  1. I read that document. I liked it. M0.55 @ 10,000ft is 350kts. What numbers do you use?
  2. Yes I thought that they seemed high when I posted so I did a quick search and have edited my reply :). The point is that a precise number isn't useful, and even less useful is people saying 'read the manual'... Get a few opinions and try them out instead.
  3. To all those saying to 'read the manual': You are being very unhelpful and should probably refrain from posting. For a start, the answers to this question are not in the manuals. A much better response would be the actual location of the information in the manuals, or a quote from them. However, because you yourselves haven't read them, you don't know that the answers aren't actually there. The best we get from the SU27 manual is on page 106/107 where we get an EM diagram of a typical modern fighter. Great. Additionally, there is no guarantee that the flight model of DCS aircraft really simulates this aspect accurately so using 'real world' information probably isn't that good either. Finally, maintaining a constant speed in a dogfight is pretty tricky so precise numbers aren't terribly useful anyway. The numbers that I use for the max-energy high-rate-of-turn 'corner speed' are 650-750km/h in the SU27 or 375-425kts with the F15. YMMV.
  4. Hey Guys, Hope you don't mind if I post this here - don't know where else might work. Had a great few hours playing on the server 'DCS Israel' but I guess it crashed since I d/ced and can't find it again. Got a few cool screenshots (better than I would expect from just random people!) and would be keen to fly with you guys again! Send me a message on here if it's you. Cheers! - BadEngineer
  5. Hi guys, Loving the module so far. I had a crack at the campaign missions - the first mission was fun, having to navigate around the map and flying alongside the allies was cool. Started up the second mission, planned my route and everything, started to fly and started in mid-air! That's not my style, and I also had no idea where I was. Turns out there were loads of enemy aircraft in front of me straight away and before long I was shot down. Not to be dissuaded, I tried to replay the mission, but it started me back at the first! As I said, it was fun, but I don't want to replay the whole hour. So, three questions: 1. How can I fly the second mission without having to complete the first one again? 2. Is there any way to force a start from the ramp in the campaign missions? 3. Are there any other campaigns or missions (other than those included) that I might be able to fly the Mig-21 with? Thanks!
