  1. Ha this is interesting FalconPlot16. I didn't notice the correlation with the trees, but now you mention it, it makes sense. There's a lot more of them in Caucasus and they are not realy 3D models such as in NTTR.
  2. The TGP (and also Maverick) have really bad effects on framerate since quite a time on 1.5 (2.0 seems to be fine). In my case I can almost half the framerate (from 50-60 to 30 and less) in DCS 1.5. One could argue that it is related to the hardware specs. But, as I said, since the issue is almost non existant on NTTR (DCS 2.0), I am more enclined to something related to the Caucasus map integration into the new graphical engine.
  3. Making an effective IA is hard, true. But the one from DCS could really benefit from an upgrade. As long as you go against ground target, it doesn't really matter, but flying IA is just dumb as a brick and not reliable or realistic to play with. I am quite impressed by the fact that BMS has a better IA, even though the game is super old and is supported fans.
  4. I experienced the same bug with the A10C, with TGP or MAV. I'm going from solid 60fps to 30 and below. On the hardware side, I have no really big weak points (8Gb of RAM, GeForce 970 GTX, Intel i7-2600k, Windows 7 64bits, 1920x1024). On the settings, everything on high except the loading radius which is a bit lower. The MCD display are set to 1024 and not every frame for the refresh.

  6. Hi everyone ! I have a little issue with MIST version 4.0.55 or 4.0.57 (tested with both). It seems that I can't load Mist at mission start anymore. The following has been made in the ME trigger edition: Mission start -> time more than 1 -> do script file mist_4_0_55.lua Once ->time more than 10 -> do script file test.lua test.lua is just the following: do local msg = {} msg.text = 'Hello World' msg.displayTime = 25 msg.msgFor = {coa = {'all'}} mist.message.add(msg) endBut when I am at 10 seconds from the start, mist is not recognized and I get the standard error popup window (mist returning a nil value). Am I doing something wrong or has there been any changes recently ? It worked a few months ago. Thanks in advance for your reply :smilewink:
  7. Congrats for the release of the campaign ! I have a question / wish though. Can we expect in the future the possibility to play the campaign with a human wingman ? So basically the campaign would allow coop.

  9. Everything was maxed out, except MSAA (8x), Aniso filter (8x), no depth of field and no lens flares. Shadows on Ultra as well as vision. My rig: GeForce 970 GTX 8Go DDR3 RAM Intel Core i7-2600K @3.40 GHz No SSD Win7 64bits I just flew below the bridge mentioned above, noticed the lack of shadows below it and my own one being cut where the bridge one should stand.
  10. I can confirm that the ME is really slow times to times. The RAM usage in flight is really high but in my case it was holding up (8Go DDR3 ram)
  11. I observed some similar behavior of suspended structures (bridges) that actually cast no shadows and block the casting of objects below. I attached a picture of this. You have an F15C going below the bridge and its shadow is cut in half. I know it's a bit hard to see, but it is possible.
  12. If this is a bug, it's a minor one. Basically the trunk of every tree is plain black. See the pictures below.
  13. I think their update servers are currently unable to respond to all download requests for the module and so on. That's why so many people can't login or have a TimeOut error from the update server when they try to DL the modules.
  14. Well it seems the servers are a bit overwhelmed, I can't activate my modules. It fails and generates an autoupdate_log text file saying (last lines): STATUS: Connecting to update servers... INFO : Got reply from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com ERROR: Conection to server 'srv2.update.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Timeout was reached ERROR: srv2.update.digitalcombatsimulator.com replied HTTP -1 ERROR: Timeout was reached

  16. Thanks for the answers guys ! That's awesome ! @Darkwolf: I know that you have to land don't worry. The problem was that I wasn't sure if I would make it or not to the runway. I made a quick mental calculus based on the golden 12 minutes and got almost there (had to eject, engine shut down at ~300m from the runway). Another question for howie87: I don't get the difference in term of application from the "maximum range" tab and the "maximum endurance" tab. I see that it's not the same from the values but don't get the philosophy behind it. Maximum endurance meaning what ? Maximum fuel at arrival ?
  17. Hello everyone ! I have a quick question regarding the MIG 21 BIS flight time at low fuel states. :helpsmilie: Let me explain: in the manual it is said that the red "caution" light "450L" means (obviously) that the fuel state is at ~450L and that it allows 12 minutes of flight time. My question is, at which engine regime ? 12 minutes means nothing since the consumption is altitude and speed dependant (throttle level also). So are those 12' for a given engine regime or are they any thumb rules ? Thanks in advance.
  18. Hi everyone ! I found out I have an issue with the chaff/flare dispenser button (the one below the red cap, in front of the throttle). When I do an Alt+Tab and go back to DCS, this button doesn't work anymore. Pressing it directly with the mouse in cockpit or by using my HOTAS, neither work. DCS is in windowed mode by the way. Anyone experienced this issue ?

  20. Hi everyone ! I haven't found any solution for the following problem, only some mentions of it. There is a mission in the campaign where you are tasked to jam at the border in order to allow a group of SEAD aircraft to pass enemy lines. My problem comes from the "jamming" part. It seems that currently the SPS 141-100 ECM/Jamming pod is not working (it basically does nothing useful). So you basically can't do sh**. Since the mission is a failure but I didn't die or crash, I don't know why but I have to re fly the mission (which normally I would super happy with, you know because normally in this campaign you just have to move on the next mission even if you died, no re fly). So I can't complete the mission since I can't jam as tasked. Is there a solution ? Do we have any intels from the devs regarding the jamming pod ? Thanks in advance for your answers !   21. I tried turning if off and apparently the problem disappeared... So to summarize I now have the custom semi-english cockpit by Leatherneck without missing textures. And I do not use mods yet.
  22. Hi everyone ! If I remember correctly the "Custom Cockpit Livery" allowed previously to have some elements of the MiG 21 Bis cockpit in English. I tried to enable this option in DCS 1.5 Open Beta and got this instead (see pictures attached). :megalol: I am not sure this is a bug since the description for the option is to enable "your custome cockpit livery". Since I have none it could make sense. Did you also run into such issue ? Thanks in advance
