punisher74's topic in Installation Problems
That's nice...but did this really need a new thread? There are already like 3-4 threads dedicated to the DL issues... -
How to force updater into torrent mode?
McDeth187 replied to JorgeIII's topic in Installation Problems
Oh, that's just the first of 4 updates. The next 2GB update you'll have to DL direct from ED's sippy straw of an internet connection. -

Is it a 'p2p ED torrent' or a real torrent? -

FFS ED, why have you not released a torrent yet. I have 2 100MB/sec synchronous connections sitting here waiting for you to release the damn magnet link torrent... -

Dedicated 1.5 Oculus Rift DK2 thread
McDeth187 replied to djbordie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Same, I didn't realize the FPS counter in DCS adds together each eye for a total fps for BOTH eyes. Once I turned everything to low and had a steady 150 FPS everything was smooth. Man, you need a no-joke rig to run VR well... -
Dedicated 1.5 Oculus Rift DK2 thread
McDeth187 replied to djbordie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So ya, running in Windows compatibility mode definitely fixed my inability to start and get into game without crashing. Yay! That being said, it seems as if the tracking is limited to the original DK1 30hz and not the 120hz (or whatever the DK2 runs) so the view is pretty jerky and unsustainable. I had to take the DK2 after a few minutes as I was getting a little sick. Has anybody else encountered that? -
Ok this mod looks too damn cool. Any update?

Might want to sticky this for the time being...

Sorry but as awesome as 1.5 is and as a awesome as ED is, they need more study-sim level planes now. There are CRAPLOADS of payware add-ons for FSX/P3D that put the simulation aspect of DCS to complete shame. DCS:FC3 is nice, but save for the KA-50, A-10C and Mig-21, every 3rd generation fighter is a dumbed down version of the real thing (Note: I don't count the training aircraft here as actual fighters). Systems aren't modeled at all, and FCS/Radar functionality is completely dumbed down. It's nice seeing 3rd party devs working on products like the Mirage 2000C and the F-14, and ED on the F/A-18, but to say that DCS cockpits are 'the elephant in the room when you've got 3rd party devs for FSX that have been churning out fully 3D fully clickable cockpits with FULLY MODELED SYSTEMS for YEARS is disingenuous. DCS is still behind compared to other sims when it comes to systems modeling. There are a lot of awesome things on the horizon and I know you're excited about 1.5 (and I say good job ED!) but lets not warp reality here...

I get 'Enlarge', but what's the difference between 'Off' and 'Normal'?

You might want to move the JK part to the happy thoughts, because that reads as if 'the updater build failed (jk)'... Just sayin, lol. I'm on the west coast, so I got like 8 more hours in me before I get some shuteye. Keep up the good work!

Nope, they've said that they are releasing the steam beta at the same time as open

Mad Catz response to Windows 10 issues:
McDeth187 replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I've been doing some research after discovering the profiler issues. I don't have any stability issues with the software, but DCS DOES have issues with several of the key assignments. For example, I use rcntrl+; to control trim in the SU-27 and have that bound to the hat switch. Apparently the game or software doesn't recognize the right control part of that input and it does nothing. What's really strange is that I can go into the key binding screen and press the button and it's recognized, but ingame it doesn't do anything. Also, the key repeat rates seem to be screwed up. I went into multiplayer and opened the chat screen and then the key I have bound to adjust the targeting crosshair, and it spams the key VERY intermittently or sometimes just not at all. So ya, at this point the Profiler is completely screen with Windows 10. On the bright side, it appears if there's nothing wrong with the joystick driver itself, so you can work around the issue by binding the controls directly inside of DCS itself. -
I don't have a force feedback stick, just checked it and no, it's not enabled.

I've flown the KA-50 before and am familiar with how the trimmer works, however I recently reinstalled DCS and my Warthog to try and get back into the KA-50, and now I've run into a very strange problem with the stick trimmer. No matter what I do, the trimmer only works on the Rudder axis. When I bring up the Axis view I can clearly see that the rudder axis gets trimmed but nothing else does. I've watched YouTube video after YouTube video to see if it's something that I'm doing wrong but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Did ED break something in a recent patch?

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015
McDeth187 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Yes, it's at 20:00EST. Some people have time conversion issues... -
This is one of the (many) parts of BMS that work way better (or not at all, lol) than DCS. Having a vinilla, realistic radio system in DCS would be huge.

Wouldn't graphite work better?
